Chapter 11 : Free Points

3rd Person POV

Some time had passed since Nayun left. Hajin and Rachel continued their breakfast normally. After finishing, Rachel went to take her daily exercise while Hajin opened his Laptop and started checking if there were any changes from the Original Storyline.

A few hours fast and it was almost noon. Rachel had returned and was sitting on one of the chairs while cleaning the blade of her Rapier.

"Rachel! I'm going to hunt some monsters so I can collect some points. You wanna come?"

"Oh? Sure, But wouldn't I just steal your points?"

"Don't worry about that. I'm sure you won't be a problem."

"If you say so."

After that, they went more inside the forest and Hajin guided Rachel to the spot he usually hunts at.

When they arrived, some monsters like the Grizzly Bear and a wild boar were drinking water from the river that was flowing there. There are also some smaller monsters around, but unlike the Bear and the Boar that offered 10 points each, the other ones were only 1 to 2 points to it'd be a waste of time to hunt them one by one.

They were both on top of the branches of a tree. Hajin was holding his training gun while Rachel had her rapier out, ready to strike any time.

"Hey Rachel. How about I shoot the Grissly Bear and you attack the boar. The bear has thick skin, so your rapier would have a hard time. Whereas the wild boar is more faster, but its skin is not that sturdy compared to the bear." Hajin said while explaining the monsters' weaknesses.

"Okay."

"Than, on 3."

Rachel shot herself towards the boar with great speed with a jump from a higher point that the boar. The sound caused both the monsters to become alert.

Rachel fused the Rapier's blade with some magic power and went for the head. In one strike, the head of the boar was sent flying. However, she didn't look towards the bear who was now behind her.

The bear rushed towards Rachel, but just than, 2 gun shots could be heared at almost the same time. Rachel turned behind with a smile as she had hunted the boar successfully.

What happened here was that while Rachel went towards the boar, the bear's angle from Hajin's perspective was not that good. When the Bear rushed towards Rachel, it gave a lot of openings. Hajin who was ready to shot quickly did so. One bullet hit the Bear on its head just above the left eye.

But it wasn't enough to kill the bear. However, Hajin hadn't finished. He quickly shot another bullet at the exact same spot while using [Master Sharpshooter]. The bullet hit the bear and it fell on the ground. Hajin jumped down from the tree and went towards the bear to collect his points.

"That was a lot of fire power for a training gun, Hajin."

"Hmm? That's because I fused it with Magic."

"But I thought you couldn't use Magic."

"Well I can't. But I can fuse it with weapons to increase their fire power and other characteristics."

"But the bullets from back when you killed the Djjins weren't embeded with Magic Power..."

"Ah, that's because they were not. I used my personal weapon than."

"...But wouldn't bringing a personal weapon to an exam be cheating? You could even get expelled."

"Yes. That's why I ask you to keep it a secret, okay?"

"*Sigh* Of course... Its not like I can do much about it anyways since it was the thing that saved my life."

"Haha, I guess so."

After collecting points, they were on their way back to the tent. However, it looks like nature had other plans for the both of them.

Hajin had went ahead just in case to check something but it looks like he had encountered someone.

"Oh? We meet again!" Yun Seung Ah said energetically while rushing towards him. Another proctor was following her from behind, it seemed like he was her lackey.

"Ah Yes, How I hoped we wouldn't..." Hajin said while looking dissatisfied by the encounter.

"Aw why's that? Am I not fun enough?" She said while mimicking a crying face as she shed some fake tears.

"Enough with this. I'm going."

"Wait! Don't you want points?!"

"Why would I when I already have how much I wanted."

"No! This is an Exam with great Competition. You should earn as much points as you can."

"I don't care. Now if you could just let me go."

*swish*

"Hm? Who's there?" Yun Seung Ah said while increasing her guard.

It was Rachel who came from behind as Hajin had went ahead to check on things. Now she wished that he hadn't though.

"Mmm... Hajin, what is going on here?"

"Ah its nothing, just an annoying women trying to block our way."

"Hey! I heard that!" Yun Seung Ah shouted while glaring at me.

"I don't care. Anyways, lets go, Rachel."

"Mm, ok----"

"W-wait!"

"What now?!" Hajin said, clearly showing that he was annoyed.

"Lets have a deal!" Yun Seung Ah said energetically.

"What deal?"

"If you're able to make me move even a single step. I'll give you my name-tag. That's basically 200 points you know?"

"Add the name tag of that lackey as well."

"Isn't that too much?!"

"Than I'm leaving."

"Wait n-no! Okay fine, you got the deal. But if you fail, you have to give me all of your points."

"I disagree."

"Why? Isn't that unfair?!"

"No, it's not. Besides, I wasn't the one who wanted this in the first place."

"...fine." She said while letting out a sigh and than just stood there casually. From an outsider's point of view, she looked to be ignorant and care-free for this type of game, but from Hajin's view, she had confirmed that there were no openings.

Hajin began to think of a way to get the name-tag. Than a thought came to him, she never said that he couldn't surprise her. Besides, Rachel was also with him. If he got the 2 name-tags, it would benifit them each greatly. That's what he wanted as well.

But he wanted to surprise her. So he didn't take a real stance and only adjusted his direction. He than used [Teleport] to get out of her eye sight and than [Long dash] while putting in a large amount of SP and instantly appeared behind Yun Seung Ah.

"Boo!"

"AH?!?!" She was taken aback as she hadn't expected him to be so fast. It wasn't that she couldn't see it, but that she was just surprised to see it. But that suprise was enough time for Hajin to take her name-tag.

After doing so, he quickly used [double dash]. In the first dash, he went to the other proctor and quickly snitched his name-tag as well and used the second dash to went back.

Hajin still had a lot of SP, so he used another [Long Dash] with even greater amount of SP than previously and quickly went towards Rachel.

Rachel, who couldn't understand what was happening was surprised when Hajin suddenly appeared beside her.

"Sorry for this but we gotta go." He said while quickly lifting her in a princess carry position. Rachel was taken aback and was now a blushing mess.'

"W-w-wha?!" She said but was unable to finish her sentense.

"We gotta go now. Thanks for the points, instructor-nim." He said while giving a smirk to Yun Seung Ah who was standing there, unable to comprehend the situation.

Hajin than used [Teleportation] to quickly get away. Normally, it could only cover small distances and on top of that, only the ones that the User can see. But since Hajin exerted a lot of SP this time, it's abilities were enchanced and he and Rachel teleported all the way back to their camp.

Now at the place, there were only two people, Yun Seung Ah and the other proctor, both with poker faces, but one could tell that this was because the surprise was too much for them to expect from a cadet.

"H-hey boss, what just h-happened...?" The other proctor said, still stuttering from the sheer surprise.

"....I don't know too..."

They just stood there, than the realization finally came like a bitch.

"How are we gonna tell the higher ups about this...?Doesn't this mean they are already in the top 2 just by our name tags?" The proctor asked again.

"...I don't know that too..." Yun Seung Ah replied, while staring at the empty spot where Hajin had previously been, silently.

Hajin and Rachel had came back to their tent. They had went inside the tent and sat on the table, although... Rachel still only had two emotions on her face, Confusion and Embarrassment.

"Umm... Rachel?"

"Y-yeah h-hajin?"

"Why do you have that look on your face?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, your face is as red as a tomato, but you're also looking confused. Is there a problem?"

"A-AH N-no. I was just taken aback on how you could teleport... and"

"And?"

"...How you acted at that time." She said while grabbing her arm with her left arm with her right hand.

"Uh... Sorry about that..." He said almost instantly. It seemed that he was genuinely sorry about it. But deep inside, he was happy. Happy about...

Okay *Cough Cough* enough with that.

"Ah you don't need to say sorry. I was just taken by surprise. Really, its nothing!" She said while trying to assure Hajin, a light red tint still visible on her face, albeit very slightly.

"Are you sure?" He said to confirm it. This was because he knew that Rachel was, after all, sensitive to other people touching her originally.

"Yeah!" She said while putting force behind her words.

"Thank you. Now, lets continue what we were doing. And sorry about keeping it a secret from you that I could use such abilities even though we're teammates..."

"Its okay, everyone has their own secrets that they don't want to tell others." She said while smiling.

"...I will tell you everything one day, I promise."

"Y-you don't need to, but thank you."

"Ah its nothing. I actually feel sad that I have to hide something from a teammate, especially when its you."

"Okay." She said as both of them turned in opposite directions. It was already almost night. Hajin went to prepare dinner while Rachel went to sit on the chair, albeit not before picking up Evandel's seed that had escaped from Hajin's pocket.

She had gotten surprisingly closer to it in the past few days. It wasn't even a weak yet, but they looked like great friends from the outside.

Meanwhile, Hajin was cooking pork for dinner. He than suddenly remembered that he wanted to give one of the name-tags to Rachel.

"Ah whatever, lets just give it to her after dinner."

After saying that to himself, he continued preparing dinner

** A Few minutes later **

"Dinner's ready!" He shouted as he came inside the tent and placed the plates on the table.

"Coming!" Rachel shouted from outside. She had gone outside of the tent as she wanted to enjoy the bright and star-filled sky that was rarely viewable if one was in cube or any other bussy place.

She entered the tent while Evandel was on her shoulder and sat on the chair. Evandel also came down and went towards the table. It seemed like she was playing with Evandel while outside.

"Oh. It looks like you and Evandel have become great friends."

"I guess..." she said while patting Evandel who was now on her shoulders.

Hajin also sat down on the chair as both of them started eating their food.

** After Dinner*&

"Ah that was so good~" Hajin said as he strenched his body and let out a relieved sigh.

"I agree. Hajin's cooking is always good."

"You flattter me, Rachel. But thanks." He said appreciating her praise.

"Ah, I forgot."

"Hmm?" Rachel tiled her head cutely as Hajin took out a small rectangular place from his pocket.

"Take this."

"What is this?" she said while examining the strange item that her teammate had give her. But when she turned the small plate in the opposite direction, her eyes widenedshe instatly froze.

"Its a name-plate." Hajin said while smilling, as if it wasn't a big deal.

"Huh? W-why are you giving me this???" Rachel said seemingly flusted and unable to hold back her shock from showing on her face.

"Hmm? Is something wrong?"

"...Everything's wrong! How am I supposed to even accept this?I can't do that, Hajin earned this by himself."

"But its okay though. I have two of them, but one alone is enough for me."

"But-"

"But if someone sees my final score like this, they'll get suspecious and I don't want that."

"..."

"Besides, I'm not asking for a favor or something. You're my teammate, and its normal for teammates to share their loot right? And you help me a lot too!"

"...If you say it like that, than even I can't deny it. Fine, but promise that you will let me reward you for this much when we get back at least."

"Ah, no need. You're already helping me Rachel. Besides, its less boring for me with you around." Hajin said with a smile on her face. But Rachel didn't seem to get it, or rather, she misunderstood his words and now had a blush on her face while steam was coming out from her head.

"Is something wrong?!" Hajin asked, worried that she might have a fever or something.

"N-n-no! I'm fine!" She said while averting her eyes. Hajin could only chuckle at her antiques that caused her to be even more embarrassed.

"Anyways, I'm going to sleep!" She said as she quickly went towards the bed, layed down, and hid herself below the blanket.

'Haha, No one would believe that this is Rachel if they saw her act like this.' He thought of her behaviour being cute, but didn't say it aloud as he didn't had the courage to.

After some seconds, he also went to his futon and layed down.

Just like that, another day had ended. Tomorrow was the last day of the exam, as well as the day when the Butterfly monster will appear and Suho would get the golden dust. However, Unfortunately for Suho, Hajin already had other plans for the golden dust so he won't be getting it anytime soon.
