The group settled on the ground, forming a small circle around the loaves Anna had brought, when Margaret dropped a comment with a sarcastic tone.
"Is this bread?" she muttered, crossing her arms and looking at the small loaves as if they were the last thing she wanted to eat. "I thought you could've at least gotten something more... interesting."
Anna, accustomed to Margaret's remarks, decided to ignore her.
'This girl is hopeless,' Anna concluded silently.
What really worried her was Leo, who, despite agreeing to join the group, still seemed distant. He ate slowly, staying apart from the conversations, and though he was physically among them, it felt as if his mind was somewhere else.
'You're still hard to figure out...,' Anna thought, glancing at him without making it obvious to the others.
Even though she had managed to turn back time and get Leo to stay, she couldn't shake the feeling that he remained as unreachable as ever.
