The unveiled truth

Hearing that, he brought down his hand and continued his food without looking up one bit. Now he knows he's not the only one that knows how to get on one's skin. Feeling glorious about it, I grinned at myself.

He stood up and lend me his phone.

      "Make it quick" he ordered

I think I made him angry. I took the phone and dialed Jane's number.

      "Hello Aunty"

"Meena? Meena!" She shouts happily and started subbing "where are you? What happened? Are you okay? my Meena!"

Hearing her voice melted my heart and got me so emotional that I didn't know when tears dropped from my eyes.

Jane lost her husband and her only child in a car accident. So I understand how she feels, she wouldn't want to lose anyone again since she now took me as her child. She has been playing the role of a mother to me even when my mum was still alive. Now I took it as my responsibility to take care of her and made sure she never lacked anything, also with the help of uncle Gabriel.

Speaking of Gabriel, he's aging too but he will never admit to it. He's forty-five years of age but still very agile, strong, and tactful. He's looking good too.

"Aunty calm down okay? I'm fine, sorry I made you worry"

"Your friends Mandy, Jeb, and Rose came without you and brought your items. We all looked for you but to no avail, are you being kidnapped?" Still subbing.

"Aunty I've told you I'm fine will explain to you what happened but till then, please stop worrying. I love you, aunty"

"Okay my love, please stay safe for me"

      "I will...bye aunty"

      "Bye Meena"

This was an emotional moment for me, hearing my aunty's sad voice got me so moody. I never want to hurt that woman in any way.

I returned the phone to Dave, who has been standing there inspecting the call.

      "Thanks"

      "You're welcome"

"Can I just know the reason why you abducted me?"

Seeing the look on his face, I noticed he was a bit sad, and I'm sure it's because of the emotional call I made, could it be that he was touched by the tears of the two women on both sides of the phone. If he feels bad then he should let me go.

"Why am I here? Who are you? Why are you doing all this? At least I deserve an answer. I deserve to know what's happening" I burst into tears this time I didn't even know when I let out my emotions, but I don't care anymore. I wanted to fight him so bad and escape if I eventually get freed from the room I was locked up in, but things are different now. This whole scenario got me thinking. Now I don't want to fight, all I need is answers. I need to understand my situation cause am confused.

      "Have a seat" he instructed.

I did, while he sat opposite me, the exact place he was when we were eating. Already, the housekeeper has cleared the table.

"I understand how you feel and I'm sorry for keeping you here out of your own will," he apologized.

"It all started with our grandfathers. Your dad's father and my dad's father were best friends. They were mocked, laughed at, and abused on different occasions. Until they worked their way out of humiliation and poverty. They worked so hard together and became the talk of the town" he paused, checked his time, and continued.

"Medaline identified them and their worth that they received lots of trophies for their achievements. When it was time to rank the richest in Medaline city, my grandfather William Jackson was among the top five and your grandfather wasn't. This brought envy between the two friends, this was where the fight began. Your grandfather demanded to take all his shares from all the companies which they built together, and every other joint business" he paused and called one of his housekeepers for a glass of water.

He drank and continued, while I listened carefully.

"The next three seasons came, William Jackson became the top richest in Medaline, while Martin Judge became the third. Martin became so furious, filled with so much envy and jealousy that he assassinated his best friend William just to become the richest in Medaline. Martin tried all he could to get hold of his properties but couldn't. My grandfather has already assigned everything in my father's name. Then, my father was nineteen. Your grandfather tried to kill him and claim the properties by all possible means but his mother was smart and fast enough that she flew him abroad, but Katherine refused to come with him, she said she needed to take care of the house. Martin Judge came for my father Kendrick Jackson but was nowhere to be found, that's when he murdered my grandmother Katherine. When my father got the death news of his mother, that's when he swore to avenge his parents' death on a very good day. He stayed and got married abroad" he paused again and took some water while he looks at me.

Shocked by the whole story, I can't believe my grandfather could do this. Have always loved him and he never looked like one who could hurt a fly, he looked so innocent but his heart is that of the devil.

"My dad got married to a Medaline lady, Grace, my mother who he met there and gave birth to me and my junior sister Helen. She stayed there with mum, while I came back to Medaline with dad." he paused for a while and continued.

"That's when my dad's thirst for vengeance started. He sent some assassins to murder your grandfather ten years ago after which your parents were murdered too. I was eighteen then. When my dad discovered that his only child survived, he started looking for you."

"Does that mean you will kill me?" I asked anxiously while he looked deep into my eyes and stood up.

"If I had wanted to kill you, I would have done that the minute I brought you to that dark room." He said as he walked towards the white rose flower, touching it while the gentle breeze blows both the flowers and his hair making him look so appealing.

"How did you find me? And why did you spare my life?" the curious me can't help but ask, at the same point, I felt so bad for his family. What my grandfather did was so barbaric. But spilling another blood isn't the best thing to do.

"My dad gave me the mission to find and kill you immediately I turned twenty-four. I looked for you for four years before my men found you two weeks ago and I've been monitoring you since then. I ordered my men to bring you unarmed that I will do the job myself, just to please my father."

"Why do you still keep me alive," I asked again.

He turned and looked at me and turned again backing me, crossing his hands to his back"

"When you were brought to that room, I saw you and how innocent u were, my men captured your picture and brought it to me when they found you, I asked them to confirm your identity. They came back confirming it. That period of two weeks, I got all the information I needed to know about you, where u lived, the company you worked for, your friends...every detail including the woman you visit on weekends at Beldine"

Oh no, he knows about Jane! I ran towards him and knelt.

"Please don't hurt the innocent woman, she has nothing to do with this."
