Trouble

Ares bent down to open up the wooden box that had been dug up from the ground.

"These guns must have been here for over a month" He muttered as he ran his fingers along the body of the gun.

"Who do you think Buried them here, Your highness?" Andrew asked with a furrowed eyebrow.

"It seems someone is planning to overthrow the king," Julian muttered. Ares stood up with a sigh.

"Not the King but the royal family" Julian's eyes widened.

"How do you know that?"

"On my journey to the central lagoon last time, we saw some guns hidden in the forest," Julian gasped.

"You're right. What do you think? Do you think guns like this are planted all over the kingdom?" Ares turned to him.

"There's only one way to find out. Search the whole kingdom, leave no stone unturned till you find something. I've got a bad feeling about this" Ares muttered which made Julian sigh.

"There's someone that wants to see you regarding James" Ares tilted his head.

"What about?" Julian scratched the back of his head.

"You might want to take a look"

Reign plopped down on the bed with a sigh. A smile appeared on her face as she remembered how close they seemed to have gotten. Finally, she was getting somewhere with her plan.

A blush appeared on her cheeks as she remembered how he dusted off the dirt from her gown when they stood up. She suddenly sat up as she shook the thought away.

"No Reign, you cannot fall for him! You need him for a reason and that's it" She muttered to herself before getting up from the bed.

She opened the door and came face to face with Reynolds.

"Reynolds? What are you doing here?" She asked with a furrowed eyebrow. He smiled at her.

"I wanted to know if you'd like to see the new flowers that had just bloomed" Reign nodded with a smile. She wanted to go on a walk anyway.

"Of course" She closed the door behind her then followed him to the garden.

~

"These are beautiful, your garden had to be the most beautiful in the kingdom" She complimented as she sniffed all the flowers she could get her nose on. She could perfectly understand why this was Reynolds sanctuary. Reynolds chuckled.

"I hope so, I spent a lot of time grooming these flowers. You are the first person that has shown such an interest in them" Reign turned to him.

"Because they are beautiful" Reynolds sat down on the bench and patted the spot beside him.

"Why don't you sit down next to me, Isabella?" Reign furrowed her eyebrows.

"Are you sure I can sit that close to you? It would look inappropriate" Reynolds waved off her concern.

"You and Ares aren't married yet so no one can judge us. Besides, it's just a harmless chat between me and my sister in law" Reign nodded then sat down slowly.

"Do you have something you want to talk about?" She questioned. Reynolds stayed quiet for a while.

"Has Ares told you about his past?" Reign nodded.

"He told me today and now, I finally understand him," Reynolds nodded.

"Ares and I aren't close anymore mainly because he distances himself from everyone in the castle but our stories are alike as well. Both our mother's died out of love" Reign turned to him with a furrowed eyebrow.

"What?" Reynolds sighed.

"I'm still not comfortable enough to talk about it," Reign nodded.

"I completely understand. I'm here to talk whenever you need me" Reynold tilted his head at her with a small smile playing on his lips.

"What? Is there something on my face?" Reign questioned as she wiped her face.

"No there isn't. You just amaze me for some reason, Isabella. I feel free when I'm with you which I normally don't feel around others. Maybe that's why Ares is so different around you" Reign furrowed her eyebrows.

"I don't get what you mean," Reynolds smiled.

"Don't worry about it. I hope he treats you well because if he doesn't, I might just take you for myself" Reign's eyes widened as soon as he said that. Before she could ask him if he was serious, he stood up and walked away.

Reign shook her head. There was no way he was serious. She stood up with the stretch then walked back to her room. Come to think of it, she hadn't had breakfast today.

"Oh! I'm glad you're here" Reign uttered as she walked into her room and saw Jess. Jess smiled then walked over to her.

"So what did you and his highness talk about?" Reign furrowed her eyebrows.

"How did you know about that?"

"Anna of course" Reign rolled her eyes.

"We just talked about personal stuff which I can't tell you about" Reign said as she walked over to a chair and sat down.

"You must be hungry, Anna said you didn't eat before leaving" Reign nodded.

"Ares was In a hurry. Can I get something to eat , please?" Jess nodded.

"Of course. Anna and I are here to serve you. Don't worry, Anna already went to cook you some food. She's making your favorite" Reign's eyes widened brightly.

"That's amazing! You guys are the best" Although the castle was obviously delicious, Reign missed the taste of food back home.

"We would do anything for you. You took us out of that forsaken house and although this castle feels like a lot of secrets are hidden here, it's still better than living with those two witches" Reign giggled. Jess was about to say something when a knock sounded at the door.

"Oh? That must be Anna" Jess immediately went to open the door and gasped.

"What…. What do you guys need?" Reign furrowed her eyebrows as she stood up and walked towards the door. Her eyes widened when she saw four guards standing in front of her room door.

"Is there something I can help you with?" The one in front of them signaled the two at the back towards Reign. She furrowed her eyebrows as they walked towards her and grabbed both her arms.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Reign yelled as she tried to free herself but they held her tightly.

"We are ordered to bring you in for questioning because you have been accused of identity theft" Reign's eyes widened. Jess turned to her with frightened eyes. What was going to happen to Reign?

"But that's a lie! I didn't steal anything" The guard sighed.

"That's why you're being brought in for questioning. Take her away" Reign struggled against their hold.

"Let go of me! Let go!" Reign yelled as they dragged her away.

Jess ran her fingers through her hair with wide eyes. She needed to speak with his highness, now!
