Chapter 3

"Congratulations on your new life, I think the sun is risi-"

"What? Yumi?! Hey! Yumi! Wake up Yumi!" B-breathe! I should check to see if he is breathing! I carefully laid him down in bed, and I completely saw his neck full of bruises. I check to see if he is still breathing by putting my head under his chest. Thankfully, he just collapsed from sucking his blood off. I wiped his body with a towel and warm water. I put some ointment on his neck, hoping that would help it heal.

I secretly give him a peck on the forehead and lay down next to him. While staring at his beautiful face, I still always felt the same feeling I had when I first saw him.

Ten years earlier

After my birthday, my family will move out and find a new place. That has been our life every year, and that is why I do not have friends. After I reach the age of seven, the new place they find is the seaside. Almost no residents lived there.

One day, when my parents are sleeping, I sneak out because I want to see and touch the water in the sea. I successfully got to see and play there on the seashore. One man with long black hair approached me, saying "Little lord, your mom and dad asked me to take you there.". I do not know him and I know my parents surely did not know him either. I just said that I still want to play more while trying to walk away. He suddenly grabbed my hands, and not long after he was hit in the face by some object, I jumped back to avoid the object. At that moment, the man ran away and then I saw my parents running to me. They immediately get me and run away to that place.

As they carried me, I saw that the object hit by the man had smoke. I follow back the sight where it comes from; shockingly, it was also a child like me who hit the stranger man. He was walking away, but I undoubtedly saw his beautiful face before he turned back. He is none other than Fuyumi, my savior.

A day after that incident, my parents told me that we would leave again because they had found a new place. That is also the first time that we will move out after a short period of time. I am in despair that I will not see Fuyumi anymore. While we are in the car, dad and mom are arguing about something that I did not pay attention to because I cannot imagine that my first love just ended that way.

I was contemplating on how I will go back in there when I grow up to find Fuyumi when mom suddenly shouted, "I said all of this is not your fault!" I just quietly stare at them. "Hey Miyuki, listen, Mom and Dad just loved each other so much, and we are even more grateful that we have you now", she added while she was starting to cry. My dad also started to cry and said, "I am really sorry that I cannot protect you and Miyuki; I love you both so much". That was our last moment together. Our car fell from the sea cliff; that was the last thing I remembered.

When I wake up, I am already in our apartment, where we are living now. Fuyumi said that he saw some enormous thing fall in the sea not far from where he was at that moment and when he got close to it, our car was already sinking. He only managed to save me. He tried to come back to the scene, but the car was already sunk deep into the sea.

At the age of eight, he already knew all the part time jobs; he originally lived in the city, he was just visiting his parents' graveyard when we saw him. He was only seven when his parents passed away, and after that, he decided to take all the jobs that fit him and did not bother to go to school.

He offers me to study while he does the jobs, and he says that I can just pay him back after I become successful someday. I studied hard to make sure that I got scholarships to help him lessen the expenses. His hard work and dedication paid off when one of his jobs offered him the opportunity to become a regular and later a manager.

I know that we were destined from the very first time we met. We have already shared the moments through ups and downs; revealing something about my true identity will not affect my love for him. All I just want to make sure of is that no matter what will happen, I will protect him even if it costs my life.

I woke up and Yumi was nowhere to be found!
