Chapter 40

The following day, Damon was waiting for her with a bright smile at the college parking lot and when she finally left her car, he grabbed her into his arms and kissed her cheek.

"Damon!" She pulled away in shock.

He laughed. "Sorry, did I scare you?"

"You can't kiss me in public!" She chastised. "Gabe's friends are everywhere."

"Oh right. I was so excited I forgot about that idiot. Will you mind if I knocked his teeth out?" He huffed in frustration.

There was no way he would knock Gabe's teeth and leave with his own intact. He was probably not a match for Gabe and besides, the latter's friends would definitely step in. However, she didn't expose him. "Break his legs while at it."

"I will." He promised. Then he looked around to make sure no one was watching and kissed her. He smiled in satisfaction. "I couldn't stop myself. You are too beautiful."

She chuckled and refrained from holding his hand on their way to class. Unbeknownst to her, they had already been spotted and only found it odd when they were confronted by Gabe and his psychotic minions as soon as they were out.

Gabe crossed his arms. "So it was you last night. Was it fun helping her sneak out? Did you have fun with her?"

"I'm an adult, Gabriel!" She screamed at him.

"Shut the fuck up." He glared at her and turned back to signal his friends.

They were starting to attract attention and she had never felt this shameful before. She held her bag closer to her chest. "If you do anything stupid, I'll make you regret being born." She threatened.

"Oh really? You can actually do that?" He guffawed, making all four of his friends roar in laughter.

Damon clenched his fists in anger. He didn't mind being made fun of but they were humiliating Avery and for that, he would never let them off.

"Guys, he's riled up!" Gabe announced at the same time as he grabbed his sister's hand and shoved her at his tallest friend.

"Hey!" She kicked in vain. Scott was the strongest of them all and he had always intimidated her. He threw her over his shoulder like she weighed nothing and her protest was child's play in comparison. She registered a series of laughs and heavy punches and shut her eyes. Would they hurt Damon? Why was everyone recording instead of reporting the incident? Her lips twitched. Of course they loved drama especially when it involved Gabe and his gang.

Scott finally put her down but only to shove her into the backseat of a car.

"What are you doing?" She glared at him when he brought out duct tape from his bag pack.

"Making sure you don't escape, princess." He sealed her hands together and then her knees, and once again he overpowered her with his strength. The car started moving soon after, heading to a direction she knew had nothing to do with her home.

She knew putting up a fight was useless. She was Gabe's sister so he wouldn't hurt her, right?

For the first time, she hoped her brother's reputation as a ruthless piece of scum could protect her. Her parents didn't care about her. They probably wouldn't flinch if anything happened to her.

"Don't worry, princess. I'm not going to kill you." He grinned, peeking at her between the front seats. She was yet to sigh in relief before he added, "I'm only going to make you wish you were dead."

And he did make her wish she was dead.

She fought back the urge to retch as the moans got louder and louder. She had her eyes closed but she couldn't help wanting to be dead. Scott had brought her into his room, tied her to a chair to force her to watch him go at it with two girls.

"She's so pretty. Aren't you going to let her join?" One of the girls spoke as Scott went down on her. Avery recognized her as one of Gabe's innumerable girls, making her want to retch. Was this seriously the kind of life he enjoyed? Sharing girls with his friends and making his sister watch it?

"No." She protested before he could respond.

"You heard her." He laughed. Then he went on with his debauchery and kicked the girls out when he was done with them.

"That, sweetheart, is how men will treat you." He approached her without covering up and she averted her gaze.

"Are you scared of this?" He pointed down at his hardness. "Isn't this what you want from that pretty boy?"

"I'll bite it off if you get any closer." She threatened, making him laugh and probably change his mind about what he was about to do. However, that didn't stop him from tearing off her blouse.

She gasped and instinctively tried to cover up, only to realize that her hands were tied behind her. She rubbed the duct tape against the edge of the backrest but all it did was dig into her wrists. She hissed in pain.

He placed a hand on her shoulder threateningly.

"No…. Don't do this." She pleaded, her tears falling freely.

"But this is what Damon is going to do to you. Why can't I?" He grinned, having way too much fun.

He looked down at her chest. "I see why he won't listen to all our warnings to stay away from you. You are hotter than I thought." He licked his lips, making her tremble in fear and hate.

Seeing her expression, he looked amused. "Why do you look repulsed? Isn't this what all you sluts want?" He ran his finger lower and when it touched her breasts, she wanted to die.

"Women are only good for one thing." He cupped her face. "Don't worry, I will make sure you enjoy it."

"Scott, enough." Gabriel barked from the door.

She looked up and wanted to jump over at him, forgetting she couldn't move for a second. "Gabe!"

"I want to have a word with my sister." He sent Scott out and when he turned, he was met with her enraged teary eyes. He pulled out a pen knife and cut the duct tape off her wrists and ankles. Since he was so close, she couldn't help noticing the bruises on his face. He had a black eye that made her wince at the thought of Damon's state if he, who had hooligans to help him out, was so bruised.

As soon as she was free, she made a beeline for the door. Her legs felt uncomfortable after being bound for so long but she didn't care, wanting to go home more than anything. She held the remnants of her blouse against her chest as she bolted out of the house onto an unfamiliar street. She bumped into a woman and sent her grocery falling all over the street.

"Watch it!" The woman roared but was shocked when she saw Avery's state. "Are you okay, honey? Should I help you call the police?"

"I'm okay." She averted her eyes. When the woman took off her coat and placed it on her shoulders, Avery knew she looked like a mess.

She thanked the woman and ran off before she could insist on calling the police. What would the police do? Scott's father was the mayor of Luxenville. He would simply throw money around for his son to be released. That was how he dealt with all of his delinquent son's issues anyway.

She knew that her parents would not defend her either, but she didn't expect them to scold and want to punish her as soon as Gabe let them know that she was caught holding hands with Damon.

Her jaw was nearly on the floor as she stared at her mother, who just announced that she was grounded, even though she had explained what Scott did.

"Are you even listening to yourself? He made his friend take me away and nearly sexually assault me, yet I'm the one being grounded?" She asked in disbelief.

Amelia huffed. "None of that would have happened if you hadn't been hanging out with a boy you should stay away from."
