This time in the modern world, as Ling Yue and Li Wei. Will their scarred souls fall in love again. If they did, then will their love win? Or will they be defeated by the same fate they were destined for many lifetimes before?  " Unattainable love, a cruel game, Bound by circumstances, I can't claim. Is she the same girl?

Chapter 82: Is she the same girl?

That night Xiong Hui didn't get even a wink of sleep. Even at the dining table everyone was busy thinking about Ling Yue while she was sitting right in front of them. Can't they talk about what she was going to do next after her studies, or her future plans. What was so good about Ling Yue? That girl didn't even join the table and Li Wei left the table to feed her. She always aimed to be the next Madam Li and had worked hard to excel in everything to prove that she was matchless. She can't overlook the fact that the Li family had someone else in their mind for that position.

Restless, she got up from her bed and went downstairs to the Ling Yue was staying. She has to speak to her. Let's just see how good she is. Stopping in front of the room door, Xiong Hui contemplated for some time whether to knock or just barge in and finally decided to knock first and then barge in.

KNOCK .. KNOCK ..

Without waiting for the other person to open door, Xiong Hui barged in without notice but she immediately regretting her action. Well she actually wouldn't regret it if it was just Ling Yue in the room. But that wasn't the case. There was Li Wei too. His cold eyes lingered on her the moment she stepped into the room and they were becoming colder and colder by each passing second.

Xiong Hui's eyes stung as she looked at the bed and the people sleeping on it. Ling Yue had her arms around Li Wei and her head on his shoulder while is hand acted like her pillow. They looked like a lovely and caring couple. Xiong Hui stood frozen near the door, trying to not break down and also not shiver at how fast the temperature around her was dropping.

Li Wei was slightly surprised as to who it might be this late into the night to knock on the door. Then the door suddenly opened and someone stormed in. He almost thought it would be Li Mei or his father because they were the only one who were shameless enough to barge into other's space. But his eyes darkened looking at the person standing in front of him.

This is the reason he didn't like unnecessary guests at home. Some people really don't know there place. He clearly knew what was cooking up in Xiong Hui's head. He was well aware of her obsession towards him but it never bothered him since she never created trouble for him and he actually never even saw her properly. Whenever Xiong Hui approached him, his sister would land straight in between them and make him look only and only at her.

"Brother Wei, I .." She shut her mouth when she saw Li Wei indicate her to shut up with his index finger. She was lucky that Ling Yue didn't wake up. Had Ling Yue's sleep been disturbed, Xiong Hui would have seen a scary and a whole different side of Li Wei. Li Wei tried to place Ling Yue on a pillow but she hugged him tighter instead. Li Wei could never let anyone disturb his Yueyue's sleep. He knew how sleep was a rare luxury for Ling Yue.

"Hmm. Don't go.." Ling Yue in his chest and Xiong Hui clenched her fists. Li Wei didn't care and took his sweet time to rub her back, kiss her forehead and whisper sweet nothings in her ears before finally lowering her on to the pillow and adjusted the duvet.

His warm and sunny demeanour became frosty as soon as he got down of bed and gazed at Xiong Hui. Not speaking anything, he signalled her to walk out of the room while he did the same. Closing the door behind his back, Li Wei waited for Xiong Hui to speak. She better have a good reason as to why she barged in. He would have overlooked if it was father Li or Li Mei since those both were already hoping for something to happen between Li Wei and Ling Yue and wouldn't mind becoming shameless stalkers. But this behaviour would not be entertained if exercised by outsiders.

"You better have a good reason as to why you barged into the room Miss Xiong." Li Wei cold voice cut through Xiong Hui's heart and she shuddered a little.

"I-I heard Miss Ling was hurt and c-came to check if she n-needed anything." Xiong Hui stuttered.

"We are there to do those things Miss Xiong. We wouldn't like to see guests troubling themselves in the middle of the night to work hard for a family member of ours." His one sentence drew a clear demarcation of where Ling Yue and Xiong Hui stood for him. Xiong Hui was about to speak something when Li Wei spoke again.

"I will arrange a car in the morning for you to leave. Don't make the driver wait long." He didn't wait for her reply and went into the room, closing the door behind. He couldn't afford to disturb Ling Yue's sleep because of someone unimportant. She rarely had a good sleep with her headaches and her health wasn't perfect either.

Xiong Hui was left stupefied outside the door. How? How can he be so cruel to her? She was an outsider? Her eyes watered but she forced them to retreat. Stomping her way back to her room, she swore to get this Ling Yue out of this house.

----------------

Next day, just as Li Wei said there was a car waiting outside for her early in the morning. She wished she hadn't seen it but now she can't unsee it. She have to leave even before the breakfast time. Having no choice, she dragged the luggage to the car. Since she wanted to make an impression, she went to say good bye to everyone and so walked into the garden to find mother Li. But again, mother Li wasn't alone, Ling Yue was accompanying mother Li on her wheel chair and mother Li handed her a glass of milk. As Ling Yue started drinking milk, mother started peeling an apple for Ling Yue.

"Aunty. Good morning. I am here to see you before I leave." Xiong Hui said politely when she neared their seat. Both Ling Yue and Mother Li lifted their heads and looked at Xiong Hui. This was Ling Yue first time seeing Xiong Hui. Li Mei yesterday told that there was an obnoxious guest at home. Oh.. So this was that obnoxious guest.

On the other hand Xiong Hui was stunned looking at the beauty sitting in front of her. She hadn't really paid much attention to Ling Yue yesterday. And the photos really didn't do any justice to her true beauty. That V-shaped face with baby soft milky white skin, full pink lips, long eyelashes covering those emerald eyes, and that soft silky hair could make anyone envy her. Ling Yue now made Xiong Hui even more insecure and jealous even without doing as much as bat an eye.

"Oh. Good Morning Miss Xiong." Mother Li greeted back, pulling Xiong Hui back from her trance.

"Ahh yeah. Good Morning Miss Ling." Xiong Hui didn't forget to greet Ling Yue. She had to know this girl's personality first before striking. Ling Yue nodded and returned the simple greeting.

"I didn't get to spend much time with you Miss Ling. I hope we can get to know each other more in future." Xiong Hui said. She was good at talking and socialising, a skill she developed to become Madam Li. But while she was good at pretence, Ling Yue was good at candidness.

"Oh please don't bother with that Miss Xiong. I usually don't like it when people get interested in my personal space and barge in just for the sake of saying hii and bye." Xiong Hui stood stunned listening this. Isn't it a formality to atleast smile and say 'okay', or things like 'looking forward to it'. A wait. Barge in? Was she not asleep yesterday night?

In fact Ling Yue was asleep yesterday night but her senses have always been sharp to perceive who was around. With Li Wei around, it was no problem, but any other presence will surely wake her up. Though she didn't bother to open her eyes and see what's happening since Li Wei coaxed her back to sleep, she knew this young miss barged in to her room. Mother Li of course knew why her son was sending this girl away early in the morning.

Xiong Hui laughed awkwardly at the situation. She thought Mother Li would get irritated by Ling Yue's response but mother Li was busy peeling the apple. She didn't bother with this talk and Ling Yue's lack of interest in conversation made it more awkward for Xiong Hui. Having no choice she left.

"Who is she Aunty?" Ling Yue asked as she saw Xiong Hui's back disappearing around the corner. She wasn't comfortable holding a talk with her because she didn't have her lenses on. Her eyes to eye catching to forget and didn't want many people to know about this.

"She is the daughter of Xiong family. Your Uncle Li's sister-in-law's brother-in-law's brother's daughter." Mother Li replied. She wouldn't have actually remembered about this relationship flow if not for Xiong Hui always pestering them. Ling Yue was now thinking about what this relationship will be called.

--------------------------

"So, what happened yesterday? What did her reports say?" Uncle Shen asked Li Wei as soon as he returned to Li Mansion. He had to go out because of some urgent work yesterday night and didn't get time to discuss about this. Everyone had gathered in Li Wei's study except Ling Yue and Li Mei.

Li Wei didn't bother to hide any information this time because it was important for everyone to take proper care of Ling Yue.

"Not good. Her skull fracture got infected and now there is a blot clot there." Li Wei said somberly. Uncle Shen and Uncle Li who were already aware of her old injury clenched the arms of their seats but Mother Li was confused. What skull fracture? She panicked hearing this.

"Huh? What skull fracture. And what blood clot. Li Wei. Don't joke around. Since when did she have this skull fracture?" Mother Li asked anxiously. Li Wei took a deep breathe before opening his mouth again. He really didn't want to remember everything Ling Yue went through. It pained him.

"Mom. When Ling Yue was six, some people attacked her and that was when she got this injury. But she couldn't get operated because she has this remnants of a poison inside her body which is counter attacking the effect of most of the medicines she take. She couldn't get operated without a medicine that works for her. But doing that is not easy and now her injury had infected the region around it. There is a blot clot in her brain and if not removed as soon as possible, then she will suffer d-dementia." Li Wei explained everything at a time.

Dementia? No one spoke for some time. Mother Li was even more shocked. Skull fracture? Poisoning? Six year old girl? Wait. Why does these all sound a little familiar. Flashes of a little girl she found on road covered in blood flashed across her eyes and tears rolled down her cheeks. That little girl was her Yue'er? She did remember those green eyes filled with fear and hatred but Ling Yue change in her personality was so different that the two images in her mind didn't overlap at all.

"Wei.. Is she the s-same girl?" Mother Li's voice broke when she asked this question and Li Wei nodded. He was really really gratefull for his mother for helping Ling Yue that day. Ling Yue would have been broken if she hadn't seen that little glimpse of love and hope because of Mother Li.

Father Li and Uncle Shen looked baffled seeing mother Li like this. Did they miss something?
