Chapter 23

When the teacher left, the whole class had a lot of motivation to get stronger. Henrik was the course for all of this.

The whole class went out to the training field, to get stronger as fast as possible. They had basically taken over the training field.

They were sparring in every corner there was, and at the empty spots, some of them were using their spells to master them.

If someone walked out there right now, they would not believe their eyes. It was the sight of many students training with all they got.

Inside the academy, everyone could hear explosions and people yelling. It was a spectacle never seen before at the academy.

Einar was different though, he did not go with his class immediately, since he had two things he needed to do.

First thing was to talk with the teacher about the reward of the race. He really wanted that book from the first floor, since he was still in big need of a sword technique.

The second thing was that he needed to make some pills that could help his training. He had no materials though, so he thought he would ask their teacher about that as well.

"Teacher steve!" Einar had caught up to steve, as he yelled out his name.

"Hmm" Steve heard the voice and turned around. "Oh, Einar, what is it?" he looked at Einar with a confused expression.

"I wanted to talk about the reward from the race!" Einar stood in front of Steve with a big smile. "I did win after all!"

Steve just looked at Einar in shock. How could he have forgotten to give Einar his reward, that was nothing that should be easily forgotten. Einar was hurt until yesterday, so of course, he had had no chance to give it to Einar.

"Haha, you sure did!" Steve said as he smiled at Einar.

Steve took out a card from his back pocket and threw it to Einar "Use this, this will give you access to borrow one book from the first floor for 2 months!" Steve said as he turned around. "If there is nothing else, I will take my leave."

"There is another thing!" Einar said as he made Steve pause. "Where do I get alchemy ingredients, and a furnace to make pills?" Einar asked with a straightforward tone.

Steve was shocked again. He looked at Einar with wide eyes. He already knew Einar had a lot of talent for fighting, but how can he have a talent for alchemy as well, it is something that consumes a lot of money and time.

"Y-You are an alchemist as well?" Steve asked with a stuttering voice.

"I guess so, my teacher taught me a little bit!" Einar said. He did not mention the rank that his master had given him, since that would probably frighten Steve.

"Hahaha, you are quite talented Einar, but allocate your talent in the right places please! ..." Steve said with a tone of a teacher. "... But if you really want to do some alchemy, you will need to register at the alchemy classes! They do not interfere with the fighting classes, as they are mostly done in the late afternoon!" Steve said as he would of course support his student.

"Okay! Thank you, teacher Steve!" Einar said. He was truly happy to have a teacher like Steve.

"Well, see you around Einar!" Steve turned around to leave once more. He was thinking that he really needed a break. He had not been teaching them anything today, but he really felt tired with them around.

"Uhm ... teacher Steve ... Where do I find the alchemist class?" Einar asked with a wry smile while scratching the back of his head.

*Sigh* Steve was wondering how he had not seen the club before, he had been to the library many times. "It is right beside the library!" Steve said before he hurried to leave, trying to escape any more questioning.

Einar just looked at Steve storming off with a confused face. He had no idea why he would storm off in this way, either way, he was thankful for the information.

'If they are really right beside each other, it makes this a lot easier! I can do both things at the same time!' Einar thought as he hurried to the library. He did not want to stand around to long, and lose the precious time he need to get stronger.

When he arrived at the library, he looked to the side of the entrance. He saw a small door with a small sign saying 'Alchemist class.' It did not seem like anything special, but he chose to go over there and knock on the door.

He stood there for a few minutes without anyone answeríng, so he decided to open the door and walk inside.

When he walked inside, he was hit by a thick smell of medicinal herbs, it was quite a pleasant smell. As he looked around, he saw many people standing in front of either tables or furnaces.

One end of the room had a blackboard and many tables and chairs facing that blackboard. That was probably the place where they were taught the art of alchemy.

The other end was filled with bookshelves, small working tables, and a lot of furnaces. Almost all of the tables and furnaces were occupied by people.

The people at the tables were all focused on either reading or organizing herbs, while the people at the furnaces were making pills and medicine.

Einar looked around to see if he could find the teacher, so he could sign up for the alchemy class. He did not find a teacher there at this time though. There were many students, but the teacher was nowhere to be seen.

"Uhm excuse me, I want to sign up for alchemy classes, where do I find the teacher?" Einar decided that he might as well ask one of the students there for some help.

"Huh? You want to sign up to be an alchemist?" The student gave Einar a ridiculing look. "It is not a class a fighter like you should take!" The student said while looking at Einars clothing.

Einar looked around the room once more, trying to figure out why he would say that. To his surprise though, all of the students here were wearing mage uniforms. There was not a single one from the fighters class.

"Oh, I am also a mage! So don't worry!" Einar said as he looked at the student in front of him. He was trying to be polite, as he did not want to take an offensive tone.

"Then why are you wearing fighter class robes?" The student still looked at Einar with an arrogant and ridiculing gaze.

"I think they look better!" Einar answered honestly with a slight smile.

This shocked everyone there. They were all mages, and so they all thought the mage's robes were the best-looking ones. They were all passionate about this, which Einar had no idea about.

"D-Did you just say the mage's robes were ... UGLY!?" The student yelled as he wanted to draw the attention of everyone here.

"I never claimed such a thing, I just said a prefer the fighter classes robes!" Einar answered back calmly, He could feel the pressure from everyone here, but he did not want to retaliate.

Everyone in the room was now staring at Einar, this was basically saying he was looking down on the mages. At least, that was how they all felt when they heard him.

"What the hell are you talking about, mages are much better than fighters!" One of the other students in the class yelled out.

Einar was confused by this comment. To him, fighters and mages were equal, he did not care if you were either a mage or a fighter. Every profession was a good profession, as they all served different and important purposes.

"What? When did I say that mages were worse -"

"I challenge you to a duel!" Before Einar could finish his sentence, the youth in front of him spoke up.

He felt like Einar had disrespected the mages greatly, so he felt a duty to beat this fighter. He wanted to show Einar that mages were far stronger than fighters.

'A duel? What the heck? How did this happen?' Einar thought to himself as he looked around at all the furious students. He had no idea why they were all so upset, he had really not done anything that warranted them to take this kind of action.

"Is there really no other way?" Einar looked at the student in front of him. He did not really want to fight with another student without any reason.

"NO! You disrespected us mages, we have to duel it out!" The student said. "So, accept it!" He continued. He wanted this duel no matter what.

Einar had a feeling that this was not only about the mage and fighter conflict. There was something else amiss, but he had no idea what it was. This student had been rude to Einar from the beginning like there was some kind of a grudge.

*Sigh* "Okay, fine! Where do we fight!" Einar gave up arguing, as there was no use for it.

"We go to the training grounds now, I will get a teacher to be the judge!" The student said.

'He wants a teacher as a judge? There was definitely something else behind this!' Einar thought to himself.

"Okay, I will go there and wait for you!" Einar smiled a small smile.
