Chapter 8: An Assault

"What is happening?" the king asked the watchman. "There is an army of dragon riders and some swordsmen, that is in full battle armor. They are heading this direction, your highness, I fear that they going to attack and invade our town," the watchman said.

"Go prepare the defenses and prepare the walls! Prepare the archers and our swordsmen together with our sword masters! And tell the royal sorcerer to provide a protection spell to the people, the walls and the troops," said the king. "Okay, your highness! "

The watchman spread the news to the people and alot of people evacuated to the castle.

"Chester, where is the necklace that your mother gave to you? " asked the king. "Uhhh... I lost it father, " Chester said. "What! Why did you los-."

"Wait! Your highness I think I have the thing that you are missing with, " said Jayme. Chester smiled at the sight of the necklace and the beautiful face of Jayme.

"Oh thank the heavens!" exclaimef the queen. "Uhmm.. Your highness, what is the purpose of that necklace and why is it so important?" Jayme asked. "Oh darling, that necklace contains powerful magic that can save a life, I gave it to Chester cause I know this will happen," said the queen.

All of the people in the town was now inside the castle, and the guards are ready for the assault. The king go out to one of the tower to have a peak on the army that is going to assault their town. There was alot of enemies coming their way. Jayme and Chester go out too, and they both saw all the enemies coming their way.

Chester prepared his bow, "No Chester! You are not going to join this fight! " said the king. "No father! I know how to fight now and I will protect this town like you did!" and before they can argue more, a big boulder was flung and it hitted the wall but it didn't smudge the wall.

Archers started to fire arrows to the enemies and alot of the enemies are being hit. Soon there was a some kind of contraption that has a big log that has a sharp pointed metal end, and they started to drill the wall by pulling the contraption and let it hit the wall. Then the enemies are now in the town.

The enemies were greeted by hordes of swordsmen with archers at the back line. A bloody fight has began, many dead bodies of swordsmen and enemies that looked like orcs.

Chester and Jayme go out of the castle to help, he get his sword out and Jayme, of course the wand. Chester slashed every opponent on the way, while Jayme still trying to cast a spell. "I can't cast a spell thing!" Then at his rage, a lightning burst out from the tip of the wand hitting multiple enemies and throwing him far behind.

Chester got up to Jayme, "Are you okay? "

"Y-yeah, I'm okay," Jayme said. "Get up now and help me fight! There so many of them!" Chester screamed.

Then Jayme got up to help but he saw a figure emerging through the gates, it was a person sitting in side a throne with orcs carrying him. Suddenly he got up and he called Jayme.

"Hello there Jayme," said the man. "W-who are you? " asked Jayme. "Huh! Guess your parents didn't give you a picture of me, but you already knew my name, " said the man. "Your Erazik, aren't you!? " said Jayme. "Yes I am, good thing your not naive like your parents."

"Where are my mom and dad!" said Jayme. "Oh, don't worry! They are okay, they are locked up inside a cell," then a mist showed on his hands and there revealed his mom and dad, "if you want them back give me the wand."

That sentence leave Jayme hesitant, he promised to Calliope that he will protect it, "No" he mumble.

"What is it? " Erazik asked. "No! I will never give you this, I promised it to Calliope that I will protect this wand at all cost! "

"Brave and noble, just like your parents, and look at them now, down under their graves, " rage filled Jayme and he couldn't hold much longer, Jayme wield the wand unto the air and pointed it to Erazik suddenly a lightning shot out of the wand and it hit Erazik but he didn't smugde a bit.

Then Erazik clenched his fist and ran into Jayme, he grabed Jayme by the neck and slammed him to the wall, which made Jayme wince in pain.

"You will die the way your parents did! " Erazik said. "Jayme! " Chester then ran to help Jayme and he slashed the back of Erazik and he disappeared.

"You okay for the second time?" Chester asked, Jayme nodded. Just as then the other orcs disappeared, and the battle ended, leaving many dead bodies scattered around the town.

"The king is dead! " a townsman said. "What! " Chester ran towards the castle, with tears falling from his eyes.

At the castle, Chester was sitting next to the corpse of his dad, there was seeping to his clothes. "D-don't worry dad, I will raise this town the way you wanted it to be, " Chester said.

"We need to give him a royal burial, he needs to be burn down like we did to the great kings when they die, Hector! Prepare all that we need for the burial of my father."

"Yes, your highness! " said Hector, the butler.

Jayme went to the room of Chester and he found Chester lying in his bed crying, "Hey, Chester are you feeling okay now? " Jayme asked. "I will, " Chester replied.

"I can't rule this town without my father, I can't level his greatness," Chester said. "Chester, I know you can do it, I know you can and if you think you can't, then think about how will your father raise this town, " said Jayme. Their conversation last for atleast two hours, and the sadness that Chester possesses, is all gone and it was changed by happiness.

"Thank you for making me feel happy Jayme, " Chester said. "It's no problem," they both smiled then Chester got closer to Jayme and he pressed his soft lips to Jayme's lips. The kiss was interrupted by the voice of Hector calling, for Chester.

"Uhh.... I will see you tomorrow," Jayme said. And then Jayme leaves with a smile on his face.
