Chapter 1Chapter1: The Devil and The Death Angel

With a loud screech, a black car came to a sudden stop, and someone ejected a woman from it. After rolling for a short distance, she settled on the dirt road, fixated on the sky. Rain sat up and observed her body, which had become covered in dirt. She started to dust herself off when she noticed her torn hoodie.

A bubble rage boiled through Rain's body as she stood up "Not my fucking hoodie," Rain shouted into the night, pulling out her gun and firing aimlessly at the retreating car. She exhaled and placed her hands on her knees, when she noticed her converse were torn and scuffed. "FUCK" rage built up in Rain's stomach. She went eerily silent, raising her gun and firing at the car.

The car began to swerve right, then left, before flipping over and bursting into flames. Rage was filtering through her honey eyes. As she watched the car burn, a vile smirk began to appear on her golden face when she turned away.

Rage was still filtering through her vein when she sat down at the bar, pulling out her wallet and recoil at the space between each bill, but she needed this. Called for the bartender and ordered, staring at the dance floor, which was filled with people grinding against each other. Rain looked back as the drink was being placed in front of her. She reached for her wallet, but a hand leaned against the bar.

"Put it on my tab, Jimmy" the deep voice trembled Rain's insides. But Rain didn't look at him, just kept sipping her drink. "What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" He asked.

"a drink and some peace" Rain took another sip of her drink.

He chuckled next to her. "Finding peace in a club. How poetic," he sneered, glancing at her.

She felt another person walk up behind her. "I was until you bothered me" she leaned her body on the bar even more.

He stood, moving closer. "Can I bother you some more" his voice vibrated, as Rain felt the man behind her move closer too. "Are you here alone?" he asked, his breath caressing her ear.

"If you try to hit on me, you can leave because I am not interested," she said and pointed behind her. "and take a chatterbox with you" she took a long sip of her drink.

"I am flattered, darling, but I am not here for that." He sounded amused. "I need a job done. I think you are the right woman for the job"

Rain rolled her eyes and threw back her drink. "I don't know what you are talking about" she got up to leave.

"I won't go anywhere if I were you, Akari." His said, her government name hit Rain's chest like a bullet.

Akari slowly turned to look at the two men in front of her, her eyes widening as she instantly recognized them. The man who was speaking to her had sharp monolid eyes that were shadowed by his brow, giving him a dangerously intense scowl. Despite his intimidating presence, Akari couldn't help but notice the sharpness of his suit, perfectly tailored to fit his muscular frame. But it was the intricate ink designs on his skin that gave away his true identity - Duri.

Next to him stood a man with soft features, almost ethereal in appearance. His light, flowy kimono and scarfs gave him a luxurious aura, while his deep umber skin and soft eyes made him seem otherworldly. Akari immediately knew him as Omani, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of awe yet fear in their presence.

"No, thank you, I know better than to deal with The Devil and The Death Angel" Akari looked at Duri than Omani before shaking her head and turned to leave again.

Duri chuckled and walked towards her calmly "you should know better, you can't just leave, princess, you know that's not how this works" he called her to stop just as she did. "Good girl"

"Don't patronize me" Akari whispered, staring into those deadly eyes. "What do you want?"

Duri just smirks down at her. "like I said, I have a job for you, shall we?" he gestured to the door.

Akari knew she didn't have a choice, so walked to the door. "Let's get this over and done with," as I climbed into the black SUV and Duri drove off.

The car drew silent as they drove off into the night. Duri beige hands, which cluttered with rings, calmly drove down the road. His expression was unreadable. When Omani still hadn't said a word, it was making Akari nervous and making her shift in her seat.

Akari turned to look at Omani. His skin glowed under the moonlight, but his soft eyes were burning into Akari's skin. "Does he ever talk?" I turned back to Duri, who had his eyes trapped on Omani already.

"He talks enough…" Duri looked at Akari. "To get you killed," he chuckled at Akari's shocked expression.

"ok" She exhaled in a huff. "Don't talk then," Akari whispered to Omani, sitting still for a moment until she pulled out her gun from her back holster to check it, then did the same with my ankle gun. "I got like five bullets left. How are we doing this?"

Duri gave her a sinister smile, turning and leaning his head towards her. "Don't worry, princess, I have a few tricks up my sleeve," he winked at her.

"Care to share the plan?" She looked at him.

"Don't worry about it, just do as I say and everything will be fine," Duri said firmly, not taking his eyes off the road.

Silence fell on the car, the street lights flash through the car, Akari was nervously fidgeting. She looked at Omani again. "Do you want to sit in front?" she asked him, but he shook his head.

Duri patted my thigh. "Nah, you are safer up here with me" he gave her a devious smirk. "Plus, you are not our prisoner…yet," he teased.

"Now you are talking about 'yet'..." Akari exhaled and shook her head. "I am gonna die here"

He chuckled. His laugh was deep and thumped against her chest. "You're feisty, I like that" Duri beamed at Akari. "But don't get too comfortable, sweetheart, this will be one hell of a bumpy ride" he looked at the road again.

"And not the good kind of bumpy," Akari rambled off while shifting in her seat. "Sorry, I talk a lot when I am nervous," she whispered, feeling too aware of her presence in the car.

Akari felt Duri's fingers stuck a strand of her hair ear. "It's ok, princess, I like you filing the silence," he turned back to the road. "You better get used to us because you are stuck with us," Duri commented.

"After tonight, I will definitely not going back to that bar again" I rubbed my hands together.

Duri looked to his brother, then back her. "But I'm afraid it's not the simple, sweetheart. You see once you are involved with us…there is no way out" he looked at Omani through the rearview mirror.

Akari sat forward, pointing to him. "no, no, you didn't give me that choice" She stared at Duri, before turning to Omani. "you agree with this" Akari pleaded with him.

Duri looked at Omani again. "It is just business," he whispered for the first time, his voice smooth, which made her insides curl.

"That's fucking unfair" the cuss hit hard in the car, but Akari knew there was no going back, she was trapped. Silence fell on the car again. It was her freedom leaving.

Duri sensed the bone chilling atmosphere that fell on the car. It advocated empathy for her, pulling it from his depths of his soul. He looked at this brother, to find some solace between each other, but Duri instantly realized they were in the same boat, empathy was virus now and it was effecting them both. Now Duri knew why she spoke so much. It wasn't to fill the silence, but to keep her mind from thinking.

Duri cleared his throat. "We are almost there," but Akari didn't even move. "you know, it's not our rules…" he didn't know why he was explaining himself.

"I know, it's the rules of the underworld" Akari shook her head looking out the window. "I was a fool to think I could get out"

"Why would you want to?" Duri looked between her and the road. "you can everything you want, willingly, money, women, men, mansion and estates, everything at your fingertips" he knew he was lying to himself.

"At what cost, a shot in the head when it is done with you," Akari said, looking at him. "This world is toxic and tough and unforgiving, probably shit for our mental health," she explained with her hand. "Tell me, when was the first time you saw a dead body?"

"What?" Duri stared at her. The flash of memory went through his mind, wild daisies falling on the floor.

"D!!!" Omani shouted, pointing in front of them, where a figure stood in the middle of the road.

"The fuck" Akari shouted, leaning back in her seat.

Duri slammed on the brake, stopping the care centimetres away from the figure, which cloth in black, a mask, and hoodie.

...

Duri exhaled impatiently: can't we skip to the good parts.

Omani looking at him with a patient smile: these are the good parts, our beginning.

Akari sat forwards: gosh, I was so spicy back then, I have really matured.

Omani caressed Akari cheek, leaving a blush there: you have matured like fine wine, very elegant.

Duri rolled his eyes: stop lying to the poor woman, you are as spicy as the day we met you.

Akari looked at him: no, I have matured, now I am a classy elegant woman. She nodded at him.

Duri chuckled, throwing his head back: tell me that when we are between the sheets, Mama.

Omani hit Duri at the back of his head: what did I tell you about teasing her. He turned to Akari: Don't listen to him, Mama, you are an elegant lady.

Duri grumbled: in the streets. Akari nudged his shoulder.

Akari firmly stated: I am a classy lady all around.

Duri looked at her with a challenge, leaning into her air: Tell me that when you are begging for me to eat Omani's….

Akari pushed him over and blushed.
