Chapter 1

"You good for nothing bastard! who do you think you're talking to?" The man in the wine suit yelled at Adrian. "Sir please calm down your order will arrive in a minute," Adrian said trying to calm down the enraged businessman.

"I believe you don't know who I am that is why you are talking to me in that manner." The man said still not calming down. Adrian bowed his head and said, "with all due respect sir, as long as you don't have a VIP pass you will be treated like any other customer."

The words spoken by Adrian angered the man even more making him want to hit him. Adrian quickly withdrew and shouted Security! Not long after the man was escorted out of the three-star restaurant.

There was pin-drop silence as everyone was looking at Adrian and the disgraced businessman.

"Adrian!" shouted a man at the far end of the restaurant, the man had deep brown eyes and was wearing a chef hat. "the order is ready.". "Sorry but that won't be necessary, you could serve it to another customer who made the same order," Adrian said in reply.

After Adrian's shift was over he dropped his apron and walked out of the restaurant making his way to his apartment.

Adrian opened the door walked in and took off his worn-out shoes. There was a noise in the living room which sounded like his television. He silently walked to the living room and then saw someone who he didn't expect.

"Father!" Adrian shouted. The old man with his grey beard took a look at Adrian and then said "It's been a while, you've grown so tall and handsome. Your mom and sister miss you so much, if they see you now they would be overjoyed."

"Dad, it's been ages how's my sister hope she didn't get into too much trouble?". There was a long silence before Adrian spoke again, "anyway how did you get inside". "I'm the one who bought your apartment so don't you think I would have an extra key?".

Adrian smiled, "So why are you here? your not supposed to see me till I'm 18". "Well I've been keeping an eye on you, your birthday is coming soon and you'll soon be 16 years old. I just thought I should drop by and tell you some important information".

"So what would that be?" Adrian asked with concern. "it would be that you have been selected out of the many to join a particular schooling program in Asia which involves people using their intellectual talents to maintain a high academic score and as well graduate with a very large amount of points. The points determine which institution you will be going to."

"As your father, the paperwork was handed over to me to take care of so I came over to tell you before you changed schools."

Adrian thought for a while before looking at his father's face and then replied "I am truly happy that you came to ask me before changing my school, I will accept this offer. Just give me a few days to pack my things and say bye to my friends.",

"very well, the driver will pick you up after the weekend, pack your things and be prepared."

Adrian Sung was a very young and handsome man, he had bright yellow eyes that matched that of his mother and also had blond to yellow hair. He had a fit body and a very attractive smile. The only thing that pushed people away from him was because he was poor, or rather they assumed he was poor.

Adrian's father Jin Sung was a multi-billionaire and owned one of the biggest phone companies in the whole of Asia. His father had black-lined hair, deep blue eyes, and an attractive smile just like Adrian.

The Sung family had a tradition like a few other rich private families to send their children away for training before taking on the family business. Adrian was taken away from his family in Asia and was taken to the US, his mother's birth country at the age of ten.

The family tradition states that the child will be taken at the age of ten till he is eighteen, then he/she will inherit the family business. During the period he is taken away no one outside family friends and relatives must know, he/she must not be given a large allowance and he/she must work hard to graduate with an excellent score before being allowed back to the family.

Adrian's allowance was very small which was making his feeding difficult. To build a larger allowance he got a job as a waiter in a three-star restaurant.

Later that weekend Adrian went over to Master Diner to dine with his friends one last time. His friends Josh and Mark were students just like him. Josh was planning to study Business just like Adrian while Mark was planning to study Programming.

The three were very close and they had only one thing in common, they didn't have a lot of money. They had been planning their dinners in Master Diner whenever they had the chance.

"Adrian you're late!" Mark shouted. "sorry something came up on my way here" Adrian replied.

The three men sat down on their seats and waited for their order. It took a while but a fine young girl who looked about sixteen came over to their seats and asked for their order Mark and Josh took their orders and were about to continue chatting when they noticed that she was smiling at Adrian.

Adrian just smiled back and took his order. Soon after their food was served and everyone began to eat and enjoy their meal.

"I wish we were as lucky as you are Adrian, you so handsome and smart. Girls give you so much attention while not even giving notice to us." Mark said.

"Ya the only thing missing now is the money, but don't feel too bad by the time we're out of school we will earn enough to take care of everyone," Josh said in addition to what Mark said.

Adrian just smiled and then said, "my older sister in Scotland has decided to bring me over to study with her."

The two friends were in shock. Little did they know Adrian had lied to them saying he had an older sister in Scotland who has been paying for his schooling and accommodation. He also lied that his parents had died in a fire when he was younger but his sister was already on a scholarship to Scotland.

"Don't get the wrong idea, Adrian, sure we're happy for you but why so sudden," Josh said.

"I was just told yesterday it seems she did it as a surprise" Adrian lied again.

"we're gonna miss you, bro," Mark said while smiling. "I'm gonna miss you guys too but don't worry ill find a way to get in contact with you".

After the meal, the three friends hugged and then walked off to their respective accommodations.
