Chapter 46: The sealed power.

Xenxi didn't comment any further and simply kept creating more miniature Li Wei and Ling Yue. Li Wei saw himself feeding Ling Yue, holding her to sleep and hugging her. Xenxi's creations amazed him. They were all his cherished memories.

The miniatures slowly began to disintegrate as Xenxi slowly dozed off. Li Wei looked at her. The night was cold and all Xenxi had was a thin worn out blanket. He didn't know how Xenxi was able to manage like this with her pregnancy.

He sat in a corner and kept looking at her. He was now 100% sure that Xenxi and Ling Yue are the same. That he and Rem are the same. But he still had one question. Why was her eye colour different?

He shifted his gaze onto the starry night sky. It was undoubtedly the most mesmerising sky he had ever seen but it's beauty didn't make the night any less lonely. He sensed something as he stared at the sky. He frowned looking at the stars.

Did he just now see the stars moving? He shook his head and stood up to focus on the sky. He can see slight motion in the stars. Soon the stars moved in such a way that they encircled a dark hole in the sky and black wisps of smoke started coming out from the sky towards the hut.

Li Wei's eyes widened as he witnessed this paranormal scene. He rushed into the hut to do something and wake up Xenxi but was again shocked. Xenxi had a white glow surrounding her. The darkness slowly entered the hut and made it's way towards the white glow.

The dark and white tendrils danced together. Li Wei thought it would hurt Xenxi but it didn't. The darkness and light didn't look like they were fighting for dominance, rather beautifully merged and played.

While Li Wei was stupefied looking at this, Xenxi slightly frowned and the whole magical brilliance shattered and vanished as if it was never there before. Xenxi opened her eyes and sat up. She looked around the hut. She slowly got up and reached the door.

Li Wei went behind her and looked in the direction she was gazing. He couldn't see anything except the darkness of the night. Xenxi frowned and realized something.

She didn't stand there anymore and rushed into the forest, in the opposite direction to what she was gazing previously.

Li Wei got alarmed. Why was she running into the forest this late at night? Is she not scared of wild animals? Li Wei followed her into the forest not quite understanding what was happening.

"That witch lives there. KILL HER." Li Wei got startled by the sudden shout in the forest. The peaceful and silent night soon got disrupted by hurried footsteps and shouts of men.

"The witch is not here. Find her."

"BURN DOWN THIS HUT"

"DESTROY EVERYTHING HERE."

"FIND THAT WITCH AND BURN HER"

Li Wei panicked hearing these shouts. Are these people crazy? What did Xenxi even do to them? He looked at Xenxi who was breathless and panting while threading her way in the forest.

She must have sensed people coming after her life and ran into the forest. She soon made her way towards the peak but climbing it was not an easy task for her. Especially with her pregnancy.

Xenxi stopped at a little elevation and looked at the movements in the forest. Few men holding fire torches were spread across the forest searching for her.

She looked at the hut which sheltered for so many months. The hut was now set on fire and the black smoke now rose high into the sky. The cradle she made with so much love, effort and hope for future now lay broken and burnt.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she looked at the scene. How was she going to escape from here? She turned around to leave the place but could make it more than few steps and the baby in her womb started to kick her insides.

She fell onto the ground but didn't make a single sound. She bit her lips not to scream and took deep breathes.

"Shhh.. N-Not now l-little one. W-Wait a little. A l-little" Xenxi struggled to take two more steps and fell down again. She then started crawling on the ground and hid behind a bush. She sweating and panting. Li Wei understood that she was now going into labor.

"Husshhh... P-Please ... AHHHH ..." Xenxi couldn't hold her screams anymore as the baby inside her started to kick with more force. She could feel the contractions.

"L-Ling Yue" Li Wei hurriedly reached out to her but as always his hand passed through her body.

"AHHHH .... Sob sob ... sob" Xenxi never felt this scared in her entire life. She couldn't move, she couldn't fight, there was no one to help, she was carrying a life inside her.

Li Wei desperately tried to touch her and bring her into his embrace but all this efforts were fruitless. He can do nothing but watch her cry in despair.

"I think the witch is there. EVERYONE. TO THE PEAK" the men shouted and marched towards the peak. Xenxi was desperately trying to hide somewhere but there was no shelter for her.

"Rem ... please .. please .. AHHHHH.. Rem .. sob sob Rem"

Li Wei clutched his hair as he kneeled beside Xenxi. Why was he even here when he was of no use? How was she supposed to get through this? He looked back and saw the fire torches nearing them.

"AHHHHHHH..." Xenxi's screamed echoed in the forest giving away her location. She stopped trying to escape and thought of first pushing the baby out.

"AHHHH ....." Li Wei's heart almost stopped and raced like never as he heard Xenxi's screams and looked at her suffering the pain. His hands started shivering as he looked at those men nearing. His blood ran cold as he gazed at the blood pooling around Xenxi.

"AHHHHHHH ... pant .. pant .. pant"

"Ling Yue... L-Ling Yue... Y-Yueyue" Li Wei's voice broke as he tried calling her. Their names didn't matter anymore. Xenxi or Ling Yue, he didn't care. She was being hunted, not by the wild animals in the forest but by civilised humans.

"Rem... AHHHH...." Xenxi knew she cannot fight all these men. She never did anything to these people. Why were they after her life? The pain wrecking her body and also the eminent danger approaching left her hopeless.

"Sob sob..sob...Rem..Please... Rem"

"THE WITCH IS THERE"

"DON'T GO NEAR HER. She can do black magic. Didn't you all see. She was summoning monsters from the sky"

"The witch is giving birth to a monster."

The men stood a distance in defensive stance as they talked about Xenxi. Li Wei clenched his fist. She was sleeping when those things happened. She was innocent.

"AHHHHHH....."

"Kill that witch now. Who knows what kind of monster will come out later" a man shouted and other men nodded and slowly started to move closer to her. Xenxi was still writhing in pain on the ground. She was completely powerless and defenseless.

"AHHHH....."

"S-stop there... " Xenxi weekly warned but the men didn't heed to her and slowly started to surround her.

"You monster.. You will die tod.. AHHHHHHHH..." This time the scream didn't belong to Xenxi. All the men surrounding her previously now ran away from her and hid behind the trees and bushes far away.

The light coming out from the huge dragon Xenxi just now created was majestic. The dragon flew in the air around Xenxi and coiled the trees and mountains.

Li Wei looked at Xenxi struggling to breathe. The pain was making it hard for her to get up. Xenxi crawled on the ground leaving a blood trail behind her. Her dress was now bloodied and Li Wei couldn't even fathom the pain she was in.

He turned to look at the dragon. Unlike all the previous times when Xenxi created the miniature versions, this dragon was pivotal. But even then it's radiance started to decrease slowly.

"AHHHHH... huh huh"

"The monster is gone, kill that witch now" the men were still adamant on killing her. They slowly neared her but still maintained a certain distance and aimed their arrows.

Li Wei knelt on the ground beside her. No one deserved to be hunted and humiliated like this. She was innocent, pregnant, alone and in labor.

"Ahhh.... Please p-please.. Don't k-kill me."

"I-I w-will leave."

"A monster like you deserves to die. BURN HER."

"D-don't. I am w-warning you. Don't c-come"

"Hahaha" The men guffawed and slowly approached her. "Are you in a position to fight us. Heh? Hahaa."

Xenxi looked at all of them. For the first time, Li Wei saw pure disgust and hatred in those eyes. She was now pushed to the limit.

"AHHHHHHHH..."

ROARRRRR...

Li Wei blinked his teary eyes and looked at the magnificent beast in front of him. The black and red dragon rose high into the sky and dived back towards the ground crashing into the forest ground with a loud bang. The men previously surrounding her were set on fire as the dragon's lava skin coiled the men and burned them alive.

Li Wei blinked his eyes. This dragon was no imagination. It was freaking real. In no time the men lay burnt on the ground, soon turning into ashes.

ROARRR...

The beast didn't stop at that. It snaked through the forest setting everything in it's sight on fire. It ravaged everything nearby and finally settled still in the air looking at Xenxi.

"AHHHH...."

Wahhh...wah..

The long awaited baby finally came out. Li Wei was stunned hearing the cry. He looked at Xenxi who was trying hard to open her eyes. Her breathing was irregular but she still willed herself and managed to hold the baby. The baby she gave life to, the baby she fought hard for, the baby who was her only light was now finally in her arms.

Xenxi couldn't stop her tears as she hugged the new born baby. This time her tears were not because of desperation and hopelessness but were because of joy.

"M-My angel.. M-My l-little one.. Sob.. My c-child. Sob.."

Li Wei gazed at the mother and child in trance. He never saw child birth before. He was in school when Li Mei was born. This was his first time witnessing this. And he must say, as magical as it was, it was also deadly beyond words.

ROARRR....

Both Xenxi and Li Wei broke out of their stupor and looked at the dragon who was watching Xenxi.

"T-thank you. T-Thank you. Sob ... T-thank y-you so much sob.." Xenxi bowed to the dragon but her strength was completely drained and she fell back on ground.

She looked at the dragon in eye before closing her eyes and holding the baby close to her chest. Soon the dragon transformed itself into a huge empty ball and flew towards her before stopping beside Li Wei.

Xenxi opened her eyes and looked at the forest with was now a sea of fire. Her eyes were serene and also looked tired. She looked at the warm ball beside her and weekly touched it. The power which just burned down the whole forest didn't harm her.

"I don't k-know what I am. Sigh... But my c-child.. Your m-mother is n-not a monster. A-And neither are you. I can't save both of u-us. I-I am s-sorry. I love you so much.. M-Mother loves y-you so much."

"My s-son. I bless you to have a loving family who will support y-you and p-protect you. You should never experience loneliness in your life. A-And remember, m-mother loves y-you. Sob.."

Xenxi held the baby and looked at her child for one last time. Li Wei too came to her and peeked at the baby - Xenxi and Rem's child. The baby was too small and was still covered in blood. Li Wei couldn't make out the baby's features yet but what he saw left him shaken.

His breathe struck as he looked the baby and at the same time the wailing baby too looked at Li Wei and their eyes met.

People say eyes are the windows of our soul. One has to just look into their eyes to see through their soul.

Li Wei gazed into those little black eyes and sobbed. The fear, despair, anguish, anger and love that were wrecking his heart finally broke the walls and rushed out as tears.

He knew this new born little life too well. How can he not recognize the person who gave birth to him? This baby Xenxi gave birth was his father - Li Jun. The man he idolized since he was little. His hero. His superman.

The cycle of life and death was too mystical. He never knew that their was a life when he fathered his father, a life when Ling Yue birthed his father.

"G-Good bye my l-little angel. B-Be safe" Xenxi moved around with difficulty and put her son inside the ball and the ball flew away from her.

Xenxi lay on the ground breathless as she gazed up to the sky. Her vision was blurry and she understood she didn't have much time left.

She didn't fear this horrible death, neither did she fear her lonely life. She accepted everything what ever was thrown in her way. Love .., hatred .., humiliation ... she experienced them all. But now she was tired and wanted to rest.

The fire in the forest didn't spare her. It slowly crept to her but Xenxi had already surrendered herself to death. She didn't fight for struggle for her life now.

"Rem ..." this was her last word before she breathed her last. Li Wei watched her eyes turn lifeless and soon the fire consumed her. This was how his Yueyue died in her past life. And he surely played an awesome role in pushing her to her death.
