The tower was the same as it was when he came here, even after increasing the defense by 5, it looked the same.
'Maybe it's with the walls?'
He went inside and in the description, it was added that the tower now had an extra five points in defense which was permanent.
William didn't have much to do after that other than wait for the next wave.
He had determined to use the Tomb this time as he did not want to be at death's door again and again.
'If I use minimal vitality and let it regenerate while leveling up again and again… it might work.'
William moved along the fog and tried to notice something and like usual, there was nothing he could see at all.
But it was always creepy beyond his senses. William was relieved that he had a lot of area to walk and fight in.
The guys who got him here were not that stingy, it meant.
Time seemed to fly this time as William had something to munch at while he looked a the world-chat.
He was at a specific chat this time, trying to understand what these guys were saying while he scrolled down.
It was tough to look at a conversation in the world chat, if a person wrote and William was interested, he had to remember the guy's name and then wait for someone to say something related to it while waiting for the first guy's response.
It made him feel pathetic as to what he was doing yet there was nothing to interact with in this god-forsaken world other than the chats.
The tower was already explored and he knew every nook and cranny of it.
The area around it was just… normal? Yes, normal, with nothing to see any further.
The chats were the one source of entertainment that made William want the wave to start as soon as possible.
Yet still, many hours were left.
….
4 hours later,
[The 3rd wave has commenced!]
[Survive the wave to live and be rewarded.]
William had the book opened while he jogged circles around the tower to not get the tower hurt this time around. After a few seconds of doing this, he finally heard something.
AWOOO!!
"!" William's back and shoulders flinched with the sudden sound, he ran to the front and saw the creature that stood in front of him.
——
Hound
Level 3
A fast creature with weak defense, beware of the jaws.
——
"Level 3?" He said aloud in surprise.
The Hound was like any other wolf out there on Earth, hell it was even smaller than the average yet the sharp gaze it had made William take the damn mutt seriously. (Picture in the comments)
GRRRR…
It was as if the growl was coming directly from its neck, with how hoarse it was.
William looked at the opened page of the tome, his eyes fell on the second option out of the three that were present out there.
Before the Hound could even start running on its four legs.
Something unusual happened that even it had to stop and see what was happening.
William shivered while looking at the changes that were happening around him. Not even a full second ago, he had clicked on the second option, the option that was unlike the other two present in the tome.
Energy surged around William's body that he knew was coming out of him.
The more he looked at it, the more he thought it to be mana.
But something was telling him that it was not mana.
The energy was transparent with whitish glowing strands that felt to have a royal presence. It felt pure and calm.
'It's my vitality' He thought.
GRAB!
GRAB!
"The fuck?!" William panicked while looking at his hands, the sacrificial tome fell from his hands as something way out of his imagination was going on.
He looked down and saw that there were tentacles attached to him, specifically, his hands.
'Vines?'
These tentacle-looking black ropes were just vines that had grown out of the ground on their own and latched themselves to William's hands.
He saw many sprouts growing that in less than a second became as big as the others and latched themselves with force to him.
William was as if chained from both sides, he tried to force his hands out of them, alas, no matter how hard he tried, it seemed impossible.
For the unbelievable situation going on in front of him, he had to forcefully look to the front in a hurry as he was not quite safe right now.
The hound looked confused, to say the least, it had its face tilted to the right while it growled.
It seemed even it did not understand what was happening in front of it.
'It looks smarter than the rats.' William thought for a second, his conjecture seemed right too.
While the rats were there to either attack and destroy the tower or him, the hound seemed to have a brain of its own too.
In the fear of the unknown that even William did not understand, it had stopped in its course.
Around 15-20 vines had grown out of the ground and latched themselves on William's hands each.
He was pulling very hard on them while he tried to go to the back, even the veins in his forehead and neck had bulged with how much force he was exerting.
CRACK
The vines finally broke from the ground while still being latched to his hands.
"WOAHHH!"
THUD
The vines had come out and the force he was exerting had made William to fell hard on the ground from the aftereffects.
His shoulder dragged against the ground hurting him more than he would expect from such a situation.
But he got up the next second without even thinking and looked at the hound who was frozen in one place with a foot in the air.
It seemed to be dumbfounded while looking at him.
William finally looked down on his hands expecting some vines to be hanging from them yet it was not it.
His eyes widened as he brought his hands up to give them a closer look.
"Now this is badass…"
