The White Space
Chapter 10 The White Space Both the teacher and Kailey found themselves in a vast, white space with only a single set of table and chair occupying a small portion of the area. They couldn't see any way out of the place, so the teacher started to explore the surroundings. After going in a straight line for a few minutes, she came across a strange table and chair. This indicated that the space they were in was limited and had a spherical shape. Since these objects were the only visible things aside from Kailey and herself, the teacher went to examine them both to see if there was a way to escape from this white space. Before the sudden change, the teacher had been dragging Kailey around. Because of that, they were brought together to this strange place. To Kailey, the room looked like a place for signing contracts, with nothing to distract except for the furniture. Kailey sat on one side of the table and when the teacher finished with her inspection finally sat on the other side of the table across from Kailey, The surroundings suddenly, transformed into a beautiful pond surrounded by flora, like something out of a nature reserve. The sudden change in scenery surprised both Kailey and the teacher. Kailey was grateful for the breathtaking view after the blank emptiness they had experienced before. However, the teacher became even more cautious. Before long, a scroll appeared out of nowhere and floated above the table before descending down to lay flat on the table. The scroll contained the same contract the witch hat had spoken of earlier. The teacher took a careful look at the contract and searched for any clues that could help them understand the situation. Upon examination, the teacher realized that it was a similar to a Words of Power contract, but this contract was something different the process required the contractor to sign an agreement that would give an object a part of their soul. By using a part of the contractors soul, it gives the object a superficial soul, which presumably enables it to intuitively assist its contractor in battle or allows it to learn and add to to their abilities like muscle memory. However, the contract seemed dubious to the teacher. If the process is not executed correctly, it may lead to permanent damage to the user's soul. This would undoubtedly significantly weaken the contractor, as the soul is the source of energy from which the body and raw magical aptitude draw their power.
