Chapter 32 : Home

The drive back to my old home is quiet. Of course, it is. Hemera is still unconscious, and I'm sure it'll stay that way for a long time. It wasn't until I parked the car in my driveway that I realized I actually drove back, clutching the steering wheel tightly. I wince and flex my hands, working out the tightness and aches.

I look up and watch as countless people run in and out of my home. How long have all those trucks been here? At least James started setting things up.

I shake my head and finally step out of the car. Now is not the time to shut down. I have to make sure everything gets packed.

"Nia! There you are! Jesus Christ, you're covered in blood!" James shudders as he comes to a halt a few feet away.

"It's not mine. At least most of it isn't," I mumble as I pick at my shirt and look at my arms. Great, I'm probably going to have to go in for a retouch once I'm healed. The tattoo is messed up. How long has the blood been sticking to me?
