A blurry vision of red and blue lights flickering in facade, on front of Raven's apartment. As I was about to walked pass by his street, people gathered around and murmurings filled the place.

The sound of siren was up heard by the entire town, as well as, reporters on the scene gathered a whole shebang of information, they gradually needed.

"Excuse me, what happened here?" I asked, the kick of my curiosity pushed me to be an interrogative person.

The woman sneered, her lips twitched  showing a forbidding mood across her face.

"The couple living in this apartment died," dullness seems to run over my face to play with my expression. Slack-jawed—unblinking; meanwhile, confused if whether should I be wistful or beatific.

Did the silence of karma punished them?

When the cops took the victims bodies out from the main crime scene, a medical practitioner came to examine each of the bodies. I stepped closer out from the urge of my instinct's peculiarity.

"No shots, no cuts, nothing at all would prove that the victims were murdered." his eyes were fixed to wards the chief cop.

"This is impossible, I never had handled such case before," the chief shaken his head out of disbelief, and ran his two palms over his face.

Seargent Kravinsky, stepped forward with a suggestion, "Let's run an autopsy, they might be poisoned."

"No, I don't think so. There were certainly no signs of poison, which is odd." the doctor frowned as his eyes continued scrutinizing the victims body.

"Now this is more odder," my eyes widened when he fold the white blanket over, and a black rose was engraved on their upper chest.

His fingers run over the pattern and notice a strange fact about it.

"This is new, which means someone must have done it. The blood tracing the pattern is still fresh."

"When the bodies were found, have you notice this pattern already?" his eyes looking switchly between the chief and the sergeant.

"No, that wasn't there yet." they scratched their heads, baffled from the unusual events.

I stepped backwards when the doctor's eyes meet mine, as if, I were guilty for having the same pattern in my skin.

My heart was throbbing in anxiety, thinking, am I suppose to be wrongly accuse as the suspect for having that pattern as well?

But as soon as his eyes looked away, I run as fast as I could. 'til my lungs almost lack oxygen. In every pushed, my legs tend to become weary but gladly I managed it.

I went home with an intense perspiration, which literally made my shirt drenched in sweat.

"What happened?" Mom asked, as she opened the door. Her brows lowered and pulled closer, as she squinted. Made known the appearance of vertical wrinkles over her forhead and her nostrils flared outwards.

"Raven and Celeste passed away," my hands trembled, as the tears I held for so long flowed down infinitely.

"Stop crying my dear and tell me what happened?" her hand reached unto my face and carressed it gently.

"I don't know," ranging emotions filled me, against the odd events happening recently.

I ran to my room and took every single cloth off my body. I stared at my reflection and the red rose pattern on my shoulder.

" Do you regret it?" a croacky voice suddenly filled my room.

I turned around and found the guy in a black robe sitting on top of my bed, his eyes roamed over my clotheless body.

The sensitivity of my bareness jumped out from his darting eyes, my hand held the curtains well covering my body.

" What the hell are you doing here?"  my brows sunk in madness.

"Why hide such beautiful body?" he ask mischievously, his lips lifted in a smirk, as his eyes remained emotionless.

"Pervert!"

He stood upon the bed and took a step forward, his jawline and his pointed nose was lightened by the rays of the sun, as the hood covers the rest of his face.

"Don't come near me," I reached my hand outward, giving him a sign to not come furthermore.

"Are you afraid?" his lips lifted and his sharp fangs were revealed .

One more step forward and there will only be 10 inches apart from us. My face started to heat up, thinking the fact that i'm only wearing my underwear behind the curtains.

"Did you do it?"

He look at me expressionless reflexing his jaw muscles and intertwining both of his hands.

" Why, did you do it?

My face wrinkled out of exasperation, as I gritted my teeth and my hand clenched in vexation.

"Was that the curse?" he stood undeviatingly, crossing his arms against each other. Darkness filled his face and a unidentified expression painted on his vague face.

"You are the curse yourself," I was bewildered of his reasons, my mind keep trying to understand what he suppose to mean.

"What do you mean?"

He stepped backwards and returned to the position he was before, sitting on the bed. His other leg on the top of the other, as his hands took a rest on his knee.

"You were born with a curse, a curse that protects you against the people who hurts you and I am your guardian but, unfortunately you refused to take my offer. Now, the curse has evoked." a dark penetrating eyes glared at me at it's depths. A vampire as my guardian?

I used to believe that vampires never exist, they were just a kind of myth the ancestors had taught to the younger generation. Not until I met one.

At first, I was hesitant to believe what my eyes had seen. When I saw his fangs, burning red eyes and his psychic ability, a thought appeared to my mind. Is this real or am I just dreaming?

Ought to be just a delusion to me, caused by the stressed of heartbreak but the moment I felt the pain of the pattern engraved on my skin, I realized by then that I wasn't dreaming nor was it just all my hallucinations.

But to be born with a curse, sounds like a manipulation. To be able to control me, to slave me, and never will I put my guard down.

"And why should I believe you? I don't know you."

He vanished from my sight and reappeared behind me.

"Because there's nothing else you can do," the cold air from his breath tickles my ear, as he entirely perished. Leaving me dumbfounded.

I darted quickly, out from the curtain when I rest assured that he's totally gone, and put some clothes on.

My heart was racing, and my lungs was breathless. I endured that long pause of breathing when he teleported behind me. I could feel the touch of his cloth to my bare skin, which made me eternally anxious.

Although, my feelings deep down me weren't painted on my face at all, and yet, my limbs were trembling out of perturbed.

The feeling that scares me the most—the mystery.
