Chapter 45: Promises

I can feel the flare of his wolf magic through the mate bond, and when his eyes open after a tight groan, they’re fully red. It’s like seeing him for the first time tonight, and I respond in turn, my eyes flaring their honeyed yellow in response. I always thought red and gold went well together.
“Oh, I’ll make good.” Alec shifts on his knees, giving me a rough shove until I’m on my back on the blanket where he was a moment ago, slotting the toy in place before twirling a packet of lube between his fingers with a flourish, where he got it from I’ll never know, and ripping it open between his teeth.
“C’mere.” He motions to me, and I’m instantly sitting up next to him, the lube packet extended to me with a smirk as he gets to his knees. “Something to keep you busy.”
