The Villain’s Repentance

Lara was at rock bottom, feeling like a puppet whose strings had been cut. When she stumbled upon her husband and best friend in a compromising embrace, everything fell into place. The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Chapter 35 - Hope it tastes as good

Lara changed into comfortable shoes and wore a bonnet and then rushed downstairs.

She reached the living room in time to see the cook coming back with the groceries.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" the cook asked when she saw Lara following behind her into the kitchen.

"Oh not much, when will you start preparing lunch?" She asked her hands behind her as she swayed from one foot to the other.

"In an hour, miss. Are you hungry now, I can start ear…." She started worried that Lara would lose her temper at her once again.

"No no no. Actually I just want the kitchen to myself" she cut the cook off.

The cook thought it wise not to ask further and just put all the groceries where they were and excused herself from the kitchen.
