The world is about to end? So what?

- Why do you think that i care? -- Kerren answered while looking at her. - You're supposed to! This world is your home... -- she could barely talk at this point. /// PLEASE READ MY REVIEW TO THIS NOVEL! /// - Oh? My home? Well... That's too bad then, my home is going to be destroyed... -- he pretended to think for a while -- Right! -- he exclaimed -- I'm just going to find a new one! Why bother saving one that is filled with cockroaches and wasps? -- his gaze fixed on her face, as if he was pointing at her. - You dont understand!.. You cant leave this world... We're locked here... -- she revealed, it didn't surprise Kerren at all. - Uh... Stop thinking too highly of yourself, it's you who cant leave it -- he countered her reveal with his own -- Also, why dont YOU sacrifice yourself for the sake of your home? -- he asked back. - I'm not strong enough, the barrier wont work for long!.. -- she tried to find a reason behind her hypocricity. - Well, you'll have to choose between that and looking at your planet being absorbed by that tower -- he looked at the giant pillar in the sky. -- Wait, i think i forgot to tell you something... -- he looked back at her -- I was the one who summoned it here... -- he smiled happily.

Spineless worm (2);

Many days passed since Kerren started his impersonaion.

News about him commiting mass murder of government official and destroying a building were long since known to the people around him.

There were rumors here and there that he was a terrorist from the start or something like that, some even suspected that the reason he was so powerful is because he made lots of sacrifices to some random gods or something, it was all over the place.

Kerren himself talked about it and even supported their claims to fit into the herd.

After all, if everyone around him despised Kerren and he didn't wouldn't that be suspicious?

As for what he did during that time? What a spineless worm would normally do, he attended classes, pretended to be nothing and failed to answer questions he was asked.

It wasn't something hard since he genuinly didn't know answers to some and pretending was a part of his personality.

In his free time he read those books and improved his spells, which was his main focus. Increasing mana was now almost impossible due to abscense of proper quality potions and the price of fruits.

Coins, however? He could still use lots of them, but where would he get those? His identity didn't have any money!

Of course, he did buy them before but those were all low-rank and he just told people that he's collecting them. Higher rank ones were expensive, thus unavailable. Even if people didn't know what they're for... they're given to them by dungeons for a reason, so they must have some use.

Days would go as usual if not for one person who seemingly knew something nobody else did.

It was Yusaya. She didn't approach Kerren but he could see her from time to time after she first saw him somewhere.

He knew that it was due to his skill, he was probably still shining as a positive thing for her, but he had no way to prevent that.

He tried many methods and tested them on the next day, but she still observed him from time to time, which made him think that they were ineffective.

Even if they were, how would he know that?

After some time she finally decided to approach him directly. It wasn't something he didn't expect as he already had some experince with her.

- Hello. Mind if i sit next to you?

She approached him in the rest zone where he currently was. He spent some time there each day, approaching random people, being friendly and all that... to not make it look he was a shut-in like Kerren.

Indeed, he took it too far and made a complete opposite of his previous identity, but so what? Among so much people who would connect him to it?

- N-no it's fine... -- Kerren made himself look smaller, as if he was shy -- Do you need anything? -- he asked after a pause, looking at her.

His expression now was one of a kind. He looked like a classical shut-in who was shocked that a girl approached him! Eyes glowing with excitement, awkward posture etc... What an actor he was...

- Oh, it's nothing. I just saw you here and ther and thought that you are an interesting person -- she smiled at Kerren after saying it -- Which class are you?

She was trying to be friendly as Kerren understood it.

- I'm a tank! Well... not a good one, but still...

Kerren acted like he imagined this worm he was impersonating would.

- Oh, dont say that! I'm sure you'll achieve grand things in the future, my eyesight is quite good so i can tell.

She was as friendly as one could be... What the hell did she want? Was it the same things she wanted to get from Kerren?

- Haha... Well, maybe...

Kerren then went silent, not saying anything else, looking awkward...

- Say, you want to practice with me? Maybe we can go to a dungeon so you'll get some real experience?

She sat closer to him after she said it, seemingly forcing herself on Kerren.

Kerren, in response, shivered a little and leaned away from her.

- I... I dont know, i'm sure you can find a better tank than me... -- he made an apologetic face as he said it.

- Come on, why would i need another tank? You here is perfectly fine!

She leaned even closer to him.

Kerren didn't know what a worm would normally do in such a situation, so he decided to play a scared girl and just...

Run away!

That's exactly what he did, leaving Yusaya baffled.

-* Is this guy?.. -- is the only thought that was her in head for a while.

After a while he stopped running, looked back as if he was running from a monster or something and looked around for a place he could go next.

Of course, such a thing wasn't necessary as the person who he's impersonating wasn't such a... well, you know what i mean, but so what?

It was his identity now and he did whatever he wanted!

As such, he decided to go to the library that, as it turned, was present in the university!

Kerren didn't bother looking for it earlier as he didn't need to, but this time it was different. He needed a reason for his sudden rise and if he spent a lot of time here people would think that that was it.

He, however, didn't even bother looking at the books here, he pretended to but each time he just sat there reading his own book. It was "My life" written by god knows who.

As it turned out the book was really great, it depicted many situation and fighting styles people generally used, their tricks and secrets alike!

It was a great boost to Kerren's fighting experience since he didn't have much it, with the help if this book, however, he felt like he could understand what a person would do next!

Of course, it wasn't as easy, but he walked in the right direction by at least trying to do that. Predicting what your opponent will do next was one of the things an experienced warrior would do.

Goblins, orc and other humanoid monsters didn't have much ways to attack in the first place, and if one knew how they looked before an attack? Well, you could block or dodge it easily!

Of course, such a thing wasn't all that useful for Kerren since he was already an expert in dodging, but that wasn't all that was in this book.

As its name implied it was a life experience of some great person! It had many useful tricks for every situation one could find himself in! Even etiquette was a part of it!

Of course it was questionable since it was a book from another world, but you got what i'm trying to say.

As for other books? He read them in his room, since opening those in public could attract trouble if people saw him... This one? People would think that he's looking at some old-style p*rn or something.

...

When he was about to leave, he saw Yusaya waiting for him, again...
