26 - Personal Dimension

Everyone looked toward Val, and instantly the mood was shifted. At this point, everyone was fairly aware of Val's shamelessness, so it wasn't surprising that he would completely ignore the awkwardness and seriousness of the atmosphere.

In the end, Mark and Becky also agree and everything was split as they had decided. Val also took a few armor pieces. Val took a pair of black leather arm guards and leg guards. There was not a lot of suitable armor that fit him, most of the armor was too large or too heavy. Val's body was still that of a child and he did not want to sacrifice his mobility for defense. Val had also yet to take a serious hit from any enemy, due to having an extremely strong mobility skill. This influenced his decision and may become an issue in the future.

Once everything was distributed, Val began to head back to his tent, he wanted to try and get a few hours of sleep after using the Life Skill Orb and giving the Skill Orbs to Leo and Larz.

However, as he was walking he noticed someone following him. It was Sav, Val was confused so he questioned her whilst pointing to the women's tent,

"The women's tent is over there, why are you following me?"

Sav was embarrassed and her face went red, but she was able to gather her confidence and responded,

"I know, but I wanted to watch you guys use the skills orbs, and I was hoping I could sleep in your tent?"

This confused Val even more, he quickly asked,

"Why would you want to sleep in my tent instead of the tent with the women you are familiar with?"

Sav explained,

"The women may seem caring and nice towards me now, but they knew about the way my mother treated me before, but never helped me or did anything about it. They are only caring now because of the situation we are in."

Val was surprised at Sav's explanation and just nodded and confirmed,

"Alright, you can rest in my tent."

Sav smiled brightly and they all headed into Val's tent. Once inside Val relaxed and took out the Skill Orbs for himself, Leo, and Larz.

They all used them without any issues.

Sav watched the whole thing, she could not take her eyes off Val, who looked so handsome.

Once the trio opened their eyes, Sav excitedly asked,

"What are your new skills?"

Val smiled, it was clear that this girl did not know common etiquette, but Val did not mind, he had surprisingly quickly grown to really enjoy Sav's company.

Val decided to tell her but not before quickly warning her,

"It's considered rude to ask someone about their skills or talent, however, this time I will tell you but you can't ever tell anyone else!

The Spatial Skill I awakened before was called [Personal Dimension], it's an S-Rank Spatial Skill that allows me to access my own small dimension, I'm not sure about the specifics, but it seems incredible! The Life Skill I awakened is D-Rank Life Skill [Heal]. It seems to be one of the basic healing skills in the Life Talent, but it should be really useful for someone like me."

When Sav heard Val's explanation she seemed to be even more excited than him. Healing skills were always useful even if they were low rank, but the S-Rank Spatial Skill sounded amazing to her. She hurridly asked,

"Does that mean you can keep your tamed beasts and monsters in that dimension, then summon them out when you need them? That will save you a lot of trouble when you enter towns and cities. Also what about Leo and Lanz?"

Val nodded,

"That's what I was thinking! It will be very useful to hide the strength of my familiars and hide the fact that I have Larz. Larz awakened a D-Rank Water Skill called [Water Lock] which can imprison things with water, stopping them from moving or escaping. Leo awakened a C-Rank Light Skill called [Light Claws] which covers his claws with light, adding a lot of power, range, speed, and piercing ability to his claws. It seems to buff any attack he does with his claws."

Sav was just as excited when hearing about Leo and Larz's new skills, she commented,

"They're both really useful, I wish I was awakened too! I don't want to have to wait for another 7 months."

Sav looked disappointed and Val decided to attempt to comfort her,

"7 months isn't too long, and you need that time to train. If you become an adventurer without prior training and study, you will probably end up dying."

Sav was still a little down, but she tried not to show it, giving just a simple reply,

"I know..."

Val decided to change the topic, he was exhausted and really wanted to rest,

"We should get some rest, I'm exhausted and tomorrow is going to be a long day of traveling."

Sav looked sad again, she asked,

"I heard you will be leaving the caravan tomorrow to head to a dungeon town, is that true?"

Val nodded and confirmed,

"Yeah, I will be splitting up with the group tomorrow."

Both Val and Sav become slightly melancholy, they had not known each other for very long, but they had developed a friendship in this small amount of time. Neither of them had many friends in their lives and they both found the other to be enjoyable company.

The two continued to talk for a bit before falling a sleep, Leo and Larz were cuddling inbetween them but they were still fairly close.

When Val opened his eyes, the first thing he saw were Sav's big blue eyes, which had been watching him sleep. Both Val and Sav's eyes locked for a few seconds, before an awkward silence followed. However, Sav quickly got up and ran out of the tent without saying anything.

Sav was very embarrassed about being caught watching Val sleep and did not know what to say. Val was rather confused about the whole situation, he decided to just forget about it for now, and pack up his tent and belongings.

He had a spatial ring now, which he stored all his belonging in, including the spatial pouch. Spatial rings are usually very expensive and fairly rare, the bandits had quite a few of them however, which they probably stole from merchants.

Once Val had finished packing up his stuff he headed to the camp fire for breakfast, sitting next to Sav. She did not say anything to him and would not look at his face, it seems she was still embarrassed about being caught before. Val sighed and greeted her, ignoring what happened earlier, and with this she finally got over her embarrassment. The two of them had an enjoyable breakfast, chatting and enjoying the food. Val and Leo were trying to savor the food as much as possible, because after this they would be back to eating bland meat that they hunted.

As the merchants were packing up and preparing the caravan which had to be slightly reorganised so that the women could travel in a carriage, Val tried to use and understand his new Spatial Skill.

Val activated [Personal Dimension] and a small portal which was made up of silver mana particles swirling, appeared next to him. It was quite the amazing scene, Val had never seen anything like it. He was not the only one, Sav had seen it appear as she was with Val when he was testing it out, she was mesmirised and noticed that the silver of the portal, matched Val's hair. Mr. Gregory, Jamal and Becky also noticed it. They three of them headed over, to question Val about it, Mark was not with them, as it seemed he was dealing with some stuff with Margret.

As the three of them arrived they witnessed Leo and Larz enter the portal. They were amazed, they knew that Val had awakened a S-Rank Skill from the Skill Orb, but this was unreal. Jamal asked,

"I know its very rude to ask, but we are really curious about your new skill, what is it?"

Val looked at Jamal and sighed,

"It's called [Personal Dimension], it lets me open a portal to my own dimension, where living creature can enter. It is how I plan to hide Larz, at least till i'm strong enough to fight anyone that comes after him."

Mr. Gregory's eyes shot open,

"That's incredible, i guess I shouldn't be suprised that an S-Rank Spatial Skill is this amazing. What is it like inside the dimension?"

Val looked at Mr. Gregory and explained,

"I'm not sure yet, im waiting for Larz to come out and tell me about it."

Mr. Gregory was confused for a moment and then remember that he had once heard that Dragons could communicate with any creture telepathically.

Larz and Leo soon exited and larz had a telepathic conversation with Val.

Val then shared with the group what he had learned.

"Apparantly it is just a grass field which is 1 kilometer long and 1 kilometer wide. Their is just grass and nothing else."

Mr. Gregory thought for a moment, and then shared his suggestion,

"Maybe you can grow plants yourself in their, its a pretty amazing skill in general, but fits your needs unbeleivably well."

Val just nodded as he thought about the skill and what he could do with it.

After a while the merchants and everyone else were ready to head out.

Margret looked terrible, she seemed to have been crying a lot and she looked very depressed. Mark and Becky were trying to comfort her but were doing a very poor job.

Val and Sav walked together, alongside Larz and Leo, chatting about whatever they saw and whatever came to mind.

Soon it was lunch time, this would be Val's last meal with everyone, he would seperate from the group straight after lunch and continue heading north, while the group began heading south.
