Experience Matters

Leonardo, having moved from bushes to bushes, despite his hulking trooper, was fortunate in some god forsaken luck that he could hide in time. To further improve his position, he went into a prone position to which he lay down into the ground so that he would be completely hidden from unsuspecting eyes. He brought out his iron, steel sword and placed it in one of his hands while still being hidden from the enemy's eyes. Now all he needs to do is wait and when the time comes, he'd just ambush the enemy and kill all of them in one go.

The enemy army marches into the forest, destroying everything that was within site, even the grass was not spared. They believed that their enemy is a coward, who would prefer to hide and kill an enemy when the time comes, unfortunately for that enemy, they were ferocious as a tiger and they would be destroyed in no time. Thus, the enemy marches inside the forest, wrecking everything within sight.

As the enemy troopers were marching unimpeded through the forest, all the while breaking everything in sight. Beads of sweat were starting to fall from Leonardo's face, inside the Mark 1 Armoured Trooper as he attempts to grab hold of the handle and controller of the Trooper, he mistook a handle for the other one, and so, one of his hand swayed sideways and struck a tree.

The tree rocked back and forth, to which it did not go unnoticed. Almost immediately upon seeing a disturbance in the part of the forest where Leonardo was, the enemy troopers immediately moved with haste, and into that part of the forest they arrived almost immediately. Upon arriving, they looked and scoured the surroundings to which they arrived in a specific location.

Leonardo sensing that there was no other option on which he could take to escape from his pursuers. He swiftly stood up with a sword at hand, he dashed at the enemy. This is where the unfortunate circumstances which is precisely why he didn't want to get into a melee fight.

It is precisely because he indeed receives his body's memories from its past owner. Which also included the necessary information about sword fighting. That's where the problem lies. In his past life, before his soul transmigrated into this universe. He was a marksman in his past life, as melee battles are extinct in all forms of warfare. The Arachnids possess superior soul technology and soul skills to the extent that a melee battle is near impossible, because you'd already be dead before the Arachnids arrived in front of you.

The scene from the United Earth Federation Navy chasing Leonardo away was an exception, it was because that the Arachnid knew that they were dealing with the last bastion of Humanity that it does not even matter whether it would kill him or not, as the entire race does not even have the slightest chance of reviving itself as almost everybody is already dead, with their sons and daughters in the life pods a living corpse or otherwise known as an infected.

Panning back to Leonardo, he swiftly stood up and attacked, to which the enemy immediately took notice, as they have already discovered his location a while ago and so his pitiful attacks were all but deflected into disarray.

"CP! What the hell, find a good form in my memories and attack pattern to overwhelm the enemy!" Leonardo thought inwardly.

CP, meanwhile, was calculating as hard as he could.

"I am on it, the battle is just too fast Smithy! I cannot calculate enough. I lack necessary soul strengths, moreover, the information is already stored in your body. I am just here to help you analyze all of it, not do everything! I may be the most advanced artificial intelligence, however, there are certain limits placed onto me, so you're most likely on your own this time, Smithy!"

Leonardo was sweating bullets inside the troper as he dodge and attack the enemies. He was also practically out numbered. Not only he lacks the necessary amount of soul strengths, he also lack the necessary experience. There is a huge difference in reading a book about sword fighting and experience in sword fighting itself.

He is practically in a bind!

Unfortunately, as he was trying his hardest to fight the enemy despite being outnumbered, he eventually got deflected so hard that his sword was flung from his hand into quite some distance from him. Now that his sword was gone from his hand, Leonardo was racking his brains and so he decided to charge the enemy.

It miraculously worked! The enemy was stunned by the bravery of their opponent and so was shocked and stood there for a few seconds, unfortunately those few seconds were all that Leonardo needed.

The enemy that was charged dropped his sword. Leonardo stood up and drew his bow, unfortunately the enemy that he charged was quite fast. The enemy grabbed him from the hips, to which his aim was offset and shot in the wrong direction. This was all the time that the enemy needed, and so they immediately worked into action and sliced off Leonardo's limbs.

Back in the sliced up trooper where Leonardo was, he was practically sweating bullets; he tried to remove the safety locks, to no avail. It was not working anymore as the entire system of the trooper were malfunctioning at this point.

As the enemy was about to stab the Leonardo's trooper at the center where the pilot was on, they were suddenly hit by an arrow, to which they exploded and died. If they had finished off Leonardo immediately and not played with him and his trooper by slicing up his limbs. They could have definitely finished him. Unfortunately, Leonardo's reinforcements have already arrived and so they were all killed.

This fight is going to be the most valuable lesson in Leonardo's or otherwise known as Smithy by CP life after arriving in this universe and that is experience matters more than knowledge. He should've realized it as his soul power was restricted, which means the Heaven's Grail wants him to use the knowledge that he was given to its fullest extent. Which means he cannot power through his problems. He'd actually have to take the time and study the knowledge that was given to him and turn it into something useful, like actual technologies being revived and experience in warfare.

Remember, there is a huge difference between reading a book and actually putting it into practice.

Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter!
