The first thing Niya is hit by is the foul stench of rotting flesh. As if a piece of meat burned in hell fire. The next thing she notices is the blood which surprises her because she cannot smell the blood, maybe because it is masked by the atrocious smell or maybe his blood has lost all scent. This only happens when a werewolf is dying or already dead. Up close, Tristan’s face appears to be mangled with a yellowish tinge in his skin and bluish veins protruding out. He looks ghastly and no one should have to die like this, even her biggest enemy.
“It would have been a mercy if we killed him that night” Chase says jaw clenched with anger. “Mother is there any chance?” he asks the Luna who is sitting at the edge of Tristan’s bed.
