Chapter 47: Time Changes

Sleep tries to keep me under as long as it can, the sun barely on the horizon and the tent warm and still smelling like sex from last night. It brings back a flood of memories and endorphins that I fight down, but it’s a siren’s call, and I feel helpless against it.
Everything was perfect yesterday, and even more perfect is the idea that once we’re back at Driftwood, Leena is going to accept the mate bond. Not that it will change much aside from how our magic interacts, but it’ll be such a relief to not have that tugging feeling in my chest almost constantly. I reach for the feeling as my eyes start to crack open, but it isn't there.
