Screw It Who Needs To Block Anyway

Death in this world was just like hitting a respawn button. You just get right back up. It did make me wonder if I loss my progress or something when I die.

Like picking up the sword and such. I checked my inventory and my sword was still there. The only question I had now was why didn't I spawn somewhere else?

I guess I should have tried setting my spawn at the bed. I didn't interact with it... and it wasn't on the note that I read either. Was it obvious?

It didn't really matter right now, not like I was miles away anyway. I started the walk back to the ring when I encounter a store. I thought it was funny that it was behind the building where I got my wooden sword.

It reminded me of looking through the fridge for a bottle of ketchup and I keep looking and looking and it's right there in front of me... I'm blind... or terrible with directions. Setting aside my terrible eyesight, I walked in the store and the clerk looked at me... more importantly looked at the top of my head.

Then met my gaze and said. "Get lost I don't do charity."

Before I could say anything the door automatically shut and locked me out.

Uhhh okay? Did this dude just know I had no money? Looking at the building again I saw a sign, it read: NO CASH NO SERVICE.

Whatever I prefer fighting anyway.

I ran over to the ring, which was completely new like I didn't just get pancaked into it and slashed in two.

Daniel was standing exactly where he was like nothing happened, waiting for me... To die or get skipped into the damn ocean again. Gazing upon the ocean filled me with excitement I felt myself grinning unconsciously... I swear I'm not -!

Forget it this joke got old real quick anyway!

Real talk.

I wasn't getting stronger through swimming or running everywhere. So that means level ups are the only way to get stronger I think.

Then there was Daniel.

he wasn't your average tutorial boss, he is purposefully ending the fight as fast as possible, throwing me out of the ring, or killing me.

All to waste my time.

I needed a plan. Throwing myself at this dude just to die or swim again would make an excellent training montage. How many tries would it take? 20? 50? A 100? Or a number so high I would lose track?

I really liked this idea seeing as I was yearning for something... I started grinning widely as thoughts of challenging this impossible foe was awesome!

Slowly inch-by-inch crawling from start to finish.

Ah hmmph... Focus Hirro you can do this.

I needed to be efficient. Taking too long would lock me out of content I wanted. Like more abilities and such.

I need to study his moveset, know what he can and can't do. Then understand what I can and can't do.

Then beat Daniel.

I used my sword and started drawing in the sand... where should I even start?

Hmm what do I know for sure?

1. Daniel can teleport.

2. Daniel hits like a truck.

3. He can charge his attack to instantly kill me.

What else? I think super strength is a given.

Anything else? Nothing came to mind so I moved on.

....

Moving on to me.

1. I can summon weapons.

2. I can swing only once?

3. I can jump as high as a bus, or a hut.

I haven't tried air attacks yet...

Standing up it was time to test out my air combat.

I jumped high and began to attack.

It felt weird, because my body once again swung the weapon in a set way. I gripped the sword with both hands and swung downwards like I did with my ground attack. Except you know it was in the air.

This attack came out much faster than my ground attack.

Huh... neat.

My recovery was faster as well.

It seems ground strike sucks and air strike was better.

Hmm I wanted to see if I have combos or not.

"You know why don't you give up? It would make things a lot easier for the both of us."

Daniel said, kinda sounded like he was bored.

"What do you mean?" I replied.

"You have 3 more bosses after me and even if you manage to pass me, you won't level up from DEFEATING ME or ANY OF THE BOSSES HERE."

"Is that so?" I said with a grin.

He seemed to be letting me in on something, I mean I'm dense. Not stupid.

"So I won't level up from you defeating you... so what? I still wanna fight you.

Daniel's grin disappeared.

Daniel just looked at me like a dumb dog and said,

"Are you stupid or what?" He said matter-of-factly.

As much as I would love to stick this wooden sword up his stupid nose... he was right, unfortunately...

I did, however, learn an important clue. I just needed to slowly piece it together.

This conversation was helpful, but I needed to make progress on if I could do combos or only a single swing.

I needed a practice dummy... I turned and proceeded to walk towards more of the village, I'll try everything I can before challenging the head honcho. Throwing myself at a wall that can't be broken is stupid.

Instead I'll climb over it.

--------------------

He really wished this dude would give up. There was many before him that choose Critical mode only to give up and go to easy mode losing their memories. None of those people ever made it off tutorial island.

He then remembered meeting the one he loved...

He quickly pushed the thought away. If he was gonna see her he needed to get this loser out of the world and into easy mode.

He smirked as he knew just from what he saw from this rando's skills that he was horrible.

His skills and abilities were lack luster. He had nothing to fear.

If Daniel never made it off the island. Neither was this guy.

Another updated chapter! Yay me!
