Raymond sat on the swivel chair as his men kept counting the packages. "Boss, it's 172," one of the men said.
He blew out cigarette smoke from his mouth before he stood up and walked to them. There was a tray of drugs; he pressed his index finger on it before he sniffed it.
"Transport 100 to Italy; I will let you guys know what to do with the remaining ones."
"Okay boss"
Then he sat back on the chair and leaned his head backward as he could feel the effect of the drug. "Is it too toxic?" Seb asked, and Raymond itched his nose.
"It's just alright,"
Then Seb's phone rang; it was Mr. Li. He picked it up. "Yes?"
"I have been standing in front of Miss Chen's college for two hours, but she hasn't shown up. I checked inside, and they say she has already left; then I can't get her on the phone" he reported with a nervous tone.
He didn't have the courage to call Mr. Xu directly, so he could only transmit the message through Seb.
Seeing the look on Seb's face, Raymond became alerted. "Miss Chen is missing, and her phone is switched off."
Raymond's eyes widened in shock. "I won't spare Macho," he said, stood up angrily and turned to Seb.
"Track her phone," he suspected Macho, as he was the only one who wanted her so desperately.
He gritted his teeth. "If I find just a scratch on her, holy sh*t."
Seb got worried for Macho because his boss was high on drugs and also a very unreasonable person when angry. "Calm down, why don't I take charge to find her?"
"I said to track her phone."
Grace was very important to him; he needed to protect her with his life because she was his trophy.
They walked out of the base and went inside the car, which drove away. Minutes later, Seb received a message.
"Boss, fortunately Macho doesn't have her."
"She is at her old community, probably her father's home. We worried for nothing."
"Then why is her phone switched off?"
"She probably ran out of battery."
"And does her father's home lack electricity? And don't speak anymore; drive there," he simply ordered and sniffed in.
*
Soon they parked the car in front of Chen's home. "I will go check," Seb said, but Raymond didn't listen to him.
He walked down the car and to the door.
It was open, so he pushed the door and walked in. The Chen's were having dinner when they heard someone walk in.
Their gaze moved to the two men at the door. Nora stared at Raymond; she dropped her chopstick and fixed her hair.
Raymond's gaze swept over the sitting room, but he couldn't spot Grace. "We are sorry for...." Seb was saying when Raymond chimed in, "Where is Grace?"
Sarah got nervous and stared at them. "Grace? She had run away from home. And who are you?"
Raymond took out his gun, and their eyes widened in shock. "Now answer me in Chinese, where is Grace?"
"We don't have her." Nora stuttered, and Raymond signaled at Seb, who turned to walk upstairs when Mr. Chen blocked him.
He pushed Mr. Chen away. "You can't just barge into my home."
"If you have Grace, then release her; my boss isn't in his state of mind," Seb muttered to Mr. Chen. He knew Raymond could act on impulse at any moment soon.
"Grace, she…" He didn't know what to say. Seb pushed his way upstairs in search of her.
Raymond's gaze moved to the pictures on the wall, and there was also a family photo; Grace wasn't there. He smacked his lips and walked closer to them.
They were so scared that Sarah held her daughter tightly as they took a step backward. "Boss" Seb hurried downstairs with Grace in his arm.
She was bruised and unconscious, and his eyes widened in shock. "I will ask once, who is responsible?"
Mr. Chen pointed at his wife, and Raymond clenched his fist. "If she doesn't wake up, then I will rain misery on your lives," he threatened, then kept his gun.
Sarah gasped in shock when he stabbed her with the knife. "My name is Raymond Xu; file a case if you dare," he said, then pushed her as they hurried out of the house.
"Mother!!!" Nora screamed out in fear as the knife was stuck in her mother's stomach.
Seb placed Grace in the car and drove out at full speed. "I already called the doctor; he is waiting at the mansion."
Raymond stared at Grace; his heart raced as he feared for her. "Drive faster," he scolded Seb, who was already driving more than normal.
They arrived at the mansion, and he carried her inside. He placed her on the couch as the doctor started checking on her. Raymond stared at his hand, which was stained with blood.
"It's not her blood," Seb reminded him.
"I won't spare them." He clenched his fist and pointed at the doctor. "Make sure she wakes up."
Then he walked outside, as he needed the fresh air. Seb followed him. "Boss, be calm. I am sure she has just external injuries."
"My life depends on hers," Raymond muttered, and Seb nodded. He knew that and also knew how important Grace's safety was to him. He had to protect her at all costs.
"She will be fine," he assured him.
"Is she that stupid? She knows they don't like her, but she still went there." He couldn't believe it.
"You both are very similar," Seb said, and Raymond frowned at him.

The maids helped clean Grace and dressed her up before carefully placing her on the bed.
Raymond stood there and stared at her. The doctor said it was just external injuries and it would get well soon; she had passed out due to the pain.
"You have been asleep for more than an hour; do you plan on waking up soon?"
"How about a deal? If you wake up in the next thirty minutes, then I will get you a pet; I heard girls love them."
"I want a cat," Grace muttered. She was awake ten minutes ago but didn't have the strength to open her eyes.
He stared at her face. "Finally," he said, sitting next to her.
Grace was happy; even though she felt pain, she was happy because she didn't wake up at the Chen's; instead, she woke up here, which meant Raymond had saved her again.
Slowly, she raised her head and placed it on his thighs. "Is it okay if I sleep this way?"
"Why did you go to the Chen's?"
She chuckled. "I was a fool; they tricked me, just the same way you had tricked me; I fell for a trick twice."
"What trick?"
"He told me he wanted to tell me something about my mom, so I went there."
"You are so naive," Raymond smacked his lips.
"Do you know why I went there with no worries?"
"Because you said you would protect me, I knew you would come for me."
