Time Stops When I'm with Her. (MHA)

A peculiar teen dies after being hit by Truck-kun. As the beaming lights flash into her eyes and the immense force tore apart her body, she finds herself motionless drifting off in a seemingly endless void until one day a light shone down upon her and she woke up in the body of a child. ( I do not own My Hero Academia/MHA, or the cover photo used for the novel.)

Chapter 66:

The next day of my week-long break, I was awoken by a very hungry Eri. Apparently, Momo suggested that she wake me up for breakfast, as she was needed back at Nighteye's agency as soon as possible. I wasn't about to complain, Eri did wake me up from those weird memories, and give me something to focus on instead of them.

Unfortunately for the hungry child in front of me, I was in the need of some cuddles. So, Eri now found herself in my lap, happily nibbling away at a snack bar I stole from Momo's emergency supply. It wasn't a filling breakfast, I knew that, but I hoped it would tide her over until I was in the mood for cooking.

"What do you want to eat for breakfast, sweetie?" I asked the restless unicorn child on my lap.

"Eggs!"

I had no idea what she wanted, as the answer 'eggs' didn't narrow it down enough. Scrambled? Poached? Fried? An Omelette? I didn't know, but I will just make whatever I want to eat that involves eggs and hope it lines up with her interests as well.

"Mhm! Okay, I'll make something with eggs for you. Can you get off of me, so I can go and take a shower?"

After she shuffled her way off of my lap, I sent a clone to pick out some clothing for today and entered the shower. While I was conditioning my hair my thoughts drifted off to what happened in my slumber.

They were most likely my memories but from when? They weren't from my life before reincarnation to MHA, and they weren't from my life after reincarnating to this world either. So, what time frame were those memories from? Who the fuck is Victoria? Was someone fucking with my mind like a Charles Xavier and Jean Grey situation?

I had no definite answers to my questions, and I definitely wanted some, but I knew that I couldn't search for them myself. If it was like a Charles Xavier and Jean Grey situation, then I would only have to wait it out until my locked away memories come back.

It was so annoying to know that I was in a situation that I couldn't control, and that's not for lack of trying, because I tried forcing myself to sleep once more in hopes to get more clues, but it didn't reveal anything new.

As I finished in the shower and stepped out to dry and dress, I briefly pondered what I was going to make Eri for breakfast. Well, it's not just for Eri, it's for myself too, so I have to think about what I want to eat as well. I decided to put off deciding on what to eat until I get to look at the ingredients available.

After drying and dressing myself in the outfit that my clone picked out, I brushed my teeth and headed out to the lounge area where I left Eri. I saw that she was ready and waiting by the door for me, so I went over and picked her up into my arms.

"Are we going to make breakfast now?" She asked me.

"Oh? What's with the 'we'? Do you want to help me with breakfast today?"

"Yes, please!"

Seeing how determined she was, I relented. I was just going to have to make sure she doesn't start messing around with the sharp knives. Sure, I could heal her in the event she got hurt, but I don't even want to allow a scenario where that could happen in the first place.

"Alright, but you won't be using any knives, okay?"

She raised some objections to my limitation, but I shut them all down with a quick "I love you, and don't want to see you hurt". She still wasn't happy, but she was content with my reasoning enough to not push the topic any further. As we entered the elevator, she rested her head against my shoulder while humming away at the tunes the speakers were playing.

When we left the elevator, the kitchen area was in sight, along with an empty seating area that would usually have been teeming with life. If I was anyone else, it would have probably been a lonely sight, but living in a big estate got me used to empty rooms. I carried Eri over to the kitchen, before sitting her down near the sink.

"Can you wash your hands while I look for the aprons?"

After receiving an enthusiastic nod in response, I left to the pantry where the aprons were hung up as she cleaned her hands. Each person had their own custom embroidered apron, something my wife wanted everyone to have as it looked 'cute'. I grabbed the two with the pocket watch and the golden unicorn embroidered onto it and left only to be met with the sight of bubbles, a lot of bubbles.

With a snap of my fingers, I watched as everything happened in reverse. The obvious cause of it all? Eri, who decided to pour a lot of hand soap into the sink basin. After I reversed the area back to a point before all of the bubbles happened, and Eri still had washed her hands, I stopped reversing time.

"Have you washed your hands?" I asked, ignoring the previous bubble mountain that never happened in Eri's memory.

"Mhm! See!" She said, showing me her dripping wet hands.

I took a nearby hand towel off of one of the drawer handles and tossed it to her, which she caught, before saying,

"Perfect, now dry your hands."

Soon after she dried her hands, I took her off of the countertop, before putting her apron on her. When I finished tying her apron, she jogged off to the pantry to grab her stool which she needs to stand on to reach the countertops. While she did that, I decided to look through the kitchen so I could see what ingredients were available to me.

After double-checking for ingredients, I settled for a vegetable frittata and a couscous salad. The frittata would take way longer than the salad, as it needs to be baked, so that would be what I was tackling first. I separated the required ingredients according to their respective recipes and grabbed the required equipment while preheating the oven.

"You started without me!"

Turning to my left, I was greeted with the sight of my pouting daughter. I placed my hand on her head, before replying to her accusation,

"No, I didn't, I simply got everything needed for us before we can start."

"Hmph! I don't believe you."

"Oh~? And, why don't you believe me?"

"The light inside the oven is on!" She said in complete confidence that it would prove her point.

"Why don't you go and look at what's in the oven? I'll be expecting an apology afterward."

I watched as she confidently strutted her way to the oven before instantly deflating because there was nothing inside. She even opened it to make 100% sure, but not before she got blasted by a wave of hot air from the oven as soon as she opened it. She then trudged back to me with her head down and hugged my waist.

"I'm sorry..." I heard her muffled voice say.

"It's fine, sweetie. Now, I need you to crack some eggs into a bowl and whisk them, can you do that for me?"

"Mhm!"

Seeing her energetic again was refreshing. However, I couldn't relish her change in demeanor too much as I had to do most of the prep work for both dishes. I turned on the kettle and let that boil away as I got to chopping. I super-sped through the chopping process and stir-frying of the vegetables, before resuming back to my normal pace.

I didn't want to keep her waiting for breakfast any longer than I already did, hence why I opted to speed through the preparation work for the meals. I busied myself with random things as I watched Eri, with the most concentration I've ever seen her have, crack eggs. I could tell that she wanted to not get any shell into the bowl, even going as far as to use her quirk to fix an egg that got some shell into the bowl.

It took her 3 minutes, but she finally had the eggs in the bowl and whisked so they were all incorporated into one homogenous mixture.

"Well, done, sweetie. Now, can you pour the eggs into the pan for me? Be careful, the pan is really hot."

"All of it?"

"All of them," I confirmed.

After finishing her task, I did some more time shenanigans to make sure the eggs would be almost cooked instantly in her eyes, before placing the pan in the preheated oven after crumbling some feta cheese on top. Once it was in there, I sped up the time in the oven by 2x so it would be finished at the same time as the salad.

I heard the kettle finish boiling and poured the hot water onto the couscous that was in a bowl nearby before covering it with foil. Seeing that there was only the dressing for the couscous left, I instructed Eri on what to do after setting a timer for 5 minutes.

"After the alarm on my phone goes off, I need you to take off the foil, and stir what's inside this bowl, okay?"

Naturally, I could have sped up the process of the couscous absorbing the water. But, I also wanted to let her experience the tortu- boring side of cooking, the waiting. I did, however, give her my phone to play some games on. Which, if I think about it, defeats the entire point, but I didn't care, I was busy watching her perform consistent T-Spins on Tetris.

It was very satisfying to watch- or at least - it was until the alarm went off and the pop-up blocked the screen. I took my phone off of Eri before she dropped it in favor of a large spoon, and went to take out the frittata that was now finished. I slid the now fully cooked frittata onto a cooling rack, as I went to finish the salad.

"Did you finish stirring?"

"Yep!"

After getting confirmation, I tossed in the ingredients needed for the salad and tossed the salad to make sure that everything was coated in the dressing, and all the ingredients were evenly distributed. When everything was done, I sped up the cooling process of both dishes to make sure they wouldn't scald our mouths, before serving it up on two plates.

I left the extra food in two Tupperware containers that were in a time loop, so it wouldn't expire or go cold, before placing them on the countertop near the fridge. I made sure to write a note saying that if they want any they should contact me; otherwise, it will never digest properly, because the food won't break down in their stomach acid due to the time loop placed on it.

"Sweetie, you go and put your step back along with your apron, while I clean up here."

Cleaning up didn't take any time at all, I just had to open the drawers and cupboards where I retrieved the equipment from, and watch them go flying back to their initial places as I cleaned them with Chronokinesis and lifted them with Telekinetic quirks.

When Eri came back from her little errand, we both happily ate away at the filling breakfast before I took her to Fluffy-chan. She still had her lessons- or rather -playtime with Fluffy-chan scheduled during this week, there was no change in schedule for her. Which was to be expected, as she wasn't a hero course student.

I then spent the rest of the day with Fluffy-chan and Eri assorted board games, to which I cheated on occasion. I wasn't above cheating, especially when I could cheat without anyone knowing any better. In fact, it would be an irresponsible misuse of power for me NOT to cheat. So, I did the right thing by cheating.

Fluffy-chan did ask me to implement the upgrades to the facilities, one large upgrade was the addition of an entirely new building that had training rooms in them. The rooms were small initially before I used distance manipulation to make it so they were bigger on the inside.

There were 40 of those rooms, completely reinforced with various fictional metals so they wouldn't break, in total. The rooms had various ways to augment the inside such as gravity reduction/increasing, etc. On the outside of the door, people had to set a timer for how long they wanted to train and what modifier for the time alteration they would want, which would sound an alarm inside the room when the time was up, so they didn't spend days on end training without realizing. There was a maximum limit for training capped at 12 hours inside the chambers.

That alone would increase the results of UA's hero course students by a considerable margin, especially so for those who applied for the keycard so they could train after lessons were over. Sadly, they won't see any use for the first week of implementation by the hero course students, as they were all on internships currently. Well, apart from Shinso, who was unwillingly dragged over there alongside Bakugo, who wasn't allowed to take any actual internships because of his behavior, but that's beside the point.

Fluffy-chan also informed me, during one of our heated games of scrabble, which I miraculously lost, that the process of obtaining the required permits and licenses for the teleportation company was nearing completion. I only needed to wait three days for the final pieces of paperwork to be processed before I could finally start building the business officially.

My day was rather peaceful compared to yesterday. But, that was a given as I didn't feel like my cells were set ablaze for an hour. Yes, it took an entire hour of torture to awaken my quirk, around 4-6x longer than anyone else's that I've done so far.

After tucking Eri into bed, I couldn't help but give off a little sigh. I hoped that I would get more answers to help me in solving the riddle about this 'Victoria' person who is somehow related to my forgotten memories. They appeared in my mind as I was sleeping, so I had hoped that everytime I slept naturally, tidbits of information would flow into me like last time.

Momo had already returned and went to sleep a few minutes ago, leaving me to drift off to unconsciousness after her. Which was proving to be a difficult task with the vice-grip hug she had me in. But, I managed it every other time, so I knew I could do it tonight too. Eventually, I fell asleep.

During my slumber, instead of my hysterical laughing, I was met with only a singular voice. It was oddly familiar to me, which should have been obvious if these were my memories, and it spoke out to me.

"Mother… As much as it pains me to do so, I shall grant you your wish. I hope you can change for the better… you were once so kind."

It was almost mournful, but their voice was laced with nothing but love. I tried to speak out to the voice, to get answers in the weird hope that it could hear me, but nothing came out. I should have expected that result, it was only a memory after all, and not a dream I could otherwise influence.

I woke up in a cold sweat, in a lonely bed, soon after the voice finished speaking. It answered no questions of mine, other than the fact that I now knew that there was a person that repressed my memories... and they were related to me. The bombshell that I was a mother to a child was something that I didn't need detonating in my conscience right now.

Who is/was my child? What was my wish? Why did I apparently stop being kind?

All questions I wanted answers to, but knew I couldn't get them until tomorrow, and even then, there was only a chance that I was able to unlock a memory that related to those topics.

Creation is hard, cheer me up! Love the book? Review it!

If you've read the pokemon book, you would know that I'm a little burned out. I wrote 25k~ words, in two chapters, in two sittings within a week for it, which burned me out.

This chapter is just another slice-of-life, because it's in the tags, might as well write a chapter like this, even though they tend to be a bit boring for everyone.
