581. Smell of Sickness
Jael walked quietly beside Kieran as they walked to his study. Neither of them said a word as Jael led the way.
Jael sat on his seat and Kieran looked a little bit cautious. He walked toward the seat facing Jael and reluctantly sat on it.
"I hear Mauve's illness keeps fluctuating. I do hope the physician can do something about it," Kieran said in the silence.
"I don't know about that," Jael replied.
Kieran frowned, "What do you mean?"
"Jean is convinced she has an accelerated version of the White Disease which means nothing but certain death."
Kieran brows dipped, "He is sure?"
"Well no but he didn't sound like it could be anything else."
"Is she aware?" Kieran asked.
Jael took a deep breath, "I am trying to keep it away from her as long as I can."
