Chapter 143: The Preliminary Trial

Unlike Bai Xiao Chun, I wasn't fortunate enough to have fallen into a place where a friend was nearby to save me. I had to get out of this trouble on my own.

Their tendrils and vines struck the murky waters and flailed about desperately, but they could no longer find me. I drifted away, following the currents, and then made use of it to propel myself toward the surface. Gulping down a lungful of air, I followed the currents toward the shore and managed to climb back onto land.
