Skrull Thor Part VI

Roaring, Thor released a powerful beam of energy from his eyes that struck against the side of the pink jewelled body. Upon impact, an explosion erupted, a shout of pain coming from within as Xorr fell back. From the side, the Kronan came rushing through the air, rocky fist pulled back as numerous energy bolts formed around his body, each shooting forth and exploding against the God-Jewel.

On the ground, Horde and the Centaurian unleashed dozens of their own energy bolts. The latter fired his Yaka arrows and released low whistles as to control their trajectory. Up above, the Kronan and Kree coming down, fists drawn back and ready to clash against him.

The battle against Xorr the God-Jewel had begun nought but a few hours ago. Early on, it had been difficult, the strength, durability and its ability to project energy were all way beyond their own. It had been overwhelming in the beginning and they had not been very willing to work alongside each other, despite their initial plan relying upon it.

All had tried to fight Xorr in their own way, uncaring of what other plans their teammates had. It led to them all getting in each other's way and causing a huge amount of problems. However, each of those chosen for the Lifestone Tree were former warriors, veterans of numerous wars.

They each recognised their faults and those of their allies and whether it be willingly or unwillingly, they adapted. All of them without saying a word began to work together, covering each other's weaknesses and aiding their strengths. Once they did, the flow of the battle changed, from a desperate need for survival to flipping it on its head and overwhelming Xorr the God-Jewel.

Yet the durability that Xorr possessed kept him in the fight, the near bottomless well of power he held kept on being unleashed at them. It required them all to keep themselves prepared and on edge.

However, now things were beginning to finally come to an end.

Xorr was being chipped away bit by bit.

'Horde can finish it off now.' Thor thought watching as the Kree and Kronan quickly backpedalled away from Xorr. 'It's time to collect what I'm owed.'

Taking a moment, Thor stopped attacking Xorr and fell back, dropping to his knees and acting like he was exhausted. As he did, Thor reached into his back pocket, pulling out the three Lifestone Jewels and placing them into the empty holes on his suit. Along with the Alpha Stone that he had been gifted by the Skrull Empire, there was the Blood Gem taken from the Dire Wraith, the so-called God Stone from the Badoon and then the Moon Stone from the Shi'ar.

Each provided a wide range of powers, but the one thing he didn't have was flight. That left him unable to reach the Kronan and the Kree, meaning that their gems the Ka Stone and Azure Gem were out of his hands. Or that would be if he didn't have a few long-ranged attacks that he could use to get them down on his level.

"H'loridi?! Are you okay?!" Looking up, Thor noticed the Centaurian rushing towards him, rushing through a number of rock formations.

As the Centaurian crouched down, going to check on him, Thor looked up and released two beams of energy directly into his chest. They struck him, but before they could do any serious damage, he suddenly became intangible, the beams going through his body.

"What are you doing?!" The Centaurian cried out, stumbling away.

Pushing himself to his feet, Thor showcased the four Lifestone Jewels upon his chest. "I'm taking what's mine."

"You?! It was you that killed them?!"

"Yes. Now hand over the Power Prism." Thor ordered, hand extended and the Centaurian scowled angrily, one arrow notched into his bow as he pulled it back.

"I will not."

"Then I'm afraid I have to kill you," Thor said, taking a single step forth before seemingly disappearing in a blur. The Centaurian had already acted accordingly, his body becoming intangible as he released the Yaka Arrow in the general direction Thor was coming from. Avoiding it was simple, Thor leaning his head to one side and letting the arrow fly past his face as he closed in.

He was fast, so much so that he managed to land a blow before all of the Centuarians body became intangible.

Gasping out, the Centaurian was flung back, body becoming solid once more as he bounced and skidded along the ground before coming to a stop. As he pushed himself up with a groan, Thor landed behind him and flipped the Centaurian other with one arm.

Yet before Thor could even go for the Power Prism upon his chest, the Kronan came flying in, energy bolts shooting towards the Skrull. Leaping away, Thor dodged the energy bolts, the Centaurian becoming intangible once more to avoid damage. Flipping through the air, Thor landed quickly, one hand shooting out and tendrils of telekinetic energy shooting forth and wrapping around the Kronan.

With a shout, he threw his hand down, the Kronan suddenly dragged out of the air and slammed into the ground.

Rising up, Thor looked to see the Kronan already getting to his feet also, the Centaurian at his side. In the sky, the Kree had broken away as in the distance, Horde began to unleash his full power upon Xorr the God-Jewel.

Had it gone as well as Thor had expected or hoped?

No, but then again, he wouldn't have wanted it to be easy in the first place. 'There's no fun if there's no challenge.' He may have changed and adapted to this new world and his position within it, but some things just couldn't be changed.

Floating in the air, Thor held the Kree, his right arm entirely made of rock like the Kronans. Reaching out with his free hand, Thor ripped the Ka Stone from his chest and with a slight flex, crushed the Kree's neck in an instant.

Smiling triumphantly, Thor placed the Ka Stone onto his chest armour, completing the set. His armour was decorated with all eight of the Lifestone Jewels, something he had always envisioned and prepared for. Now it was finally complete, but Thor knew it was not enough.

Even with all the Lifestone Gems, even with the entirety of Xorr at his disposal, Thor knew he couldn't save his people, couldn't save Loki. Odin's power was vast, his knowledge and understanding of the Cosmos even greater. He possessed centuries of experience in warfare and Thor knew that he wouldn't be able to beat him.

What he had, wasn't enough.

Thor needed more.

Hearing a loud thump, the ground he just landed upon shaking violently, he turned to see Xorr laid out upon the ground. Head rolling to a stop a few miles away from his body and standing upon it, Horde rose up.

However, Thor was more focused upon the crystal shard embedded into his forehead.

With that shard, Horde stood as the most powerful of them all, even with four Lifestone Jewels, Thor knew he wouldn't stand a chance. But he didn't have just four anymore, now he had all eight. 'He would have never let me go free anyway.' As he thought that, Thor watched Horde turn to him.

Upon Thor's chest, the Blood Gem glowed, a third eye opening upon his forehead. An eye that granted him a number of abilities, including understanding someone completely. Looking upon Horde, Thor could already tell what his intention was and honestly, he wouldn't have even needed the Blood Gem to know what Horde was about to do.

Mere moments later, Horde unleashed a powerful beam of energy directly at Thor who responded in kind with his own.
