Chapter 5

"Mum, I'll be going!" Fenrir smiled, pecking his mother on her cheek before heading out of the cottage.

"Take care of yourself, try not to get into trouble with anyone!" His mother's loving voice came just as he came out of the cottage.

Fenrir smiled and didn't say anything. Soon, his face regained the calmness it was used to.

He was feeling a bit tired as he didn't get much sleep the night before.

He had to get some stuff done, even though there were no dark circles under his eyes, he was still feeling sleepy.

Fenrir sighed and pushed the thought to the back of his mind while the wind made his white robe flutter.

He hoped no one was going to irritate him today as he wouldn't be able to help it.

He was already feeling annoyed in the first place so he wouldn't be able to hold back if he was angered.

Well, he was going to see how the day was going to go by.

He would try his best not to allow anyone to cross his path, or else blood would flow at school today.

"Fenrir!!"

A familiar voice called out to Fenrir forcing him to stop in his tracks.

Turning around, he came in the face of Ellie who was breathing heavily.

"Why didn't you stop when I was calling you earlier!!" Ellie fumed glaring at Fenrir.

"My name's not hey." Fenrir shrugged. He had heard Ellie calling out to him before he came to the school gate, but then he decided not to answer.

"You...."

Ellie gritted her teeth as she pointed at him. She didn't know what to do with the guy.

He was just too condescending and arrogant.

She had to do something about him or else he wasn't going to stop looking down on her.

"So what do you want?!" Fenrir sighed, feeling a bit annoyed.

He was helpless with the girl in front of him. He couldn't bring himself to kill her, yet, he couldn't chase her away.

The only thing he could do was to chase her away, but then the girl had a stubborn personality.

Even after the threat he dished out to her yesterday, she didn't relent and continued to pester him.

Ellie became speechless upon hearing Fenrir's question. Was this guy even human?

"Why were you so cold to me yesterday?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Fenrir glanced at Ellie whose question sounded stupid in his ears, but he could care less about it.

"Since you've got nothing to say, I'll be heading in." He sighed and walked away.

"Hey, you! Don't you dare leave me behind?!" Ellie yelled as she ran after Fenrir.

She couldn't understand why the guy kept giving her a cold shoulder.

Has she ever done something to him in the past? But then she couldn't remember meeting him anywhere.

"Why do you hate me so much?!" Ellie yelled as she began to ask a series of questions.

"Did I know you somewhere or do you know me?!"

"Also, yesterday, your death threat was no play, would you have killed me if I hadn't stopped disturbing you?"

"Would it kill you if you stopped talking even for once," Fenrir sighed, turning back to Ellie who was busy raining questions on him.

He had planned to give her questions a deaf ear, but then her last question got on his nerves.

He would have killed her if she hadn't stopped following him.

"Fine!!" Ellie muttered as the two proceeded to the combat room.

This was the first lesson they had to take every morning. It aimed to let all students be strong enough to defend themselves.

"Fenrir!"

Ellie suddenly called out to Fenrir excitedly after about a minute.

Fenrir glanced at Ellie feeling annoyed, was this girl ever going to stop disturbing him?

He was already stuck with her in the first place so there was nothing he could do.

He could only sigh as he stared intensely at her hoping she was going to shut up.

Ellie froze when she saw Fenrir's gaze and then lowered her gaze.

She felt Fenrir's anger and knew he was just trying to keep up with her.

She couldn't understand why the guy hated her so much. What the hell had she done to him?

After a while, Ellie looked up but then Fenrir had disappeared. It seemed like he didn't exist in the first place as she couldn't see him anywhere.

"Fuck!!"

She couldn't help but swear inwardly, he had used her momentary shock to ditch her.

But then it felt as if he was hiding something which made Ellie even more interested in him.

Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind, she rushed into one of the training rooms as she was late already.

----

Inside a castle not too far from the school, the atmosphere was tense as figure figures who sat opposite each other glared at two figures who were on their knees.

The figures were surprisingly Jake and Henry. At that moment, the two were covered in cold sweat and didn't dare to breathe too loud.

Staring at them were the leaders of the four clans.

A pale-looking man with scars on his face emitting a bloody aura glaring at Jake.

The man and Jake looked alike, making it obvious that he was Jake's father, Klaus, and the leader of the vampire clan.

By his side was a man with a demonic aura, even though his gaze seemed calm, it burned with fury as he glared at Henry.

It was evident he was Henry's father, Ethan, and the leader of the demon clan.

By the side was a woman draped in a black robe, no aura was coming from her, but she was as dangerous as the first two.

This was Anne, Emily's mother and also the leader of the witch's clans.

On the last side was a man with rather handsome features, there was a hint of a mocking smile on his face and he gave off no visible pressure.

This was Rowland, Emily's father and the leader of the werewolves clan.

The atmosphere inside the castle was tense and it was getting denser with each second.

It was as if a fight was going to break out any minute.

"Jake, what do you have to say about the death of the witch?!" Anne growled as she broke the silence.

She couldn't take it anymore, she had to interrogate him to know the cause of that witch's death.

The day before, they had found the body of a witch killed by a vampire and a vampire killed by a demon on the school premises.

She was confident that no one could have such audacity to kill the witch except Jake who was a spoilt brat.

"I...I really...really don't know anything about it..." Jake shuttered as he managed to talk. The pressure on him was getting worse.

He had just gotten up from bed and was preparing for school when his father had dragged him here.

It was a horrible experience for him as he could still feel his father's angry's gaze.

Not knowing what he had done, he didn't ask, it was not until he got here did he know that he was suspected to have killed a witch.

On the other hand, he met his rival Henry here who was also suspected of killing a vampire.

The reason was that there was a demonic aura around where the vampire was killed and vice versa for the witch.

"Henry, who killed the vampire!" Ethan growled as she stared at his son, breaking the silence that had descended once again.

"Father... Believe... believe me, I didn't know anything about it..." Henry shuttered, he was extremely scared at the moment because of the gazes he received from his father and the leaders of the other clans.

Even though he was sure that his son wasn't the killer he had no other choice but to bring him here.

When they went to investigate the scene, the demon aura lingering around was that of an upper demon which was nowhere close to his son.

Also from the demon's aura, it was far stronger than his son and was only inferior to a few upper demons.

But then, he wondered what an upper demon was doing at the school. Also, he knew almost if not all upper demons in his clan, but then he didn't seem to recognize this particular aura.

He had to look into the matter once he got the chance, or else, he didn't know when the upper demon might strike again.

Right at the moment, the atmosphere was tenser than it originally was. The two princes who were the main suspect had denied their involvement in the matter.

Also judging from the expression on their faces, it seems like they knew nothing about it as they wouldn't dare to lie in front of them.

But then who could have caused such a thing? From the scene of the incident, the witch and the vampire were killed at the same place.

Yet, the witch was killed by a vampire and the vampire was killed by a demon.

What the hell was going on? Who in hell could have been so terrifying to make it look like the work of a demon and a vampire?

They had to find the answer to it or else there would be impending doom for the four clans.

Each leader of the clans had different thoughts going on in their mind.

They didn't know what to do or what to say, they were sure that the two princes were not lying.

But then what could they do in a situation like this? They had to think of a solution fast.

"You both may leave!" Klaus said in a deep voice as he stared intensely at Jake and Harry.

Immediately, the two stood up and scampered out of the castle. That place was just too terrifying, they didn't even want to glance back.

The existence there other than their fathers was as powerful as their fathers.

But then whatever they were going to discuss was none of their problems.

They could only think of going back home. The pressure they had received was just too great and they wondered when they were going to recover.

Besides, they had to look for the one who had set them up or else they would continue to be in trouble.

If not for the fact that the other leaders from each respective clan could see through them, then they wouldn't have had it easy.

Back inside the castle, the atmosphere was even tenser than it was before.

This time, there was even a hostile air amongst the four, they had suppressed the hostile feeling amongst themselves when Jake and Henry were present.

Now that they were gone there was no need to suppress it any longer.

"Who do you think is the culprit!" Ethan sighed as he spoke up slowly, he was the most disturbed by the issue as he was sure something was fishy.

He had smelled the scent of a Werewolf when he had gone along with the other leaders to investigate, but then he didn't breathe a word about it.

Something had to be going on, there was a demon, vampire, and Werewolf on a scene when a murder occurred.

Something had to be wrong somewhere, but then he couldn't put a finger on it.

"We'll look into the matter." Anne sighed, breaking the silence.

She knew there was no need for her to pursue the matter any longer.

What had happened had already happened, it would be just a waste of time to do so.

"I'll be leaving!" She continued and immediately disappeared from where she sat.

"I'm off too!" Klaus muttered and stood up from where he was seated. Before anyone knew he had also disappeared.

Soon, the remaining two leaders quietly left the place. They had tactically placed their trust in Anne and hoped she was going to find something soon.
