This Hero Plans A Prison Break!

The cold air of the mountaintop filled my tent once more as the morning sun slivered through the fibers of my tent. My breath left visible puffs as I exhaled before I slowly opened my eyes to welcome a new day.

I slept in my gear.

I didn't even bother to take off my boots. My feet are killing me, but this is nothing a Cure Light Wounds won't fix, and a Clean from Tael will clear up anything else. Wrinkles are no issue, and it's not like I'm trying to appear fashionable.

The bowl that I had used to eat dinner with last night was still resting next to my bed. The final bits of soup that hadn't been caught by me had hardened overnight, forming a crust along the contours of the bowl.

The armor that I had taken last night still sat on the table inside of my room. It stood there like a reminder that reality really is here.

I looked away from the armor, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath.
