*Rylan’s POV*

I woke up already in a bad mood. First off, like usual, I wasn’t sleeping well. Second, I was annoyed with all these fucking gossip articles showing the world Beth’s face and name. She didn’t deserve that. Third, I wasn’t able to spend time with my assistant lately. She was wrapped up with school and Daniel.

I was happy she was focusing on school, and I was glad Daniel was finally giving her a chance, but I did miss asking about her day and making her laugh. But it pissed me off that I felt all of these things in the first place. What the fuck was wrong with me? Beth was a fragile human, someone I couldn’t miss hanging out with.

I went down to the kitchen to see if I could spend time with her before she rushed off to school. Ugh, I was so pathetic. My shoulders slumped when I saw that Daniel was the only one in the kitchen. He was munching on a bowl of cereal. I gently punched his shoulder as a greeting.
