Toxic Hearts

I stared at the alter deep in thoughts, when I heard the trumpet. Sudden silence all over the church, you could hear a pin drop. The sound of footsteps, his footsteps; echoed around the place. I looked away from the floor i'd already spent 5 minutes studying, and saw a man, if not an angel; staring intently at me. He had the most beautiful gray eyes, like a void you could get sucked into if you looked at for just even a second; and for some reason I didn't want to look away. The most pale and beautiful skin I had ever seen, and that beautiful dark ash coloured hair that graced his already stunning face. I was crossed on whether he looked like an angelic devil or a devilish angel.

The start of my new life.

The king came with his hands out. "Shall we." I took his hand and came down, what I saw next made me dumbfounded.

An incredible palace that looked like it came out of a fantasy world!. Towering spires reaching towards the sky, adorned with carvings and shimmering with gold accents. The entrance was grand, with massive doors that opened into a breathtaking courtyard filled with vibrant gardens and sparkling fountains.

Rows of knights, making a pathway to the doorstep, with their heads bowed down.

"Oh hail his majesty, king Xavier Van-leon of the great kingdom of Euphoria and his new queen, her majesty Aliya Marigold Balliol." They all sayed in unison.

'His queen.' I thought. 'I'm the new queen of Euphoria.' The idea just sinking in.

Inside the palace, the halls were lined with marble pillars. There was dazzling chandeliers, plush velvet drapes, and exquisite artworks adorning the walls.

"Welcome your majesties." A beautiful lady with dark hair and brown eyes, that looked like she was in her late twenties came, her head bowed down.

"Ruby kindly take the queen to the arranged room for her, it's been quite a long day." The king said.

"Yes your majesty, come along your highness." The maid said with a welcoming smile on her face.

"Where's Zel?." The king asked her.

"He's in the meeting room." She responded.

"Okay, kindly take her to the room." He said, leaving us alone.

She led me to a beautiful room with rich velvety curtains that draped elegantly around the windows. The walls were adorned with exquisite tapestries. There's a majestic four-poster bed, with a regal bedding and canopy fit for a queen. The room was filled with delicate furniture, like an ornate vanity table and a cozy reading nook with a plush armchair. And of course, there was a grand mirror where the queen could admire her royal attire.

"Your bath is ready your highness." She said.

"-uh, thank you." I said.

The bath was warm and soothing, it made me feel a 100 times more relaxed.

"There's a variety of dresses for you to wear." She clapped her hands and rows of dresses came in, but something looked wrong with all of them.

"W-why are they all too exposed?." I asked looking confused, and they were all red.

"What do you mean your majesty."
