Starting school

Sasuke and Itachi had a busy first week at Hogwarts. They had already completed the third-year program, so they spent most of their time exploring the castle, and on one of those outings, they met the Weasley twins.

- Hello," the red-haired twins said at the same time.

- Ah..." said the first one.

- ...that..." continued the second.

- ...are you...

- ...here...

- ...doing...

-...little...

- ...Ravenclaws?

The manner of proceeding after each other was a little disorienting, but the brothers pulled themselves together and, glancing at each other, answered simultaneously.

- Walking!

- Alone...

- ...late at night...

- ...around the castle...

- Forge, is it just me or...

- ...we ...

- ...found...

- ...kindred...

- ...souls!

Itachi and Sasuke looked at each other in surprise.

- My name is Forge Weasley, and this is my brother George.

- Don't listen to him, he's Fred, and I'm Dread.

- No, he's Fred, and I'm George.

The princes tensed a little when they heard the same last name as Ronald, who seemed rather rude when he reminded them of Draco's father's devouring past, but gradually the slightly disorienting way the redheads spoke helped them relax. The two Uchis were reminded of Uzumaki, Sasuke of Naruto, and Itachi of Kushina(and, needless to say, Shisui's love of jokes), which helped them quickly adapt to Weasley's hyper-reactivity.

- My name is Itachi Prince, and this is my brother Sasuke. Nice to meet Gentlemen Fred," the older of the Princes, turned to the right Weasley, "and George," he turned to the left Weasley.

Thanks to his ability to read faces, he could spot when the brothers were telling the truth to orient himself, and now the Princes were enjoying the amazed looks from the redheads.

- Fred, I told you that the twins would always understand each other," Weasley grinned, "now...

- ...we...

- ...just...

- ...have to...

- ...to show...

- ...you...

- ... castle!

Gradually, the enthusiasm and cheerfulness of the redheads took hold of the brothers. The latter, in turn, noted the Prince's passion for exploring something new, so they were happy to show the Uchis various nooks and crannies.

The princes, of course, still remembered their training. Before they left for Hogwarts, they complained to their great-grandfather that there wouldn't be room for their movement since the Quidditch pitch would be occupied by the school teams, so Arnold told them about the Room of Requirement, and the brothers made full use of it as a training ground, practising not only physical exercises but spells there as well.

With all that going on, they didn't notice the first week had passed when Malfoy caught up with them and expressed his resentment that the Princes had fallen to another department and stopped seeing him, so the friends had agreed on joint trips to the library, as well as joint training sessions since Draco hadn't given up hope of becoming a catcher in his second year. The brothers quickly did their homework and read exciting books while Malfoy finished his lessons. Although Draco was second to the twins on the school's score list, he did not have their photographic memory, so he needed time to repeat himself.

On one such trip to the library, they were approached by Granger, who, seeing the Princes' excellent grades, as well as noticing Draco's savvy in various matters of magic, which he, though not flaunting, was still visible to the careful observer, decided to chat with people interested in learning, as she was. Malfoy tried to voice some displeasure at the "dirty girl's" company, but the twins' heavy stares cooled his ardour. Gradually, the joint classes became a tradition, and the friends even found an abandoned classroom to debate various issues. The brothers and Malfoy left the idea of showing Hermione the Room of Requirement because the twins' paranoia demanded that such a helpful place be kept secret.

Apart from exploring the castle, the brothers enjoyed having private tea parties with their father and seeing him in class.

The twins took a desk before the teacher's desk before the first class.

Severus entered the classroom with a swift flying gait and began his introductory speech. The brothers watched with pleasure as he got everyone to listen to him attentively without raising their voices. After roll call, Severus suddenly turned to Zachariah Smith:

- Mr Smith, what would you get if I mixed crushed asphodel root with wormwood tincture?

- I don't know, sir," replied Zachariah.

Do you know where I can find bezoar stone? Or, for instance, what is the difference between wolf poison and monk's cloak?

- I don't know either, sir," frightened the child.

The whole class was on pins and needles. Everyone was afraid to take a breath lest they draw attention to themselves. The twins immediately appreciated the "evil bat" image my father had created and watched curiously as he frightened the students. It seemed silly for the twins to fear the professor because no one in their right mind would think of him deciding to hurt a child in front of a whole class of witnesses.

- Well, well. Apparently, someone didn't even bother to open a textbook. With an attitude like that, you won't get above Weak in my subject.

And with a quick turn around, Severus looked at the twins.

- 'Perhaps you, Mr Prince,' he turned to Sasuke, 'can answer these questions since Mr Smith has been unable to make us happy with his knowledge.

Itachi glanced at his brother at that moment, noticing the mischievous glint in his eyes. He immediately remembered that Sasuke's best friend was Naruto, whose favourite pastime was pranks and pranks. While on patrol, he often ran into fellow police officers chasing the restless jinchuriki.

- Easily, sir," the younger twin grinned foxily, "Asfoldel root and wormwood tincture make a sleeping potion. It is so potent that it has been dubbed the Drink of Living Death. If brewed incorrectly, you can die by drinking it. It's a potion of the Jaba level," Sasuke said with a feigned sigh, "It was more highly developed in the Middle Ages than any other potion. Laetitia Somnolens, the witch, used it to soak the spindle with which she pricked the King's daughter's finger. A young wizard smeared Rowanberry Potion on his lips, kissed the princess, and brought her out of her deep sleep. This event became the basis of many Muggle tales.

- Mr Prince, we're not in Muggle Studies or history class. Keep answering the questions without any digressions," Severus hissed.

- "Of course, sir," Sasuke replied, "Beausar can be found in the apothecary..." the younger twin continued, but he hesitated when Severus glanced at him, "And in the stomach of a goat. Wolf poison and monk's cloak are the same thing.

- Thank you for such an exciting story, Mr Prince," Severus said venomously, "Five Ravenclaw points for the answer, and minus two points for inappropriate digressions.

After class, Dakota and Theo pelted Sasuke with a pile of questions:

- Do you know the entire textbook by heart?

- You're so brave! I'd be scared to talk to Snape like that.

- Pfft. Yeah, Itachi and I studied the textbook beforehand. Why be scared? I wasn't being rude; just adding facts from history.

- I'd be afraid to say more than I should. He had this aura of wanting to run and pretend to be a rag so he wouldn't notice," Theo jerked his shoulders.

- Hn. What are you so afraid of? He's not going to eat you," Itachi said.

- But he could take a lot of points off. And put you on probation for the rest of the year," Dakota said.

- What's the harm in that? Grades don't always reflect knowledge. University admissions are based on GABA results and given to the admissions committee. As for the school cup, who cares who gets it? Life will look at your knowledge," Itachi replied, "Besides, from what I've noticed, the professor mostly takes points off for not knowing the material.

- Hn. That makes sense," Sasuke said, "Potions are one of the most dangerous things you can do. If someone gets caught up in it and doesn't add an ingredient or too many, there will be an explosion. Understandably, he gets so angry when someone doesn't pay enough attention to reading the recipe.

Dakota and Theo thought about what had been said. At that time, the brothers noticed a crowd had gathered around them. Not wanting to answer any more questions, the twins said they had things to do and ran off. The story of what had happened in class went around Hogwarts. With their quiet demeanour in Potions class, the Princes quickly earned a reputation as brave because Snape was feared by all but the Green Studies students. The brothers, on the other hand, reacted calmly to the fallen fame. As the sons of the Head of the Clan, they had never been neglected. And while Itachi escaped the harassment of groupies by graduating from the Academy at nine and quickly joining the NSAU, Sasuke could not escape their intrusive presence. Realizing that Itachi was inaccessible to them, as being an heir, he was denied the privilege of choosing his own bride, the female students focused their attention on his younger brother. When Sasuke became "The Last Uchiha", the situation became even worse. So trained to avoid the attention of others, they masterfully hid from stalkers in the castle's corridors. This was where their association with the Weasley twins, who seemed to know every nook and cranny of Hogwarts, came in handy.

Though they had been familiar with the material for a long time, other subjects seemed just as interesting to them. Professor McGonagall presented the material simply, clearly and understandably, and her lessons quickly became Sasuke's favourite after his classes with his father. The transfiguration professor had noticed Ravenclaw's considerable progress and was happy to give him a list of books to study further and set aside time to discuss them.

On the other hand, Itachi was more interested in spells and was happy to attend the Dean's classes. They surprised the brothers with his ability to convey the material unobtrusive and playful. Professor Flitwick noted his student's talent and soon invited him to join the spells club, although he usually only offered to attend from his second year.

But the History of Magic and ZOTI teachers differed from the brothers' liking. In Professor Beans' classes, the twins had adapted to studying the interesting potions books their father had given them, which was okay for them thanks to their knowledge of the history of magic. They didn't understand how a ghost had been entrusted to teach such an important subject. These classes were the first time the Muggle-born and Muggle-bred children had been introduced to the history and traditions of the Muggle world, and trusting this to someone who had long since died and who had no interest in what was happening in the modern magical community seemed the height of folly to the brothers. They could have recorded the lectures and played them every couple of days. No one would have noticed the difference.

The defence lessons had turned into an endurance test for Sasuke and Itachi. They struggled to keep their reflexes in check and not knock out a suspicious person and drag them away for questioning. They were completely unimpressed by Quirrell's utterly fake behaviour, and only a compulsion from their father made them keep their composure and not start getting information about him immediately. The brothers told Severus of their suspicions, and he had to tell him his assignment to watch over the suspicious teacher. The Potter got his sons to promise to keep their mouths shut and stay out of trouble.

The announcement of the beginning of the flying lessons was good news for Itachi and Sasuke because they critically lacked some relaxation due to their busy schedule. The first class scheduled was Gryffindor - Slytherin. And so, sitting in the Great Hall, Itachi and Sasuke waited for Draco to tell them how the class had gone. When they saw their friend, they waved and said hello. Malfoy's face was grave and somewhat angry. The boy abruptly said something to Krebbe and Goyle, and the two turned their heads toward the Slytherin table. Going over the options in his head as to why their friend looked like that, Sasuke thought that there must have been someone in Slytherin who had overtaken Draco in broom-handling skills, and Malfoy was now afraid for his place in the team. Still, the words that followed addressed to the Prince almost made him open his mouth in surprise.

- Sasuke, could you be my second?
