Ten minutes passed in the principal's office, not a sound to be heard.

The dean of studies, who had been tasked with marking the papers, hadn't put his red pen down once. With a grave expression, he scrutinized the exam paper from left to right and eventually got up restlessly, saying, "Hold on, I'm going to check the surveillance."

The other teachers were all bewildered.

The other teachers, also curious, crowded around to observe.

As they looked from the standard answer key to Nathalie's answers on the paper, the more stunned they became, doubting their own eyes.
