Shi Xiao Nian was brought to Imperial Castle, escorted by two men in suits and sunglasses. At least they allowed her the decency of putting on a simple white dress before they abducted her. Even so, she felt anything but decent as she was frogmarched through the luxurious interior of the massive villa.

As expected of a paranoid, overbearing, modern-day emperor, the interior of his castle was furnished with the most expensive materials. Lush carpets spread across the floors, exquisite paintings from centuries ago adorned the polished walls, and furniture – each piece costing more than a single average family would make in an entire year – were arranged across the vast space.

So distraught by her situation was she that Shi Xiao Nian paid no attention to what would otherwise be a dream home for any girl yearning to be a princess.
