Chapter 21: Brandon can't flirt either

As the bartender walks away, I turn my attention back to Kylie. She’s better than just beautiful. She’s attractive enough to draw the eye, but not so much so that she seems unapproachable. If I wanted to really quantify her body, I could, but I don’t want to. All that matters is that she’s attractive. And, more importantly, she’s funny. Really funny. Which means she’s smart. As does the fact that she’s a writer. And successful.

“What do you write, Kylie?” I ask. I feel bad that I don’t know. If she has an agent, she’s probably got at least a little published. Well, I guess it’s understandable. I read a lot, but there’s only so much I can read at any given time. And there’s just so much out there to read.

“Mostly,” she says, breathing out in an incredibly sexy way that I’m sure she doesn’t know she’s doing, “I write humor. I wrote the Apathetic Abducted.”
