The White Hope Scriptures(1)

When the smug person saw Zabrina's change in expression, he became more smug,

"So you finally notice the symbols on our collar now? Then you should know that you can't be messing with us." The smug one, Alan, says as he continues while shaking his head, "I still can't believe that you have sensed us this late. Well, it's expected of lowly dogs and witches who can only use violence."

From his perspective, the reason why Zabrina can notice them is that they let her. The way he sees her, she is nothing more than a foolish witch that needed to be slain in the name of the Goddess.

If not for Zabrina's background, Alan would've just discriminated against her more.

"And?" Zabrina didn't care about what he said to her. Of course, she would hate the Theocracy, especially for them infamous for being part of the couple of nations that participated in the witch trials, hunting and slaughtering her kind for decades but that went away after a few seconds. In her eyes, they fall into the same category as these black dressed men.

"Hmpf, it seems I have to show you your place."

Before Alan could make his move, his partner, Jiro, says, "We were ordered by the Supreme Council and the Pope to travel to the same certain location as you. But knowing the captured members of the Criminal Sect, we immediately report it to our superiors and tell us to get them over there."

The best way to deal with the situation right now is to explain. But when Jiro said his piece, it wasn't directed at Zabrina, to Sebastian instead.

When it comes to the unknown organization, the Theocracy didn't want them to leave without suffering even more for what they did for the past centuries. So besides investigating the group called the Banana Bus Squad, the Councils ordered some of the White Scriptures to take the members to them.

"Now that you know what we're after, how about you be good little lackeys and hand them over to us and leave it to the professionals." Alan said, pointing to the group of men.

Even though both the Empire and the Republic have a friendly relationship with the Theocracy, it didn't mean that their workers had it. When they work together, the Theocracy's forces would usually act superior to the two other nations. Ergo, the case with Alan. To him, the Empire and the Republic's military squad is nothing more than a bunch of monkeys that can't do anything right. Zabrina is a useless child, while Sebastian is a senile old geezer.

Zabrina's expression turns sharp as she glares at him. Alan didn't shy away from her as he stared back.

While the two are having a stare down, the black dressed men want nothing more than to go with Alan. When they heard Alan's words, they didn't need him to say anymore as they felt relieved! They would go with the two random strangers then stay there to be left with Zabrina.

Ignoring the looks of salvation the little men are having, Zabrina wasn't planning to let them go at all.

Unlike what the black dressed mens know, Zabrina knows that the two will "deal" with them the same way she has been doing. And compared to the Scriptures, the White Hope Scriptures are much more vicious than her.

Also, even if she has extracted all the information they have, making them useless now, Zabrina still couldn't let them leave. It will be a big slap to the Republic's reputation if he takes them.

Handing them over to Alan would mean that he's right and the Republic or the Empire's military corps is nothing more than a bunch of lackeys.

Zabrina couldn't allow anybody to disrespect her nation's honor.

"Make me then."

If Alan wants to take them away from her, then he'll have to take them over her cold dead hands!

Alan shrugs his shoulders, "It seems that you dogs don't know your place. I'll be happy to make you learn your place!"

Faster than his shadow itself, he instantly dashes towards Zabrina like a wild cheetah. And he swung his leg which leaves a vacuum in its path, the kick is aiming for her head.

"Hmpf!" Zabrina quickly caught the leg like it's nothing, a powerful shockwave was created by the time she caught it but she was unfazed by it. Her senses have been on high alert, waiting to see if Alan would do something to her next. A kick as forward as that could be seen from a mile away.

Alan's expression changes a bit. He didn't expect his kick would be caught so easily. With the amount of momentum and mana he put into it, it would break Zabrina's arm even if she tried to block it. Never did he expect Zabrina to straight-up catch it.

Second of all, he thought witches only specialize in magic casting, never did he expect to see a witch who knows about close-quarter combat.

"Heh, it seems that you actually have some skills even for a witch. But don't think just because you caught my kick it makes you my equal!"

Without trying to get his leg out of her grasp, Alan strikes her with his fist, moving at the speed beyond mach 5!

But his punch is nothing more than a decoy! At the same time, Alan kicks with his other leg.

'Hehe, take this, Calamity Bitch. Learn your place!' Alan chuckled, he just needed to wait for his kick to come into contact with Zabrina's face, and this little charade would be over.

Contrary to his thoughts, his kick never did come into contact with her face. Like Alan thought, Zabrina blocks his fist with her other hand.

The kick, on the other hand, was blocked using her elbows.

"What in the hel-"

Before Alan could grasp what had happened, Zabrina quickly headbutts him, causing him to move backwards holding his forehead in pain.

"You bitch! I will kill you like the rest of your kin-"

Cutting him off, Zabrina suddenly appeared before him, which caught Alan off-guard, and before he could move, the Witch in combat mode punched him on the stomach, with force enough to launch him across the dimensional field at the speed invisible to the naked eye.

"Argh!" Alan coughs up a tiny bit of blood on his mouth as he slides across the floor after being thrown up from afar.

Never did he expect a witch to have such strength. She is strong, strong enough to throw him a couple of kilometers across like a speeding missile. Luckily he only took minor damage. Only a single blood drip from his mouth.

'Blood?' Alan never shed any blood for the past five years against anybody. It's usually the other way around. But now, he's been had by a mere witch nonetheless.

Rage and humiliation flow through his mind as he glares at Zabrina. Seeing the expression on Alan, the only words that came out of her mouth are,

"All talk and no bite."
