Chapter 5: Who's He?

The loud buzzing startled me awake. I was never a morning person so I struggled to get out of bed for most days. I had slapped my alarm to snooze and sat up.

Feeling my neck and the tenderness of my skin, I had fallen asleep with my shirt on. No just my shirt but all the clothes from yesterday. My shoes were even still on my feet.

Because of situations like this, I wake up early so I can fix my mistakes. I grabbed my uniform and headed to the bathroom and started my shower. 'Is this really going to be my year?' I thought to myself as I thought of Mom's comment from yesterday.

'I'm really not that good looking, but the only noticable thing girls might like is my body.' I had a well defined body from cycling for several years. I hopped out of the shower, got dressed and headed downstairs.

Dad casually sat at the table eating, while he was scrolling through the news app on his phone. Mom was next to him lightly humming to herself. She loved the mornings, she says it because she gets to see the family together and that we are her favorite thing in her life.

I quietly sat across from my mom with a plate of food. She smiled at me as if she was a teenager in love again. But that is my mom for ya, she has a large heart for the people she cares about.

"I need to buy some spray paint." I said as I shoveled food into my mouth.

"What for son?" Dad spoke as he sipped his morning brew of coffee.

"I plain on painting my bike."

"Ok, you have your card. Just buy what you need and let me know how much it is."

I gently smiled at my parents before finishing my food and heading to the garage. My parents had always allowed me to spend there money, then know I will always ask before even doing anything.

'The Reject' I thought as I stared at the bike. Each part had a different color to it but it was still one color. The bike was a grey-blue color with some darker or lighter spots here and there. But overall the bike looked somewhat new, if not new then well used.

It was already 6am, and school starts at 8. I didn't know how long it will take me to get to school, so I put the location in the GPS and put headphones on and played my music.

The rubber against the road made a low hum as I road down the street. I passed cars and people along the way and after only thirty minutes I arrived at the school. I hopped off the bike and unrolled my pant leg and guided my bike to a parking slot.

"Look at him." I heard someone.

"It looks like he was in a sauna."

"Is he smoking?"

I felt several curious eyes on me, but ignore them. I tried to ignore there words but I couldn't. It was then that I realized, steam rolled off my body in the cool autumn air.

I quickly locked my bike up and headed to the office to get my schedule. And I walked to my first class the bell rang out. 'Shit, I am late on my first day.'

I knocked on the classroom door and I heard the sound of muffled talking go silent. The classroom door opens up and a tall then woman stood in front of me.

"Speak of the devil." She said with a smile and pulled me into the room. She was about the same hight as me. I was a out 189cm tall, but she as just a little bit smaller than me.

"Class we have a new student. Please treat him well." She said with a bright smile.

"I'm Jack." I said softly as I slightly waved my hand to the class.

There was a low murmur throughout the room. 'I hate this so much.' I felt all there eyes and I can feel there judgements. I felt the sweat start to build up on my forehead.

"Jack?!" A voice called out at the back of the class.

I looked up and saw a girl in the back of the class. Her hair was parted to the side and she had glasses on.

"Yeah?" I was confused. 'She seems familiar?' I thought.

"So how is 'The Reject'?" She said with a smirk.

When she mentioned my bike, I knew instantly who it was. It was Lexi, I was cought off guard by her appearance. The glasses, her hair, and the school uniform that hugged her body. It made her look like a well kept business woman. 'God damn.' I thought as a shiver ran down my spine.

"He got her to talk."

"How is that possible."

"Reject?"

The other students seem to be surprised by what just happened. As if they don't know her or anything.

"Jack, go take the seat next to Lexi. It seems you two know each other." The teacher said with a faint smile.

I took my seat and noticed that people kept taking glances at me through our class. It seems they want to know mine and Lexi's relationship. It was hard for me to get through class without the feeling of being watched.

Soon the bell rang and it was already lunch time. I didn't bring lunch but I also didn't feel that much hungry. All the other students avoided me, like I was a rabid animal. I sat there for a moment before I felt a hand on my shoulder.
