336. A Fake Win
"Lord Levaton and Lady Jevera," the guards said simultaneously as they bowed their heads.
Mauve swallowed as she watched them step into the castle. She didn't know how to react or what to do but she was sure horror was written on her face.
Was this a dark joke? She was to leave tomorrow night and here was Jevera walking into the castle. Mauve winced at the thought of Jevera in the castle while she was away.
Her stomach knotted and she sank into the drowning waters of jealousy. If she thought leaving Jael felt awful, it didn't compare to how she felt now.
She could swear someone ripped her heart out of her chest, crushed it, and scattered it across the earth, leaving her with a gaping hole, an open wound, and instead of patching her up, they poured salt all over it.
Mill cussed and took a step forward, "Lord Levaton, Lady Jevera. To what do we owe the pleasure?" She said with a sweet smile.
