Chapter 28 : Fangs

*Beth’s POV*

Damn it, I was waking up in a hospital room again. I was getting tired of the scratchy hospital gowns and itchy blankets. Not to mention I hated the smell of antiseptic that was a staple for hospital cleaners.

At least I hadn’t seen any memories that weren’t mine this time. It was relieving to know that every time I became unconscious, I wouldn’t have to witness the boy's terrifying memories. If I was scared to view their past, I couldn’t imagine living it.

Before I looked around the room, I thought back to what had landed me here this time. The last thing I remembered was cooking breakfast and making coffee for Rylan, who was sitting next to my hospital bed, looking anxious. What in the world did I do to end up here? I didn’t realize making breakfast was such a risky thing.

“Hey, Rylan. How did I end up in the hospital this time?” I asked him, my mouth lifting into a smile. He didn’t return my joking tone.
