Chapter 13: A prophet 's glory

When considering parseltongue is considered a rare and high level talent you would expect the height of talent in wizarding world would be speaking to owls and ravens but yet again you would be proven wrong.

In the third year they give an hour glass to spectacular students which can turn back time. one of the three building blocks of the universe which are time, space and matter. When you hear an artifact capable of messing with time is given to a 14 year old you expect a completely different magical civilization.

One other very strange thing is how the hell wizards are considered the height of magical races. I mean while adult wizards are incapable of shooting even a bolt of lightning, a thunder bird can cause a storm the size of a city. Trolls are big and resistant to magic, Basilisks eyes petrify and a phoenix can teleport through flames.

I am so confused. I feel very strange when a wizard can manipulate space and time easier than controlling lightning. I am still practicing the fundamentals of magic but some day I will surely research them. Although I read fanfics about applying science to magic and starting to fundamentally research magic. I still can not help it but be attracted to branches of magic I lack scientific knowledge about. Because it is there that I can learn more.

I always daydream a little when I read mentions of summoning charm , expansion charm and other spells involving space or I think about getting a time turner but there is a magical discipline that is mysterious even to the natives in this world.

As you can already guess I am attracted to mysteries especially a mysterious discipline that gives me power, knowledge and an advantage over my adversaries. One such discipline is rituals and the other one I have found is Divination.

Divination is a magical practice which the series had not done justice depicting it. Divination is looked down upon in magical society because almost none of them have any talent in it. In divination either you have talent or you are just wasting your time.

Sybil Trelawney had the talent but it was ordinary at best. In the series she fell into a trance and predicted the dark lord's down fall. A true prophecy, maybe the only one in her life. She was nothing compared to her ancestor Cassandra Trelawney who was a true prophet.

A prophet is well respected among the magical communities. In some they are worshiped, some say that they are the descendants of nature, or the chosen ones even in England there are rules in a favor of them that go back in ancient times. One such rule is that if a prophet is born to a family there is a way to turn the family name to an ancient and noble house that is the glory of prophets.
