Chapter 51: Happily Together Happily

“No, Alec, don’t take that rack out.” I gesture to the one he has in his grip, fully suited in beekeeper gear, so unlike myself, simply in a winter dress, “they’ll need that for the winter. Come here, this one.”
I gesture to another rack and Alec stumbles over, bees on him in droves, attracted to his magic that’s intertwined with mine. We’ve been at this for a while now, days turning into weeks, trying to keep the hives healthy before the first snow. It’s going to be a long, beautiful winter. I just hope I’ll have more of my hair back by then, at least more than the inch I have now.
“This one?” Alec points at a rack and I nod, giving him a thumbs up and he pulls it out, the comb almost barren in comparison to the other he had a moment ago.
