Chapter 6: Acquaintance

I wanted to tell Justine that I have talked to the guy, and is name is Jace and that he agreed to go to the cafe with me, the day I have both her and Noelle rides home. But I couldn't because Noelle was present. And I have been trying to but I could find the right time and as my schedule could have it, I was now so occupied with my homeworks and being the school president has added fuel to the fire, so I haven't found any free time at home to give her a call because of our schedule differences and Noelle being around most of the time at School.

But it is all about to come to an end, today. As luck may have it, Noelle has music practice which was fixed to lunch time, so she eat with us and so currently me and Justine have gotten our lunch and we are already seated, when she asks

"Any progress with that guy"

"You still don't know his name" I teased then started to chew on my pepperoni pizza

"No I don't, because a particular friend of mine said she was gonna find that out, and so I should leave it to her, but obviously she hasn't" she said sarcastically then rolled her eyes.

I started laughing

"What?" she asks with a scowl, "what's funny"

I smiled then replied "I was only just teasing you, I actually talked to him during home economics last Tuesday and I know his name now and he's also sort of my friend now"

"Oh, really?"

"Of course"

"I thought you would never grow the balls to approach him, I really thought I was the one you would ask to do it later" she smirked

"Well I grew the balls to drive a car, unlike you, so talking to him was an easy task I was just waiting for the perfect time to do so"

"Shut up" she said in response to my comment about driving, then proceeded "So what's his name?"

I finished the last bit of my pizza then answered " Jace Urrea"

"Wow, he has a nice name" she said dramatically

I rolled my eyes at her, then said "that was what I thought"

"Have you told him anything about Noelle"

"I haven't talked to him since that day" I deadpanned

"Then your job ain't complete, make him aware of Noelle then try to get out his opinion about her" she replied

"How do I do that" I pouted

"Like a friend does, hangout with him and all"

"So technically, I have to be his close friend"

"And you have to be fast about it, you know today is Monday and next week Thursday is the D-Day"

"yeah" I answered

Justine stands up

"I have to get going , I have chemistry next and Mr Lee gets mad whenever he arrives into the class before any student"

"I guess I will stay till after the bell is being rung, see you at the parking lot later"

"Okay" she waved and went in the direction of her next class.

I checked my wrist watch and saw that there is still a few minutes left before lunch time is over, I take out my phone, the latest model of iPhone given to me by my mum as a birthday gift last year and started playing one new game I downloaded some time ago.

"Any" I heard from behind me all of a sudden, I was startled and almost dropped my phone, but was quick to catch it before it fell.

"Hey" I turned around and greeted

"Sorry about that" Jace chuckled slightly

"It's no problem, was just startled"

"Sure, can I sit here with you till the bell is rung"

"Not a problem" I said with a smile

He pulled out the chair beside me, the one Justine just stood up from. After he was seated he started

"You know, you are my very first friend I have made since my arrival at this school"

I was surprised at this, because obviously a lot of people have been wanting to be close to him; the guys want to be his friends and the girls all want to date him but I guess he didn't notice after all.

"Shy much?"

"Can't possibly say shy, I don't know how to explain this" he paused and ran his hand through his jet black hair and my eyes couldn't help but look at his face closely, he his just so hot I thought to myself, as hot as a Greek God....

Oh my God, I snapped at my subconscious, get your mind out of the gutter, he's somebody I should be matching with my friend not drooling over.

"I don't think they want to be friends with me" he continued "I mean you approached me and asked to be friends and here we are now..." he gestured with his slender fingers

"No no no, that isn't the concept of making friends" I interjected " I doesn't necessarily have to be them who approaches you first... and mind you I am sure alot if these guys" I waved my hands around "wants to be friends with you"

"Alright then, we will see, and I think am gonna leave now, there's two more minutes till lunch ends

"Yeah me too" I stood up and he did too

"Can you please tell me the direction to the library and block c, I am supposed to have a economics class there after lunch, and I still haven't gotten the hang of the school map given to me"

"It happens often" I replied "the school library is just a few meters away from block G"

"The block where our literature class holds?"

"Yes that's it, and block C is closest to the field, which is where am having my next class, I should probably walk you there, if you don't mind?"

"Of course not, thanks Any" he smiled

"You are welcome Jace " I said and smiled back
