The moment Alex and Raphael enter the hospital, they we're ushered into the emergency room. "I hate emergencies. I would rather love to be in the blue snow." Raphael grunted as he wore his lab coat. "Who likes emergencies?" Alex retorted as he also wear his lab coat. Alex and Raphael operated 3 hours non stop on a single patient.
A panicked voice was heard as two girls rushed into the hospital. "I need to see my mum" Alicia kept on shouting. "Alicia, slow down or you are gonna trip. We can't have two victims now can we?" Chloe scolds as she tries to match Alicia's pace. "It's my mum we are talking about. She can't die on me." Alicia scre caught amed as she ran faster as if possessed. She starts to open each ward where victims of emergencies are kept but couldn't find her mum. Her arm was caught by a nurse "Miss calm down please. Tell us the details of the patient you are looking for." The nurse requested politely. "Catherine David" Alicia says hurriedly. "Okay. Let me check her details." The nurse look for the name on the tab she is holding then says "Go to the 10th ward miss. The patient is -----" Alicia run before the nurse could complete her sentence. "Mum please be safe, mum please be safe" she keep on repeating as she run.
"She will be safe. You do not need to put your self in danger" Chloe says. Alicia opens the door to the 10th ward and is shocked when she sees more victims inside that were unattended to. Though their injuries isn't that serious, still they should have been looked after by a nurse or two. "Mum, mum" Alicia shouted as she saw her mum lying unconscious on the bed with oxygen mask on her nose. "Wake up please. Don't scare me. Who will I say good morning to? Who will I talk to when I am down? Who will make me pancakes?" She questioned hysterically as she shook her mum's frame. Then as if awoken, she suddenly screamed. "This damned hospital, how could they leave a patient unattended to in this state? Is oxygen the only treatment they can offer? Where are the nurses? Just where the fuck are they!" "Babe calm down Chloe consoled. "I will go get the nurses" Chloe proceeds out of the room to call the nurses but she got a phone call. "Hey mum, what's up?" "Chloe you need to come quickly. Your dad collapsed suddenly. Our home doctor said it is critical and your dad keeps saying he wants to see you before he dies."
Chloe's mother cries out. "I don't know why he is talking about death now. This is so heartbreaking." She lamented. 'Good lord mum, I will be over there right away" Chloe rushed her words. She turns back and open the wards door "Alicia" she calls out "I am really sorry but I have to go now. My dad is in a critical condition right now. but inform me if there is any situation, okay?" Chloe says and hugged her. "No problem. You should hurry and go"Alicia pushes her slightly. "I will call a nurse on my way" Chloe says and left. Soon a nurse entered the ward "Every guardian here should please listen, make a deposit so that we can continue treatment on the patients". Alicia furiously stand up "It is until these patients die that you guys will treat them right. Do you not see the agony they are in?"
Soon an argument ensued between Alicia and the nurse "since you know that you cannot pay for treatment of your mother, you should have taken her to your home so that you can treat her yourself without spending a penny." The nurse lashed out. "Woah, how did you get a job here with your terrible personality? I bet that you have influence here." Alicia responded. "Phoebe what's happening here?" A masculine voice questioned. Both Alicia and the nurse turned to face the door. "Doctor the miss here is bent on causing trouble because I told her to make a deposit so that we can continue treatment on her family but she refused and instead lashed out at me". The nurse rambled distatefully.
Meanwhile Alicia was in shock the moment she saw the alleged doctor's face. What got her attention most was the cold blue eyes looking down at her like some kind of god. "Let's talk in my office miss "The man said and walked away. "If you think that you can gain sympathy by crying blah i'm sorry it's not gonna work on our doctor. Then let me tell you that doctor owns this hospital, so if you blasphem the hospital, that's prison for you". The nurse said rudily. Thanks for the sermon you will perform better as a priestess" Alicia says and followed the doctor.
Inside the doctor's office, Alex sat down on his office chair exhaustedly. Alicia stood nervously in front of the doctor's door not knowing whether to open it or not. "Do you want to remain a statue there or come in? "She flinched. When she heard the doctor's voice. "Hello" she says as she knock on the door. "Come in" came the cold reply.
"Sit down please" Alex says in a professional manner "I will remain this way" Alicia respond. "Well, as you wish "Alex smirked "I believe we have an unfinished business" Alex says and Alicia starts to shift from one foot to another "um, i'm really sorry for what happened earlier today. Please I didn't mean to" Alicia says as she bowed her head "please save my mum I have no other one than her" she continued as she knelt down. *save her please, I will do anything you ask of me" she says as fast tears start to roll down her cheeks. Alex was about to talk when he received a message. He picks up his phone to check it. A photo pops up and Alex eyes widen a little the message under was.
"The woman and the girl are David's family." He looked up to take another look at the girl kneeling down in front his desk. Then he smiled "Well now, fate just keep entangling us together my dear Alicia" Alicia looks up with tears in her eyes as she says " What ". How did he know my name? She questioned in her mind.
