Never play with fire

Bruno opened his eyes, feeling the soft mattress under him and seeing the wooden roof in front of his face, the first thought he had was:

~so she saved me~

Just as his thought dissipated, his own dagger came near his throat and Elsa's voice resounded through the whole room:"tell me, how do you know about my real identity"

A little bead of sweat formed on his forehead, "I'll talk, I'll talk, no need for that" he said while watching the dagger.

When she finally put the dagger down, he sighed in relief.

His whole body was barely able to move and Elsa knew it, so she thought he wasn't a threat for her.

However, the moment she replaced the dagger on the shelf and came back to sit beside him, a little scar appeared on her neck while the dagger was flying right beside it, ready to end her life.

{Telekinesis}

"You were quite naïve, did you really think you could threaten me, you must've been mad, you could've just asked me about it.

But no one, and I mean NO ONE, has control over my destiny" he said.

She watched him in disbelief, as if she was betrayed by a life companion, but it was she who had started all this.

She soon understood the situation she was in, and sat down beside him, "so, can you tell me how you knew about my identity" she said in a sad and soft voice contrary to the previous time.

"Aren't you really shameless, you first threaten to kill me even though I saved your life, and then you even ask me questions, but sure, I can" he said.

She stared at him, she really wasn't expecting that reply.

But before she could even apologise he started talking:"I have a skill, that tells me the awakened bloodline of others, as for you escaping Odin, why in the world would a deity like Andrei spend the last days of his life helping and covering someone like me, he was hiding you.

What could it ever be, something that even a powerful deity like him couldn't face, well there was only one option: a more powerful one.

And since you are Freya, it's obvious who you are hiding from, as it happened in Norse mythology, Odin probably asked your hand in wedding, and you refused, angering him."

Astonished, Elsa sat there processing the information she just received, while Bruno started meditating with mana stones in his hands, trying recover as fast as possible.

After a while she left the room, not saying anything, her face however, looked really gloomy as if she was guilt-ridden.

For the next two days, they didn't talk to each other at all, even though they slept on the same bed, they always gave the other their back, as if they were alone, Elsa was always lost in thoughts while Bruno was just trying to recover.

It was after two nights, that Bruno, just woken up, saw the familiar window in front of his face:

He was waiting for this moment, at both level five and ten, he unlocked a new ability, and he was looking forward to the skill he would unlock this time….

He went outside, to not wake Elsa who was still sleeping, and then accepted the awakening.

His body glowed for almost thirty minutes and when it was done, Bruno expectations were fulfilled, he got a new skill, and it was the best one he could ever hope for:

Effect: you can create and manipulate fire as you will, the power and precision will increase with the mind, mana, and skill rank.

Skill proficiency rank: lowest 1st}

Without this skill, he would've been in a pinch right now, since his daggers couldn't pierce through the green rank monsters.

He now had a fire related skill that was probably on par with that of Hephaestus, and he could use it paired with the materials and mana stones from the crows to build a new dagger.

And so, now completely recovered, he headed for the gate yet again.

Inside he encountered two crows, he killed them both easily stalling for time with his flying daggers while burning them with rampant flames, paying attention not to watch them in the eyes.

He then recovered the bodies and went back to their hiding spot.

Elsa was now up, and was quite sad about not having any pancakes today.

She saw him come back dragging the two crows bodies, they were absolutely huge and she couldn't help but ask were they came from, he responded in all honesty," a green rank gate not too far from here, I have to clear it if we want to avoid this area receiving the attention of the awakened"

She was surprised by this information, being able to kill two green rank beast alone meant his rank was probably higher than thirty five, while she initially thought his rank was about twenty.

He continued walking towards the back of the house while Elsa stared at him in amazement.

If his rank was that high, than what caused him those injuries a few days ago.

And how stupid had she been trying to threaten someone like him.

Arrived at the right spot, he left the bodies there and went out again, this time, he was searching for a sturdy branch of wood.

He needed a handle for his hammer,

After finding it he returned in the semi-cave and got to wok.
