[Tower_William: My ranking was around that too, just smacked the rat bastard again and again with my book.]
[Tower_TOM: Holy shit brother, that's too damn good. I can't possibly think about killing it without the sword's help.]
[Tower_William: So, do you have any information on food? I didn't get any.]
[Tower_TOM: No food? Have you opened the 1st wave's award? I got some kind of a fruit to eat, very juicy. Not what I like in them.]
====
William looked into the sky again and showed the middle finger, whoever was watching could go fuck itself out, not giving him food even though that sorry-ass guy got it.
====
[Tower_TOM: If I could, I would have given you the food but there is not a single option for it. Sorry brother.]
[Tower_William: No problem, let me think of a way to survive this next wave and we will talk again.]
[Tower_TOM: Take care, brother…]

William didn't want to treat the guy like this, but it was tough for him to socialize. He was a loner by choice.
Having many interactions always drained him of his energy.
He preferred animals over people except the ones from the orphanage, those were the only humans he was comfortable talking with.
Animals were better as William didn't have to interact in the way he would have with the people.
He tried thinking about what he could do now and unfortunately, there was nothing. Many hours were still left till the wave would come and all William could do was save his energy for it.
He had the sacrificial tome with him and everything he needed to know about its use was already known.
The only problem left was if he should use his vitality or not, it looked high yet not at the same time.
William had a feeling that he should not use it.
It was a sacrifice, he knew that, but to what extent?
Time passed, not fast but freakishly slow yet William had the World Chat to keep him entertained.
His stomach growled for food yet he ignored it. It was not the first time he didn't eat food.
There were times in his college when he didn't even eat food for 2 days straight. Only surviving with water to save money.
----
3 hours later…
Only 2 minutes were left until the wave was going to start. William had the sacrificial tome right in his hand.
In this way, he had the ability to just open and use the options and also use it to smack the creature like before.
TING!
TING!
===
[The 1st wave has commenced!]
[Complete the wave in order to survive and be rewarded.]
===
"Hufff…" William took a good breather and tried calming his nerves. He had already been in a fight in the first wave yet it was just a pathetic attempt in survival.
His gaze was on the fog but every now and then, he even looked to his right and left to confirm if something had come out.
TING!! TING!!!
Two notifications rang making William's concentration move to the object on his hand, he activated his with his mind.
[Tower under attack!]
[Health dropped by 1 HP! 99 left.]
"What?!" William ran to the tower and saw nothing was inside.
[Tower under attack!]
[Health dropped by 1 HP! 98 left.]
"Where?!" William ran out of the tower and looked everywhere until he felt that he missed something.
SCRATCH SCRATCH
"The back! FUCK!"
He ran to the back and there it was, the same rat scratching with its claws at the tower's wall.
It saw William yet its eyes were dazed while looking at the tower as it continually scratched it. It was as if the rat was fulfilling the purpose of its life and couldn't stop now.
William had no time, he ran toward the creature with urgency and flung his leg.
"FUCK OFF!"
The rat didn't even take his existence into notice and in return, it got sent flying toward the edge of the fog.
Finally, it stared daggers at William.
"Yeah fucker, I am right here…" William said while he was proud of that kick. It would have at least done some internal damage, he hoped.
Yet he grumbled over the fact that the tower got damaged.
The rat's mouth started foaming as it squeaked toward William. If it was a normal rat, William would have had fun laughing while listening to the noises.
But now, they were just scary.
The rat started running and William made the book ready to hit it.
Just like before, the rat just came in the trajectory of the big surfaced book making it fly in the fog. It was pretty dumb, to be honest.
William took that time to just run one circle around the tower so as to confirm if another wouldn't damage the tower. He couldn't afford it anymore.
The rat came running back from the same direction and William did his signature move again, hitting it on the ground and smacking the book.
SMACK SMACK SMACK!!
He hit the book three times very fast with the last one stronger than ever before getting up on the book and jumping on it many times.
[10 EXP points gained!]
[Detected 1 dead creature- Convert it to dungeon points? YES NO]
"Hah… Hah… Hahh… that was fast…" William retracted the book now that the status had confirmed the creature was dead.
The same old mess was there yet this time, William didn't make the choice and left it right there.
Food was more important than the points anyway for the short-term benefits and basic needs.
SQUEAK!
The high pitch voice came again making William dumbfounded.
'Again?' he moved his body toward the voice and saw the other rat come toward him fast. It was really close too.
His heartbeat stopped for a second and he was unable to take in any air for the time being.
William down right froze, the rat even jumped and William was still unable to move but out of instinct or feeling freaked out.
He ducked down while his hand touched the ground, even the book fell to the ground.
The rat was so high that it couldn't just stop itself and it landed a few feet from William.
"You almost got me there, fucker."
Anger welled in William as he looked at the rat. He grabbed the book from the ground again, a weapon that the rat didn't know was the murderer of its two rat brethren till now.
The creature had lost its chance against William and now it was too late.
