Chapter 3: I'm Back!

"Amiel"

"Amiel!"

"Amiel, wake up!"

*Shoooosh*

"What the hell? Where am I?" I shouted.

"Mr. Amiel, if you're going to sleep and shout at my class, you can leave already, I hate the disrespect!" said by Mrs. Balani.

I saw most of my classmates laughing at me.

What!?

The last thing I know, I'm in the time drive, I really thought that it is the end of me since the drive exploded.

What the hell is happening right now?

And also, where am I? Is this another dream? There is only one way to know, that is to slap myself.

*Slap*

"Ouch, what the hell, it is too painful" I shouted.

"Mr. Amiel, are you out of your mind? That's it, I'm so full of you, leave the class, now!" said by my teacher who's extremely angry for what I did.

"I'm sorry, ma'am" these are my last words before leaving the class.

I saw some of my old friends laughing at me while I am leaving the class.

I am still baffled on what's happening.

As I walk by at a mirror, I am really shocked, I was in my younger body, seriously? What the hell is happening, did I successfuly time travelled? There's only one way to find out.

I saw a kid walking on the corridor. This is the right time for me to confirm the date.

"Hey kid, what day is it today?"

"Wednesday?" he answered.

"No, not that, I mean the date"

"February 11why?"

"February 11? What year?"

"2017!?"

"Uhm, y-yeah?"

"Okay, thanks kid!" I replied.

"What a creep, is he a drug addict or something?" he whispered.

I totally hear you, you bad mouthed total piece of crap.

I guess I am transported back to 2017, maybe I was able to time travel before I lost my life.

But there is one question that is circling my mind right now, why is it the only my consciousness travelled back in time? In theory, I must be in my original body, maybe there is still some flaws when it comes to time travel, there must be two me in this timeline, what did we do wrong?

I don't think that the lab is exisiting at this time, I must find Professor Reginald first, he must be informed to the existence of the time machine. This might sound preposterous to him but I need to give it a shot, that was the original mission afterall.

*Riiiiiiiiing*

The bell rang, that means that it is break time already. I'm getting hungry, I guess I need to go to the cafeteria first, I'm a bit hungry and dizzy,

While I was walking, someone smacked me at the back.

"Ouch, what the hell was that?"

"Pardon? Maybe I am the one who needs to ask you that? What the hell is wrong with you today?"

The voice is very familiar, there's no doubt about it, it is her voice, Maia.

As I look back at her, I was stunned, it's been a while since the last time I saw her. Her eyes, her smile, everything about her feels a bit nostalgic.

I felt my tears flowing down from my eyes, I'm so glad to see her alive and well.

"What are you crying? What happened?" Maia asked in a soft voice.

I failed to give her an answer and instead, I just hugged her.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine, I always told you to vent up on me when you have lots of problems, we can talk about it later, okay?" she said.

"There's no problem, Maia. I just missed you a lot" I replied.

"Dumbass, we were just together yesterday, maybe you're just hungry, let's go to the cafeteria, it's on me" she said.

"Yeah, just hungry, I think so too" I replied.

Yes, that's right, this is the Maia that I know, the Maia that I will save, the Maia that I will love for the rest of my life.

"By the way, are you done with our homework? The due's tomorrow, it is a bit arduous so I suggest you do it today" she said.

"Ahm, what homework? Hehe. I think I completely forgotten it.

"What? That fast? I also reminded you yesterday, you told me you're almost done with it" she said.

"Oh, sorry, I forgot. I am pretty busy last night, I didn't even get to sleep a lot, I drove my parents to the airport." I replied.

"You drove them to where? What are you talking about? You don't even have a license dumbass, you're really weird today. I wonder what's wrong with you. Do you have a fever or something? You're getting me worried"

"Nah, nevermind, that was my dream earlier when I was sleeping at Mrs. Balani's class"

It seems like she believed it. I almost got myself caught, there's no way that she'll believe me if I told her that I was from the future, and for her sake also, I don't want her to find out.

After we ate,we goes back to the classroom, continuing the class.

In our science subject, our teacher asked a very interesting question.

"In your own opinion, do you guys think that time travel can exist?"

I immidiately raised my hand and got called by her, so I answered.

"In theory, time travel is actually plausible, specially in Einstein's theory of relativity and time dilation. Many of the major scientist in the past theorize that we can time travel. Also, the majority of scientist and philosophers believes that travelling back to the past sounds a bit preposterous. There is also a theory that came up before, it is the theory that if there is a machine that can warp space, contracting the space in front of it while expanding the space at the back, time travel can be possible, since the whole concept of that thing can exceed to the travel speed of light."

I saw the reaction of my teacher and also my classmates, they're shook, it seems like I have done something wrong.

"Wow, what a great answer, honestly I did not expected that answer from you, since you always sleeps in my class, I'm glad that you also raised your hand. Very commendable Mr. Alix"

Ops, it looks like I messed up a little.

I have forgotten that when I was still in my senoor high years, I'm actually that naughty and stubborn kid who always sleeps in class.

Maybe I need to stay lowkey for a while or else something might be off.

I only have one problem for now, I'm not actually sure on where can I find Professor Reginald, I don't know his whereabouts and of course I don't have his number. Oh, wait, do I even have a proper phone at this time? Haha.

I'm still adjusting to the timeline that I am in, I guess I still need a few time to be comfortable. Besides, there is still 7 months left until Maia's accident, I still have enough time to contemplate and save her.

"Miel, shall we go now?" Maia asked.

"Go to where?" I replied.

"I don't know what's wrong with you, but have you forgotten? It is your mother's birthday today, you even asked for my parent's permission to sleep in your house" she replied.

"Oh, ye-yeah. I remember now, I think we should get going already, it's getting a bit late."

*Maia holds my hand*

I missed this, her soft and silky hands. It's been a while since the last time I've felt that warmth in her hands.

I am completely baffled on what's happening right now, but I know one thing is for sure.

I'm back!
