Swords fight

"My King!"

Both of them exclaim as they saw Drey walking over.

Drey wore a sardonic smile sending chills down Rico's spine.

He knew Drey well to detect the small changes in him. Those bloodthirsty eyes weren't something on Drey's dark eyes balls often.

Rico shook his head and found his courage. Amon couldn't hold himself when Drey's eyes were penetrating deep into his soul. He retracted his step and ran out of the arena. He cursed his luck on this particular day, how he wished he could have been in the brothel.

Both were skilled swordsmen and they often engaged in friendly duals to horn their skills.

However, this day was exceptional for them. They wanted to clear their minds in whatever situation they were in.

Drey's mind was still on what he had unveiled earlier today.

Their usual friendly competition took a dangerous bend. Their emotions became heated and they become more aggressive with each passing moment.

Their fueled anger got the better of them. They didn't notice the surprised Jerome at the entrance of the arena he has been there since he saw Amon fleeing from this place. His body tightened and his legs almost swayed him.

Seeing them like this he knew he can't stop them singlehandedly he rushed out of the arena asking the maids about Trina and Kira's whereabouts.

Jerome easily found them watching the stars near the gardens. He grabbed their hands and dragged them to the arena. He didn't explain or say anything regarding where he was leading them.

Just as they were about to deliver their final blow, Jerome appeared with Kira and Trina to put a stop to their madness.

Trina had long known about Rico and Drey's love for swordplay but she has never seen them in such a state of anger that leads to fatal fights.

"Crazy. You are both insane!" Instead of helping them out Kira reprimand them as her small fists landed at both of them. She screamed as the ocean of tears bathed her eyes.

They hadn't realized that their small fight had terrified these women. Jerome sighed deeply. He knew Rico and Drey will want to get back at him after this but until then he will avoid coming in contact with them.

Despite their gazes on him, Jerome felt scornful of himself. They should be thanking him not despising him. He glared at the two men and made a buzzing sound as he walk away from the fighting ground.

The pairs of couples were brought to their chambers quietly. Their bruised faces didn't go unnoticed by the maids in the corridors. Drey leans on Kira's shoulder as she dragged his heavy body to their chambers.

Kira placed Drey on the bed and walk out immediately returning with a bowl and a cloth full of herbal water.

Catching a glimpse of the herbs Drey's hand turned cold as sweat formed on his forehead. He hadn't even felt pain anywhere why is she tending to him with the herbs? He wanted to dismiss her, but looking at her teary complexion he let her tend to his wounds.

He stared at the woman who dip the clothes into the herbal water and look at him. Her face was skeptical. "If it's painful say it." She informed him without waiting for his answer she pressed the clothes on his forehead. Drey hissed silently but the shrinks formerly on his face didn't go unnoticed by Kira.

"Does it hurt?" She asked bringing the cloth back to the bowl.

"No, but when you frown like that, it hurts here" Drey answered pointing at his heart seeing how she had been frowning since they entered the room.

"It was a foolish fighting," he added when he saw her clean his wound and covered them quietly.

"You are foolish Drey! What were you two thinking fighting like that?" She shouted at him placing the bowl on the floor.

Drey avoided her eyes as she turned back and gazed at him.

"I have been looking for you around the castle. Only to find you fighting to dead." She paced in front of Drey her heart accelerating.

"I went to see the old man," he replied quickly when he saw the maid knocking with a glass filled with herbal medicine.

He tenses though he drank herbal tea he never fancy the test it left in his mouth. He now regrets fighting openly. He looked up at the woman who stood in front of him and what he got was a blank face staring back at him.

Cursing under his breath he gulp the medicine and placed the glass on the tray.

"Is grandfather fine?" Kira gave the maid back the tray and climb on the bed. Drey brought her into his arms.

She carefully placed her head on his chest avoiding the bruised areas.

"The old man had the strength to argue, he must be doing fine," he replied bringing them under the covers.

"You are the one who argues not the other way round," she retorted protecting the old man. Grandfather had been teaching her different herbs and she could say the old man choose his words before he talks.

"You haven't seen Jerome with him, you would change your assumptions quickly about him," Drey slowly informed inhaling the fragrance of her hair.

"It won't change," she adamantly admitted.

Drey sneered, "he favored the females over the male." He brought his hand around her waist she has gained weight and he loved it. Not when she was too skinny and people referred to her as a little girl."You should get some sleep it getting late." Drey massaged her waist it tinkle as she giggle soothing her to sleep.

"I don't want to lose you, Drey."

"You won't," he was also afraid of losing himself in the process. The thought of leaving her still haunted his mind.

He had come out of his madness and thanked Jerome silently. He had noticed how afraid she felt earlier he didn't wish to see her like that ever again. He picked her hands up and kissed them.

"It doesn't hurt," she whispered as her eyelids turned heavy.

"Am sorry Kira," Drey whispered in her ear.

"You are just scared, don't try something like that am warning you, Drey Winger." She sizzled closing her eyes.

"Am scared of leaving you alone, Kira," Drey whispered as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

Drey watched her fall asleep in his arms, his eyes changing to black.

He is now a cobra a cold-blooded human.
