Chapter 33: Finally, the panel is over

Maybe I’m just imagining it. I don’t know. If I’m not, that’s a great excuse. If I am, then it’s a valid reason. I don’t know. This panel thing is getting old. Was it really worth it? I mean, was it really worth coming here, promoting myself, just to get a few more books sold? And, you know, a free trip to Vegas?

I feel almost like a media whore. Here I am, spending my time so that people can see me, talk to me, and know what I’m like, just in the hopes that they’ll buy more copies of my books. Or that they’ll buy my next book. But books aren’t like movies. I mean, when a movie star makes public appearances, it’s so that people remember who she is, what she looks like. It’s to keep up name recognition, so that when her next movie comes out, people go to see it. They have to do it, and do it often, so that people don’t forget them.
